Let Me Know When Nick Lachey Moves
Nick Lachey gave the most ridiculous interview ever to Access Hollywood. In the interview he says that he loved being raised in Ohio and that he is going to raise his son in Ohio and that he and Vanessa are going to move there to do just that. So, when is this move going to happen? Well, not now certainly. Sure he loves that his brother and his kids are there and his parents are there, but they are not going to move now or anything. So, then in a few years? Well, plans are underway to think about it in the next few years because he wants to have a place to raise future kids too. So, sometime in the next five years? Well, they are going to see how it goes, you know, but plan on hopefully moving there to raise their kids and it would be a nice thing if it ever happened.
So, basically if Nick wins the lottery and can still have a camera pointed in his face and get lots of attention and fame he will think about it. I'm guessing he has probably not gone over this plan with Vanessa yet either.
I can appreciate people hustling and trying to keep working in this industry but at some point its just time to move on. Nick Lachey is one of those people who needs to move on. His boyband was always 3rd most popular (at best), he played 2nd fiddle to Jessica on their show, and his only successful solo single succeeded largely off the press on the end of his marriage.
ReplyDeleteIt's over Nick. Go to Ohio.
I thought the headline referred to the pic - he looks like a waxwork. Slightly melted, but still recognisable, with original personality intact. I wonder if he dropped his trousers there'd be TAIWAN stamped all over?
ReplyDeleteOk, he stopped singing how long ago? They were big in 98,99,00? And he makes money how? His wife makes money how? Hosting television shows, hasn't he tried doing that? What sense does it make for two people with hardly a modicum of a career between the two of them to move to the sticks? It's a nice idea, but clearly simple minded Nick here hasn't thought that idea of the rustic up bringing for his children through. Small town life is great, if you have an income of some kind, and aren't dependent upon the hollywood miasma for your check.
ReplyDeleteThis reminds me of Larry Burkehead. When he got custody of Dannielynn, he made a big deal about how he was going to raise her in Kentucky because of the fame aspect of Los Angeles and not wanting to be around that. Well he was in Kentucky for about 3 months, then packed up and moved to L.A. He loves parading her around showing her off and getting attention with her. It's sickening considering her mom and all.
ReplyDeleteHe already has a home here (he's up the street from here) and comes to Cincinnati very often so I could actually see this happening.
ReplyDeleteI agree he needs to move on wih his life and his "fame" is over but I still like the guy so ill be rooting for
Pardon the typos. Phone is being sketchy and I'm getting over a bug myself. Blech.
Delete@Jane. So, did you give the bug to the phone or it to you? ;-)
Delete@Jane I'm from Ohio too! And of all the cities there, I think Cincy would be one of the best for raising kids. I live on the west coast now but miss houses with big backyards, a little cornhole, some sprinklers or slip and slides for the kiddos... I miss those days!
ReplyDeleteI'm giving Nick a break on this comment. He truly seems to love his hometown, Ohio sports, and all the rest. I don't doubt he wants his kids to have a second home there.
Careful with the cornhole!!!! :-D Im from Cincy too and, I dont know about the west coast but in Denver "cornhole" has a completely diferent meaning. I found that out the hard way. :-)
Deletestill love Cincy, miss it terribly.
+1@Jane
ReplyDeleteIf he moves I imagine it will be in time for his son to start school, but I don't think he will because his extended family isn't there anymore.
@Jessica, where ever you read that was incorrect. Larry Birkhead and Dannielynn have lived in a large fixer home he bought in Louisville shortly after he won custody of her.
I could never see anyone caring what this guy does or doesn't do. He strikes me as one of those people who has little, if any, real talent at anything, simply a parasite living off his own hype.
ReplyDeleteNick will surely be moving soon. His 15 minutes are more than up. He could probably make a better living at this point in his hometown, where he can turn being a hometown celebrity into a regular gig doing local commercials and showing up at baseball games.
ReplyDeleteOhio Girl here too! Come back to semi-normal Nick--it's the only kind of fame you will still have. No on in Hollyweird gives a crap about you anymore. Come home, call a few Reds games, open some fast food joints--write a sad book about what used to be....
ReplyDeleteVanessa will leave you of course..but it's really her only option too.
I don't get all the disparaging remarks. He doesn't have a history of acting like a stereotypical Hollywood a-hole or anything. Enty is a chit stirrer, but we already knew that ;)
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like he’s tired of treading water in L.A. The cost of living is crazy, especially with a wife that has champagne tastes on a beer budget. Even if they’re still living off fumes from the early 00’s, they could live comfortably in OH without resorting to an actual 9 to 5. Vanessa is probably flipping out right now, but it’s ridiculous for them to hang on by their fingernails waiting for some reality show or hosting gig to pop up. There’s no shame, Nick! Go home. The streets of Tinseltown are littered with the carcasses of a million wannabes who were waiting for that big break or comeback.
ReplyDeletehis 15 min is not up! He just got rave acclaim for his 'notice me too!' article about going one ONE movie date w/ the most famous famewhore of whores!
ReplyDeleteone movie date that happened 19 yrs ago now-oscar tomorrow! hang in there nick!
Hey guys 98 degrees is going on the road. Wasn't that the band he was in? My ex is working it.
ReplyDeleteYes Sherry.. and just read there's a new 98 degrees CD due out May 7. They aren't superstars, but there's always an audience for boybands who can still carry a tune.
ReplyDeleteAndrew, totally agreeing with your comment!!
ReplyDeleteHis brother Drew--the one who won Dancing With the Stars moved back home and he still works from there.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like their family is really close and wants to maintain that.
I think I just read something this past weekend about Nick getting a hosting gig on some new show on NBC--and he hosts The Sing Off--which was renewed--it's going back to being a December show that airs during the holidays.
I think it's nice if he can do it.
If they hv enough money- and ge strikes me as the careful type-go for it. But i dont know hiw they gonna earn a living.
ReplyDeleteNick is a genius he married Jessica without a prenup. He walked away with a huge settlement.
ReplyDeletehe's no Russell Brand
eh.. without Nick, it's doubtful that Jessica would have ever attracted the national attention and interest their reality TV show generated. 'Their' TV show, so I think the settlement was entirely fair, especially in light of the fact that she's the one who pulled the plug on their relationship. You can be sure the no prenup idea was Papa $impson's because Nick was the famous and wealthy one when they married.
ReplyDeleteNick needs to realize that his time has come & gone & just step out of the spotlight. But he won't. He'll keep going, trying to be the next Mario Lopez who will host anything & everything to try & stay relevant.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds more like a pitch for a reality show. Watch as Nick and Vanessa move back to the Midwest and adjust to life out of the spotlight. Does anyone think Vanessa seriously wants to live in Ohio?
ReplyDeleteI accidentally read the headline as "Let me know when Nick Lachey works." lol. Odds are probably better that he's move ...
ReplyDelete*he'll.
ReplyDeleteObviously I'm not firing on all cylinders tonight.
