Arrested Development Begins Again On May 26

On Sunday, May 26, at one minute after noon, Netflix will release the 15 original episodes of Arrested Development that people have been wanting since the show went off the air back in 2007. I can't believe it has been six years since the show went off the air. Apparently if you want all the answers you have been waiting for, you will have to wait for the movie which will eventually come. Jason Bateman says, "There are many, many questions that these episodes ask that only the movie will answer. And there are many stories where the loop is closed inside the episodes. But the overall story, the bigger story, once you see the movie you will see that 'Oh, this story started with those fourteen episodes,' because the action in these 14 episodes happens simultaneously ... And the action across the episodes is happening simultaneously. If I'm driving down the street in my episode and Gob's going down the sidewalk on his Segway, you could stop my episode, go into his episode, and follow him and see where he's going."

Sounds good to me. I didn't watch it when it was on t.v, but I definitely will now!

  10. @Lotta, 44 days to go. Still so much to do, but it's coming together. I have too many things going on until then: moving this weekend, turning 30, bachelorette party, etc. So I have TMJ on one side of my jaw from stress, but I'm hoping that goes away after the wedding!

And now I want "ecvitcted" to be a word. Cross between excited and evicted?

  12. By the way, the "movie" stuff is a joke. It's part of the storyline for the new season, and picks up on Ron Howard's joke about "maybe a movie..." in the SOS episode.

  13. Thanks for the well wishes! @Gayeld, we're going to the Outer Banks. Going to rent a house with a hot tub! We were originally going to go to the Dominican Republic, but I'd rather pay less than half that and put the money toward furniture for our new house.

Sigh. Not even married yet and I'm already making responsible choices. :)

  15. SO EXCITED SO EXCITED SO EXCITED.

When I read that the episodes were coming at midnight on a Sunday night, I got mad, until I realized it's Memorial Day weekend.

Netflix better get their shit together... they always have problems on holidays, everyone's watching at once, and the service is bad.

  20. I have been waiting for this since Fox cancelled the show. I'm putting my phone on do not disturb and will be spending my May 26 doing nothing but watching AD over and over and over! I love the concept.

  21. Karen! As Joey Tribbiani would say, you put your hands TOGETHER!

    Congrats! ;-)

And...OMG! But I get old-skool Netflix through the mail. Guess I'll have to start streaming or something somehow. Jeez, I'm such a technophobe...

  22. @Karen - OBX is awesome! We used to get a great house in Avon (less crowds), but would make trips up and down the coast - def check out Ocracoke (http://www.dajiorestaurant.com/ is an awesome place for lunch), Awful Arthur's in Kill Devil Hills is great for a late lunch (no reservations so least crowded around 2pm), there is so much to do and the beaches are so nice...have a blast :)

  23. Congrats Hollyweird!!

I'm in the Inner Banks area, near Edenton; I'm from MI, though! ;)

  24. Congratulations to Karen & Hollyweird.

Karen, my hubby & I didn't do a big honeymoon either, stayed within 2 hours of home & had a great time. You are so tired after the wedding that it is nice to relax & not travel overseas.
