This B list actress who is a very very good actress and is an Academy Award winner/nominee was overheard at a party being asked about her A list actor husband. The actress stated, "Well, he is a bit thick and it can be frustrating having a conversation with him about something other than how he looks, but he does look really good so that kind of makes up for all of it, doesn't it?"
Daniel Craig & Rachel Weisz
Yes. Thank you Ent!!
ReplyDeleteHeh, that's funny. I can hear her saying that in that lovely voice of hers.
ReplyDeleteBased on her comments about a man she had recently married, and if they truly reflect her thinking, she's not the sharpest knife in the drawer herself, lol.
ReplyDeleteI don't find him attractive in any way.
ReplyDelete@ethorne- you're not alone
DeleteNot do I, ethorne. He does nothing for me.
Delete*nor
DeleteMe neither. He looks like one of my Brothers in Law.
DeleteI dont get it eiither.
DeleteWhen it's all said and done, she really does have a valid point.
ReplyDelete(but only because it's Daniel Craig)
Quite a sense of humor. Daniel Craig seems quite bright, with a dark humor, and I'm sure this was said in jest, although at the same time sending the word that she's her own woman with talent and not an arm trophy.
ReplyDeleteNo Rachel, it doesn't make up for it because a) he is not attractive and b) that's just not nice. Dumb woman.
ReplyDeleteI think Rachel was being tongue in cheek and affectionate
ReplyDeleteHere's the original blind
I agree.
Deletewhen this originally posted most said it was Rachel and most said she was just being snarky. English humor, like no other in the world.
ReplyDeleteI think she was just putting a nosey person in their place in a smart sarcastic way.
Whoa!! No it most definitely does not make up for anything. Been there and done that on both sides of the equation. I'd rather be with someone who's not so hot in the looks department and be able to have fun, laugh, talk, for hours vs. a pretty blow up doll? I'll take the smart funny guy every time.
ReplyDeleteSame here Anna. I always say that looks fade and at the end of the day a smart man can always make money.
DeleteIs Rachel British or did she get bit by the Madonna bug? He's "a bit thick" is very English, I think.
ReplyDeleteIf you're thinking that what she said was mean, or that she isn't very bright herself - I think you're missing the point. This was clearly said in jest, as Daniel Craig is known to be quite intelligent. She was just being cheeky, and didn't mean for it to be taken seriously! :)
ReplyDeleteLove her cheekiness!
ReplyDeleteI think it's pretty funny.
ReplyDeleteGood english sarcasm, I'm sure!
Not true...Daniel is very bright, I think Rachel was giving someone what they expected to hear.
ReplyDeleteAnd I believe it was totally in jest. No way would you be married to someone if you felt that way about them.
ReplyDeleteThanks for clarifying things peeps. Never got the impression that Daniel is anywhere near dumb. Context matters.
ReplyDeleteI've seen him being interviewed a few times and he is both smart and funny. It would've been a joke, because she's also funny and smart. If she ever gets bored with him though I'd take him off her hands. Wouldn't even bill her for airfare.
ReplyDeleteHe's one of me free passes - him, David Tennant and Johhny Depp. I feel so ashamed.... but damn it would be a good time!
I guess it was sarcastic or it was an Enty's dream
ReplyDeletesounds like she was joking. Dont see the problem
ReplyDeleteSo British. As an American living in the UK, let me assure you that she was joking.
ReplyDeleteJessica, she's English. Real English, not Madonna English.
ReplyDeleteHe looks like Barney Rubble. But he's a cool Bond.
ReplyDeleteSounds like she was affectionately joking.
ReplyDeleteYa I do not see the hotness of DC either, but love the sarcasm.
ReplyDeleteI love her cheeky joke - and English humor is supposed to be a bit mean and dark - loves it!
ReplyDeleteFOR GOODNSS SAKE'S, SHE WAS JOKING! IT'S called (British) humor! Daniel Craig is very intelligent and well-spoken, as is Rachel. What a silly blind...
ReplyDeleteSounds like a joke
ReplyDeleteOf course, it was a joke.
ReplyDeleteCraig and Weisz met in college. Weisz is far from being just attracted to a pretty boy (which Craig is definitely not) up to the point of marrying him in the spur of a moment.
Anyway, I'm male, when I saw that this weird-looking guy had been cast as Bond, I had my doubts, but he's been delivering the best performance since Connery, he oozes charisma, and after five minutes on-screen, he IS the part.
Craig is one of the most articulate actors in interviews. He was quite frank about the failures of Quantum of Solace, he's able to explain his take on the character and defend his choices, he can tell great stories about how he "hired" Sam Mendes to direct Skyfall. And he called the Kardashians "f*cking idiots" when asked about them. Nothing screams "vapid" to me.
I love Rachel Weisz and I love Daniel Craig as Bond, and yes, I think she was joking. Brit humor and all that.
ReplyDeleteGuys, she was joking! This is completely something a British person would say as a joke. I'm Australian and we joke this way all the time too! I'm staggered that some people take these words literally. Must be the difference in national humour.
ReplyDeleteI didn't see his appeal until just a couple of weeks ago I stumbled across a Bond movie and he sucked me in within a few minutes.
ReplyDeleteYay, I guess correctly before scrolling to the answer! Gawd he's sexy though!
ReplyDeleteWell, he is sexy, so either way, she's lucky (though I'd prefer to think of him being smart also).
ReplyDeleteShe's joking. We Brits are very sarcastic.
ReplyDeleteI like Daniel Craig's Bond, and I do think Rachel was joking about him being thick (in the head), he seems to have some sense. @Munch, I also have David Tennant on my freebie list.
ReplyDeleteThey're both hot!!
ReplyDeleteHe has a world-class ass. They certainly featured it in Cowboys and Aliens, it stole the show! The camera very carefully focused on the contours of his derriere numerous times.
ReplyDelete1. She was being cheeky.
ReplyDelete2. Part of me wishes she wasn't oddly.
3. I love Daniel Craig, and think he's a snarky ass.
4. I still am angry he married her after tossing his gf of nearly a decade aside. wtf. Black 'x' on that.
5. I wish I could quit him. lol. ;P
I thought she was his beard?
ReplyDeleteno way she was serious. Daniel Craig is very smart.
ReplyDeleteWait - @Angela is a guy?
ReplyDeleteWell, I still have sympathy for
ReplyDeleteRooney Mara and what he did to her. Just hope they figure out a good way to replace him for Girl's sequel.
That sounded sooo sarcastic. If he was as thick as she said he would sound like an idiot in interviews. He's funny and articulate in every interview that I've seen.
ReplyDeleteAnd I think he's very handsome. He's the best James Bond in my opinion. Screw you, Sean Connery!
I'm so sure if that were true, she wouldn't be throwing her husband under the bus like that. It was most likely all in jest.
ReplyDeleteOh boy Americans can be so boring can't we. We take everything so literal at times. We really do need to lighten up on occasion.

ReplyDelete@shocky x
ReplyDeleteericaomega, last I heard there weren't going to be any sequels.
ReplyDeleteHe left his partner of 11+ yrs after getting caught in an affair with her/Rachel. Don't see this one lasting.
