Yes, if you guessed there are 26 minutes worth of stares in the Twilight movies, you would be correct. Might as well watch it and try and blow off the rest of your Friday.
@hunter, I think Rob is actually a pretty decent actor. I've seen the first two Twilights and even though I don't think Kristen is as good an actor as he is, I have to say the script dialog they gave her in them would challenge even Meryl Streep to make bearable. Really, REALLY lame.
The Twilight films are just terrible & absolutely cringe worthy. the only time Kristen does ok with acting is when she just memorizes the script and follows directions from the director. She's an atrocious stuttering mess when she adlibs the lines. It's painful to watch. That said, I thought she was good in a handful of movies where I guess the directors forced her to memorize the dialogue and not make shit up as she went along (Into the Wild, for example) and I am looking forward to seeing On The Road (hello Garrett Hedlund!!) hopefully she brings her A game to that film and leaves behind her stuttering Twilight mess.
@Phoenix - I agree, I think Rob is a decent actor as well. He's working on a bunch of films this year that all seem exciting. I hope they turn out good!
@Julie, to me Kristen never quite seems entirely comfortable in her own skin, and you'd think that behavioral affect would have translated better onto the screen in her role as an outsider teen. But I think even she was aware of the steaming pile of crapola script they handed her, and so went overboard exaggerating her mannerisms trying to bring some life to dialog that was D.O.A.
@phoenix - haha, I can only imagine how shitty the script to Twilight read. Sometimes I wonder WHY she would ever sign onto the roll of Bella. She had a pretty strong indie career going, so I wouldn't think she'd be desperate for a job. I oddly like her (or like to dislike her? not sure, haha) but, I can't pinpoint why. I think it's because I find the Rob & Kristen relationship gossip extremely entertaining.
Kristen Stewart is actually a good actress, but the problem is, she takes herself much too seriously and people sense this. She was actually okay in the last couple of "Twilight" films. And yes, I've watched them all. After my daughter talked me into reading the books and I succumbed due to boredom (no cable or internet at the time), I felt invested.
Okay I watched 2.5 minutes of this with the sound off and I think he's a better actor than her. Never saw the series.

This made my inner 12 year old glad I'm no longer in middle school, but gave me the sads that I'm now in my 40's.

ReplyDeleteForgot to mention - I tried twice, but couldn't get halfway through the first Twilight book. Bella was so annoying.

ReplyDeleteI watched about 15 minutes of it. Just when I'd get bored, another extra-ridiculous stare would pop up and make me LOL. (Mostly from Taylor Lautner.)
ReplyDeleteOne good thing came out of the Twilight series. Metric wrote a pretty great song for one of the early ones.
ReplyDeleteAll Yours

ReplyDeleteI only made it 46 seconds in, but it's amazing that someone did this.
ReplyDeleteI'd rather read everyone's comments than watch this compilation.
ReplyDeleteSherry, you said it perfectly and succinctly.
ReplyDeleteI decided to get a little bit drunk and eat Easter candy instead. I think I made the right choice ;)
