Kate And William Got Married Two Years Ago

Two years ago today, Kate Middleton got some fancy name and title when she married the balding guy who is going to be the King Of England someday. I'm pretty sure the entire planet watched Prince William get married to Kate, but I was not one of them. The two years flew by though. It really does seem like just a few minutes ago they got married and to realize two years went by just like that makes you realize how fast life is and how you have to really appreciate every second on earth. Did you watch the wedding?

  1. Nope. Happy for them, but didn't watch it. Did look at the pictures of the dress later, 'cause I am still a girl. *g*

  2. I did watch. And time certainly does fly. I came across a picture of me prenant. That was nearly 18 years ago!

  3. Yes, I watched it just as I watched his parents' wedding. I'm not too romantic but there a few things that suck me in.

  5. Does this mean you'll finally start calling the Duchess by her married name instead of "Kate Middleton"?

    2. @ Rosemary But she doesn't have a last name right?
I never found this royal wedding romantic. I guess I remembered the other two and how horrible everything went for them. I do think Kate's a fairly grounded individual (if not too clever) and she will hopefully do fine. Still the whole thing seemed creepy, wasteful, and sad.(haunted by Diana's tragic life).

Can't believe it's been two years though!

  9. @Rosemary, I go with the TLo nickname, "Cathy Cambridge" as a compromise for the Duchess.

  10. I watched it while I was getting ready for my own wedding 2 years ago today... :)

I wasn't nervous after watching Kate walk down the aisle because I told myself, "If this bitch can do it in front of 2 million people, I can do it in front of like 60."

  12. Yes, I watched it while doing final packing for my trip to South Asia. I'm so glad we've stopped hearing about Pippa finally!

  13. I'll never forget the dresses. Hers and Pippa's were so beautiful. Only to be outdone by the not-so-beautiful princesses with their fascinators.

And now let's have a moment of silence for the hot mess that was Chelsey Davy. How I wish she had become a member of the royal family.

Talk about time passing: next year at this time, I'll have one kid graduating high school and the other graduating college. I wonder if the next year is going to go incredibly fast or incredibly slow for me?

  14. Must've been the only person in the UK who didn't watch.

  22. Two years ago I woke up at 4 a.m. to watch all of the pre wedding coverage because I didn't want to miss one moment of the royal wedding. To this day I still don't understand Why they had trees lining the aisle instead of flowers.

  23. Dedicated Anglophile here who got up early to watch the wedding. Loved it. They're adorable.

  24. Didn't watch. She never did it for me. She is certainly classy, but painfully boring. Not sure how much of that is manufactured or her real personality. She just seems like a put together, well bred vapid girl to me. Nevertheless, she also seems very nice.

Of course, William's looks have gone so far downhill these past few years I didn't want to bother watching him either.

  25. @Max Power. No you're not, I didn't watch either. I went to the wildlife park instead and watched all the cute animals, most of which are far more appealing than the entire royal family put together.

  26. It's the sort of thing that bores me rigid, however to be picky I'll point out that William won't be King of England - that title hasn't been in use for a long time. He'll be King of the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland.

  27. Watched and loved it!

  28. Yep I watched it (and his parent's wedding too). I think they are actually a very nice couple and it doesn't seem like they are forced together like his parent's were. They seem to be genuinely happy.

    @ Colleen - Happy Anniversary!

Plus I felt special having them getting married on my birthday. :)

  29. @New Life and Attitude - Thank you and happy birthday!!!

Weird fact: Our dating anniversary is the same day that Charles & Diana got married.

  30. Yes, my mother was visiting and we got up at an ungodly hour to watch it and loved every minute...we are both just bonkers for the British royal family. I served mimosas and scones. ;-)

  31. I don't think I watched it live ( I did watch Charles and Diana live).

I think I watched a replay of the wedding. They were together so long before they finally married, I was not as into the whole wedding romance thing.

I think they seem like a well suited couple--I hope their baby makes them even happier.

  32. I didn't watch "live", but clips of it ran for days on end so ultimately yeah, I saw the wedding.

  33. When is she having Harry's baby?

  34. I wasn't planning on watching but I did, probably from reading about all the buildup to the wedding on here and in the comments.

  35. i did. i don't really "believe" in marriage. but i like these 2. and i can't wait to see their baby.

  36. I watched it, I am right in between the ages of William and Harry, so I like to follow them
