Cory Monteith Is In Rehab For More Than Just Booze
You would have a hard time finding any actual substance in the Kneepads article about Cory Monteith. Filled with superlatives and written by a publicist, it features one piece of news about the Glee actor who checked himself into rehab. Buried in between all the love for Cory is the sentence that he went to rehab for more than just booze. Otherwise the article is about what a great guy he is and hard worker and how it is just a slip and he will be fine and everyone loves him and he is amazing and it just goes on and on. It is the softest of soft soaps when it comes to a rehab story. I guess he will get a cover when he gets out too.
I thought everyone assumed it was for more than booze?
ReplyDeleteJudging by his weight loss and sharpening facial features, I would guess cocaine. Probably a little Adderal tossed in for good measure. At least he's getting help before it gets out of control. Something to be said for that.

ReplyDelete@Anna Nonymous LOVE your new pic!! Lol that Marc Jacobs knows how to pick 'em!
Deleteditto @amy. good for him.
ReplyDeleteIt's worrying that his relapse came not long after his relationship with Michele. Clean for 11 years now this? Just saying.
ReplyDeleteA huge fat duh
ReplyDeleteThat picture's from almost a year ago - he's way skinnier now. Mind you the last candid's of him before rehab were at an ice hockey game and (imo) he looked pretty good there too. I have no experience of drugs tho' so no idea what people look like. And yes, i thought it was common knowledge it was more than alcohol - cocaine?
ReplyDeleteIt's a shame, I like him. And him with Lea too. I hope he comes through ok. Good luck to him.
Ughhhh so much adderall, everywhere. Whyyyyyy???!?
ReplyDeleteAdderall is Crystal Meth in pill form. I guess they don't think it's bad if they have a prescription....Smdh.
ReplyDeleteHope he stays in there for as long as he really needs. Once he gets out, I say dump Lea.
ReplyDeleteAgain, how else could you deal with her?!?!?!? Trust me, I am glad I was drinking the one time I met her.
ReplyDeleteHope he gets the help he needs. He seems like a nice enough guy.

ReplyDeleteI deleted earlier comment, I hadn't realised he'd gotten that skinny, and looking at the extreme flush he has, based on my own experience with Adderall, I think that's a good possibility. Or coke. It's embarrassing how red I get when on that stuff, people ask me if I'm ok or just sunburned.
ReplyDeleteI don't see what the big deal is. Cory doesn't owe anybody any explanations for what he's doing with his life. He will need to make amends to anyone he's hurt as a result of his issues, but my life isn't affected in the least by his problems. I like him as an actor and he seems to be a decent human being. Good enough.
ReplyDeleteIt was suspect that it happened a few months after he started dating Lea, don't know too much about them and I hate Glee but she doesn't look like a nice person at all, very concerned about appearances.
ReplyDelete@kelly, tell? :)
ReplyDeleteno celebrity goes to rehab for just booze
ReplyDeleteI thought he lost weight on lea michelle's skinny bitch diet? Oh who the hell am i kidding.
ReplyDelete+1 Cee Kay
ReplyDeleteHe seems like a really nice guy and he and Lea seem to like each other beyond any publicity they might be getting.
It bothers me that people blame this relapse on him being with Lea. When an addict chooses to use, that is on them...not anyone else. It is just as likely, if not more so, that the trigger was dealing with his burgeoning fame. As it happens with many addicts, it probably started with rationalizing that he could do/drink "a little" and it would be fine. And he very well may have been able to do that for some time...and then, as it does with most addicts who try that, it got out of hand again.
Obviously none of us know what goes on behind closed doors, but Lea seems fairly supportive of him.
(And much like Anne Hathaway...just because a woman is driven and demanding in her field doesn't mean she's a raging, uncaring bitch in her private life. It's very much like the demanding male executive that's "powerful" and the demanding female executive that's "bitchy". We STILL have such a fucking double standard in this country.)
I don't think adderall is comparable to crystal meth. Yeah, they're both stimulants and adderall does contain "amphetamine salts," but I think there's several orders of magnitude difference.
ReplyDelete@DontRainOnMyPrada Haha my thought exactly and I'm not sure how comfortable I am with the thought of sort of being a meth-head
DeleteErm you do know that he's just her beard right? They are not a real couple... I'm sure he's a nice guy. But you can't blame his addiction on her. She's been in a solid relationship for years.
ReplyDeleteAs they say in NA, the drug doesn't matter so long as you're working towards staying clean. Good that he made the step. And Lola is correct. No one makes anyone relapse. It's on the user themselves. It's all about taking responsibility for your actions. Find out what your triggers are and address them. I wish him well. He seems like a very nice person. And I'd still wish him well if he weren't.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of ..When does Lohag enter rehab?
Lohan - May 2nd supposedly goes to rehab - not for just booze.
ReplyDeleteGood luck and all the best wishes to Cory.
ReplyDeleteOkay, against my better judgement, I'll bite. Who has Lea been in a solid lesbian relationship for years with, Faberry?
A little search online will lead you to the real answer even if they both deny it again and again...
DeleteI'm assuming he's hooked on Lea Michele's sweet, sweet lovin'.
ReplyDeleteI wish him the best, he seems so so sweet.
ReplyDeleteDon't know if anyone will see this so late, but the difference between Adderall and crystal meth is many fold. Besides the obvious, one manufactured under strict supervision, crystal could be made in the bathroom of the local WalMart. One is produced by chemists, the other, some dude who is lucky if he still has brain cells. Both are chemically amphetamines, crystal is produced by compounding methyl with the amphetamine, allowing it to pass deeper into the brain, in a much stronger, longer, and euphoric manner. If Adderall isn't abused, either by taking too many, crushing and snorting, shooting up, etc., or mixing it with too many other stimulants, then a prescribed dose can be very helpful. It has been around since the 50s, (amphetamine), given to soldiers during war times, added to diet pills, used as a pick me up. Also, for it's current label usage, as a drug for ADD or ADHD. While taking it correctly is generally safe, it does also have the ability to cause a nasty addiction. My advice, probably say "no" to amphetamines unless you really need them, ALWAYS say "hell no!" to any methamphetamines. Hope it helped, if anyone managed to see it. :)
ReplyDeleteI heard insider gossip last year that Corey was sick of playing a graduating senior at age 30, with a forehead full of wrinkles. I can see where that would be tough, so happy to find big fame, but with a character he desperately needs to leave. I know he was on everything and it's brother when he was a teen, let's hope he got help this time before it went to those levels, he seems like a nice enough guy.
Nah, I'm too lazy to search. You said it, so go ahead and say more. Please. Do tell us everything you know.
ReplyDeleteFS i wouldn't even bother chasing that one up - the user name suggests that person thinks that Michele is and has been for 4 years) in a secret relationship with Diana Agron. Really, don't even go there.
ReplyDeleteFunny that you assumed a name without me saying it! Actually it's Dianna not Diana but that's just a minor detail. And why do you think I only think and don't know?

ReplyDeleteI think on the last post about him, someone said that his drug of choice is heroin and that s/he knew people who had shot up with him.
ReplyDeleteRest in piece.
