HUH?!?! I am so NOT a sportnista so this is all alien to me, furthermore this is a GOSSIP blog so let's stick to the regularly scheduled programming of drugs, sex, and other debaucheries of the rich and famous please lol, JK
Not anymore. I'm not a big basketball fan but I used to fill it out based on, cute players, jersey colors, or school names. Needless to say, my bracket picks didn't get far =)
I do. My extended family across the country engages in some friendly betting. We have our brackets on a particular website that calculates the points (the website has nothing to do with the money, a cousin manages that end of it). My alma mater has had a few great seasons of late, so I enjoy it from that perspective. I actually almost won the damn thing last year which would have been rich considering I know very little about college hoops overall.
I don't, and don't much care. But our local team got a #1 seed (Gonzaga - not bad for a small Catholic school in the middle of nowhere) so it is hard to ignore.
Basketball is about the only sport I really care about. I watch some/not all of the March Madness games, but not enough to do brackets. My beloved Hawkeyes did not make it this year, however, so maybe a little less incentive to care, but not by much.
I used to do brackets at work - it was kind of a fun thing, a dollar to join. I don't like basketball, so I'd just fill it out based on whichever name sounded more familiar to me. One year back in the 80s I actually won! The men playing the brackets with me were so pissed!! One a big $70.00 and laughed all the way to a department store for a new dress. Still makes me laugh to think about how pissed off my male coworkers were.
I love doing brackets, one of them that I am in every year pays out a good chunk of change. However, I would love to see my team win first and foremost!
March Madness kept me from losing my marbles when I was on bed rest with my second pregnancy.
We just moved a few months ago after my husband was given a huge promotion, and for now I'm not working, which I find very difficult to adapt to (worked and made my own money for many, many years). The fact that I will be home and able to watch the games is one of the few positives I've found in my current stay at home situation.
See prev comments on jock culture.
ReplyDeleteNO but I think you should do the blind item bracket for the 20k reveal! DO IT!
ReplyDeleteAwesome idea, @Lotta! I want to see that bracket!
ReplyDelete(For those not on Twitter, Enty talked about doing a BI bracket & mentioned MV/Coke mom)
I DOOOOOOOOOO! And my BF and I leave Weds for March Madness in Vegas. BEST TIME EVER.

ReplyDeleteP.S. I'm totally on board for blind item brackets.

All I care about is Lindsay and whether she gets ass-to-ass in prison.
ReplyDeleteOhhh wait. Of course she will (if she ever goes to prison, which I doubt).
I don't even know WHAT NCAA or a bracket even IS!
ReplyDeleteAdd me to the "don't care" list.
ReplyDeleteI'm doing one, but with my Wildcats out of it, I really don't care...although I DO wanna see Louisville get spanked.
ReplyDeleteDon't care. Only root for sports when a local team hits the national. Sort of. (Go Lady Blue Hens!)
ReplyDeleteGoogle Marshall Henderson. He's a bad boy playing for Ole Miss and its going to make it interesting! This Friday, I'm expecting a few technicals...
ReplyDelete@B626
DeleteI enjoy his antics, makes it very fun to watch.
I actually participate in a calcutta auction. Waaay better than simple bracket betting.
ReplyDeleteI am not even sure what this means.
ReplyDeleteNo brackets, but I do hope Gonzaga wins the whole thing. Small school with some awesome talent.
ReplyDelete@Del- go Zags! Doubt they win it all, but getting to the Elite 8 would be nice.

I don't do the bracket.
libby, Bobby Knight has been making the rounds promoting the tournament. I can't think of Hoosiers without crazy Bobby:)
DeleteThis is the one sport I have less than zero interest in.
ReplyDeleteNot a huge fan of basketball, but I did do a bracket this year.
ReplyDeleteWot's NCAA?
ReplyDeleteI fill them out, and usually do a very bad job of it. Not a basketball fan, just something to do with the office mates.
ReplyDeleteTotally into the bracket thing here.
