Mary Tyler Moore Cast To Reunite In Hot In Cleveland

Cast members Betty White and Georgia Engel will be joined in an episode of Hot In Cleveland by Cloris Leachman, Valerie Harper and Mary Tyler Moore. It will be the first time the cast has reunited in years and will probably mark the final time Valerie Harper appears on television. Earlier this month, Valerie Harper announced she has terminal cancer and is expected to live just three months. The premise of the reunion will be Betty and Georgia getting together with their former bowling team members the Gorgeous Ladies Of Bowling.

  2. I wonder what passive aggressive zingers Betty's character will have for them - I loved that about her character on Mary Tyler Moore.

Yes please, I hope someone posts a reminder! This looks like it's going to be amazing television, with not a dry eye in any house by the time it's over. Can't wait!

      Thanks for the "chuckle."

Not having a great day today, so hearing about this reunion makes my heart feel a little lighter.

  7. In general, I think Hot in Cleveland is a good show. It has had some writing issues recently, and is susceptible to stunt casting, but it has a very strong set of characters. Wendy Malick's self-absorbed actress character, Victoria Chase, is particularly good, and Betty White's character Elka is also very funny.

  14. My BFF lives down the block from the Mary Tyler Moore house, and a few years ago some fuckers came along and "renovated" it and made it butt ugly and completely unrecognizable. It breaks my heart every time I drive by.

  15. I don't know..Sometimes it's best to live on in our memories rather than try to conjure something that has a good chance of not being amazing and possibly sad, depending upon Valerie's physical state.

I never watch Hot In Cleveland so I could be wrong. Let me know how it turns out.

  16. I hope this gets heavily promo'd when it airs, because otherwise I'll miss it - have no idea when HiC even airs but I definitely want to tune in for this.

  18. Hot In Cleveland is definitely a pretty funny show. Sure, they do some stunt casting, but for the most part its pretty hysterical. I have many LOL moments.

  19. omg, I'm so watching this. I watched every single episode of MTM and Dick Van Dyke AND Rhoda when I was growing up.

Maybe Ed Asner will be well enough to do a cameo.

  20. OMG, I will be watching. I'm on season two of "Rhoda" right now. Oh, how I love VH. I just do not want to think about what will eventually happen.

I used to enjoy "HIC" when I had cable. Not great, but decent. I mostly watched for Betty. I feel like Victoria Chase is a watered-down Nina Van Horne, so it made me feel weird. ;-)

Mooshki, that is a travesty. The house in Minneapolis, right?
