The Five Timers Club

They do the same sketch everytime someone makes it to five times hosting, but it is still fresh.

Jesus Christ! Was Chevy drunk? Or did he just have a stroke recently? Whew...it was almost physically painful to see these old fucks not being able to cut it anymore. The timing of the entire skit was waaaay off. Thanks for nothing, SNL...

  2. Yes! I said when I was watching it the timing was off!

Of all the sketches this is the one that was posted veganville was the best..... And here comes the Justin hate, in 3,2,1

  3. J'adore Steve Martin!

When I was a kid, I mispronounced stuff all the time. It was "whores-DEE-overs" for me, much to the adults' laughter.

  4. I don't get the JT popularity. He still looks 15 to me. Maybe that's the reason I don't watch SNL anymore.

  5. The only one that really seemed to have it going on was Steve Martin. It was painful watching Dan Ackroyd try to be a "wild and crazy guy" again.

  6. I hated the vegan ville sketch, so to each their own.

I liked the dating sketch, the diamond encrusted device, and the 5 timers club.

  7. With Justin, it a hit and miss. He gets on my nerve with his "acting" and more recently "music" but I think he's hilarious on SNL and I love that he took a jab at Kanye.

  8. The timing was so off, I wondered if it all came together at the last minute. Or maybe they were all sauced? Which would make it funnier for me.

i think they were all SAUCEYYYYY..chevy couldnt hang up the phone , that is such drunken munk type thing...Steve Martin is THEE ONLY one that pulled it off. His timing is unbeatable.
Justin thru a jab at kanye, MAN that was hilarious. He probably did the OTIS scream where ever he was at

  10. Martin Short was the best part of this:

    "I go in the SINK!"

  11. what was the Kanye Jab?? I watched and didn't see it. Love it all - chevy did sound drunk but the phone hang up was part of the skit - the chevy way from back in the day. Justin T rocks thehouse on SNL every time.

  12. Wow..Tom Hanks is really starting to show his age..seems like that was really sudden. I watched, but it was a tough call. JT bugs the crud out of me. I agree with Moonmaid that Martin Short owned the sketch.

  13. Of course it's fresh! Nobody who saw it before is watching SNL now. Their audience changes regularly.

  14. Acting like an idiot was Chevy's old schtick. It would have actually been FUNNY on Saturday if it weren't a REGULAR phone, maybe a cell phone?
The people in the audience were too young to know this, and I'm sure were ALL thinking, 'Why can't that old dude hang up that old dude phone?'

  15. What the hell did JT do to his hair? Was there a 90 yr old barber in hair and make up?

I like JT on SNL. This entire skit was so slow..The pacing could have been picked up a bit. Painful. This is why SNL has lost it's luster. Maybe they need another director because if Lorne thinks that's good he needs help.

Of course Tom Hanks has aged. It's hard keeping up with Rita and a double half her age.

  16. Someone above thought that this sketch might have been thrown together at the last second... Steve Martin posted a photo of all of the 5 timers a few days before SNL, so this was something they planned out earlier in the week. As for the Chevy phone thing, that had nothing to do with being drunk, the joke was that he couldn't hang-up the phone. It was a part of his old SNL schtick, although when he first talked I thought he was slurring. As the sketch went on that seemed to go away. It might not have been slurring, but instead some problem with his dentures.

  17. Wow, y'all are bru-tal! I laughed my ass off & thought each one was quite funny! Even JT, who I've always thought cannot act, looked like a pro here. I thought the sketch was a real treat & I loved it!

  18. I agree with Jareil. The timing may have been a little off but that was a shitload of comedy talent on that stage and I thought it was hilarious.

  19. I feel like there must be something wrong with me because I really liked 85% of the episode - and I usually fast-forward through 80% of SNL nowadays, lol. I thought with the exception of a few towards the end, it was a great episode.

  20. I have never seen past versions of this skit but I mainly was depressed to see how old and fat certain people had become.... Martin Short was the only one who has aged well.

  21. I'm with you Lola. TOUGH CROWD! I loved it. Watching all these guys together was great. I loved how as soon as Martin came on scene Chevy and Steve started laughing right away.
