I saw this yesterday morning. It was hysterical! They also mocked K-Trash when they were promoting their garbage clothing line. You can find that on YouTube.
I'll take slow-talking and KIND over smart and MEAN any day of the week. Besides, the person who seemed dumbest to me is the female anchor who couldn't figure out that a camera can film a guy brushing his teeth without showing him on the toilet.
I didn't see anything wrong with the interview. He was kind respectful and made sure to inuncite every word. Those news anchors had No reason to pick on him so much. It could've been worse. They would never do that to Charlie sheen, he would rip them into smithereens for weeks on twitter.
Or Cruise. There are a couple of Cruise interviews on YouTube. Tom isn't afraid to set boundaries around you if he thinks you're being rude. Prickly is a subtle way to describe him.
@skimpymist: I think the reason they feel its ok to make fun of him is because of the culture of everyone getting a show regardless of whether or not they can grunt out a sentence or do absolutely anything worth watching. I suspect if it was a show about him training for the next Olympics, teaching kids to swim, hell, teaching other celebrities to swim, people wouldn't make fun so much. But as it is, he's bringing nothing to the table but a pretty face so stick to magazine ads because speaking is not really his forte.
Maybe it's a reality-show backlash, but I still agree with Skimpymist. Boo to the anchors. I'm Mean Shaming, and wish more people would Mean Shame when it's deserved. I guess that makes me mean to Mean Shame, though.
Too funny. Jennifer, it is an interview with Lochte, who can barely speak in sentences. He comes across as just plain dumb. As the guy anchor says, how are they going to get enough material to do a show? He has nothing to say and has zero personality (Lochte).
I think I would have a hard time keeping it together after I had to 'interview' someone so ill-prepared and unable to respond sensibly. What was Ryan expecting them to ask?
I have commented before here that I think that Ryan is blissfully ignorant. I actually feel kind of bad for the guy, someone knew people might tune in to see a good looking jock party and be the butt of every joke. I truly hope someone that can count is handling his money. He should start a swim school, anything really that lets him speak to what he actually knows. I really don't like to see people be mean to folks that don't even realize it is happening.
I'm from Philly and trust me when I say that Good Day Philadelphia is a TRAIN WRECK. My friends and I could put together a more professional show that than if we were drunk and high.
why is everyone laughing at a mentally challenged person? i really don't get this. he was on our morning talk show this week, and 2 of the hosts would NOT stop talking about how stupid he was. when did this become okay?
I think they were both unprofessional.if someone is coming on your show to promote a product, insulting them like that will keep others from coming and will eventually affect your bottom line. The old dude came across as playahatin' Janet and Tyler Perry were on some local show promoting a movie when the news anchor interviewing them diverted from topic and started grilling Janet about NippleGate. Janet tried to remain cordial but the anchor was persistent. Unfortunately, this is what passes for journalism.....more about sensationalism to get ratings.
As for Ryan, he needs better media training. Learn to engage the audience and show some charisma.
Granted, Ryan is not the smartest guy out there, and the answers he gives in his written and verbal interviews are just plain pathetic.
i can understand why the anchors would want to laugh, but i think they should've done it when they were not on the air. i think it was rude and i feel a little bad for ryan.
You guys do realize this is the asswipe that defied the rules at the Olympics & went up on the podium at least once with a got damn diamond grill in his mouth. He was told MULTIPLE times, Don't Do It!
He also has a running shoe designed with "Ryan" on the bottom of one foot & "Lochte" on the other, so when he walks by, people will know "Ryan Lochte has been there."
Did I mention he came up with the word, "Jeah"? Jeah, my ass. Give this idiot a Pulitzer Prize for that contribution.
He's gonna be whining & crying in about 10 yrs when his claim to fame is gone.
I don't know when the tide changed with what being an Olympian meant, but this sure as hell is not the Olympics I grew up with. And I don't have one foot in the grave as I type this.
Fuck Ryan Lochte. He's not some innocent, slow-speaking, kind person. He's an egotistical POS who has no respect for anyone or anything.
Amazing that Michael Phelps was almost crucified for being photographed taking a bong hit & Lochte is celebrated for partying hard. Fuck him.
It's been a long, horrendous, painful week for this Country. I despise people being celebrated for their idiotic actions when the real heroes of this Country are those that respond (whether it's their job or not) & help their fellow man & never look for accolades.
I want to watch the episode in which Ryan Lochte meets Oswald Bates
ReplyDeleteReally it's a good thing Ryan can swim. Good abs only get you so far.
ReplyDeleteGay porn career in 5....4...3...2...
ReplyDeletePlease please PLEEEEEZZZZZ let this happen. With Tebow as his BOTTOM!
DeleteI didn't know our Fox News in Philly was so cheeky! And he totally did not pick up on it.
ReplyDeleteI will have to start watching their news just for this.
I hope he has a good financial manager, oh my god, dumb as a box of rocks.
ReplyDeleteI saw this yesterday morning. It was hysterical! They also mocked K-Trash when they were promoting their garbage clothing line. You can find that on YouTube.
ReplyDeleteBoy he's dumb. Dumb. Really dumb. Driftwood dumb. As in no-wonder-he's-a-good-swimmer-because-that-density-would-sink-to-the-bottom-of-any-pond dumb.
ReplyDeleteThe male anchor looks kinda like Phil Dunphy's older brother.

ReplyDeleteI wish those news anchors would be in his show! My lord is he vapid. I have to watch this train wreck though!
ReplyDeleteJah!!!
The video was funny and yes Ryan is not the brightest guy, but it seemed like the anchors were trying to find a reason to make fun of him.

Delete*enunciate
ReplyDeleteI could only stand about the first 30 seconds of that video. The guy must be dumber than a box of rocks.
ReplyDeleteHe is dumb, but I think there must have been more video we didn't see, right?

ReplyDeleteI can't watch until later. Is this basically anchors being assholes?

ReplyDeleteSometimes mean is funny and this cracked me up. I thought he was so cute during the Olympics, but he needs to go to personality school.
ReplyDeleteRyan Lochte is RIVETING, y'all. ;-) Ladies, if he's a man at night, he's gotta be a man in the morning. #LochteLogic
ReplyDeleteIs he SERIOUSLY this stupid or is an act?
Enty, I don't think he (or Phelps) are good looking, perfect abs or not, but it's probably b/c when I envision his brain I see tumbleweeds.
He's not very bright, but he doesn't seem mean. The news anchors, however, are both stupid and MEAN.
ReplyDeleteEveryone here in Gainesville is just shaking their heads at this guy. We love our fellow Gator, but COME ON!!
ReplyDeleteHe's special. I can't wait for Joel McHale to rip him on The Soup
ReplyDeleteI have commented before here that I think that Ryan is blissfully ignorant. I actually feel kind of bad for the guy, someone knew people might tune in to see a good looking

ReplyDeleteI love the male news anchor subtly calling Ryan gay.
ReplyDelete"Well, we know you're into water sports. Cut to the picture of him with his legs in the air."
I love Mike and Sheinelle! There's another insane anchor named Jennaphr - omg they all crack me up.

@ImLi....I agree. Pretty trashy.......I am embarrassed for the anchors. Lochte has more class than they do.
