This almost A list television actor from one of the Law & Order franchises has been hitting the coke hard. So hard that he tried to snort some fake stuff used in a recent episode.
DId not say he was still on L&O - I am going with Chris Noth - he was on Kathy Girffen's talk show recently and he was sure on something..he even annoyed Chelsea Handler.
Almost A-list TV actors, not actresses ("he" was used as an identifier), on current L&O franchise (which has to be SVU, since no other L&O franchises are currently being produced): - Ice-T - Richard Belzer
I'm inclined to say Ice-T, due to recent probs with Coco. Both guys have done films in the past, and I believe it's now commonly accepted that when Enty says "TV actor", it means more recently/more often, but not necessarily exclusively.
I love Belzer, but ask the average person on the street if they recognize his name or Ice-T's, you'd get more hits on Ice-T.
Count me in as another who bailed after Meloni left. At least he moved to True Blood for a little while...made my transition easier. I don't have a guess for this since I no longer watch SVU. Are Fin and Munch given more screen time now? I might be persuaded to give it another try if so.
Richard Belzer is a perfect guess, remember the post about "Time for Rehab" that was put up when he freaked out on some news television, and said some weird offensive comment?
Sherry - you are right, any cokehead would dab a little on their gums and know it was fake - can't imagine how I know that, a middle-aged mom like me ;)
Belzer was also in Scarface!!! LOL. But I call shenanigans on this blind. Whay idiot would snort fake coke (knowing full well it was fake)? and what real cokehead wouldn't have a supply of coke on or around him???
While Belzer had that whole Nazi thing on Fox news -- which was definitely not the antics of someone who is sober, would anyone here describe him as "almost A-list"? Same with Ice-T. When L&O is off the air, the network isn't going to be scrambling to give either their own spin-off.
Or perhaps "almost A-list" should be taken with a grain of salt?
I know SVU is the only one on-air, but I think we need to look at the cast of the original, Criminal Intent and... was there another one? Who is still on TV? Perhaps the "recent episode" isn't L&O, necessarily, but another show.
- Chris Noth (The Good Wife) - Benjamin Bratt (Private Practice) - Anthony Anderson (Guys With Kids -- is that even still on the air?) - Jeremy Sisto (Suburgatory) - Sam Waterston (The Newsroom)
Any of these include a storyline involving coke?
Wait. Now that I think about it, this is totally Sam Waterston.
@Lotta: they got the detectivedude who also was a lead in Cold Case. Not sure of his name and too lazy to look up. He does a nice job though, eventhough Meloni is missed :( He was hot, crazy and smart at the same time. New guy is more cute than smoldering xD
I do know Chris Noth was revealed here once and it wasn't pretty. Not exactly sure about what it was, but it involved him not being nice to women (beating/cheating? not sure). I like him for this blind. Other actors (especially SVU-actors) don't fit. Unless it's my boo Ice-T, but I doubt that. Besides his rap image/bady boy persona he seems like a smart dude.
@Lotta, got off my ass and looked it up. Danny Pino replaced Stabler. There is also a new blond chick, Kelli Giddis. Eventhough I like them both, the Stabler/Liv dynamic is missing :(
Not Munch! He's not almost A list, though. I can't really think of anyone on SVU who is. IceT might be, based on name recognition. This blind seems like BS.
Belzer for the win! He's been playing Munch since "Homicide" and has appeared as Munch in so many other shows, he's def almost A list...and an admitted HUGE coke fiend. Watch interviews or outtakes with Belzer and he is constantly sniffling. I still love Munch :)
Richard Belzer.
ReplyDeleteSo there's an actor so desperate they're snorting baby powder? I think this is my BI bullshit limit.
ReplyDelete@ethorne- the new avi is so glam
Delete@Lotta- :)
DeleteI'm drinking a StoliBolly in your honor
Delete@ethorne, The pearls is my favorite touch.
Delete@Gator- It's never too early!
Delete@Lotta-Oh shit, you went there. ;)
Patsy! My hero!!
DeleteEquation, love Patsy !

ReplyDeleteThere's only 1 L&O franchise still on...SVU...
ReplyDeleteAre any of them A list? Though the new SVU DA reminds me of my beloved Juan Martinez.
ReplyDeleteIced Tea
ReplyDeleteI love the L&O franchise. This better not be my secret bf, VDO!
ReplyDeleteDid we jump back in time today to a year where there were multiple L&O franchises?
ReplyDeleteI kinda stopped watching SVU after Meloni peaced out. Did anyone "replace" him?

@Lotta Meloni is irreplaceable; I also bailed after he put up the duece sign.

ReplyDeleteIce T is anti drug and has never even drank.
ReplyDeleteWe dont turn our backs on our own. We are family. DUN DUN DUN. Delete this Blind Item!.
ReplyDelete=p
@dragon-lol
DeleteSeriously a coke head knows stunt coke from real coke.
ReplyDeleteB, nope, the new people get the time, and they are still rather annoying, imo.
ReplyDeleteNot that this blind would be about them, but isn't L&O UK still being produced as well?
Richard Belzer is a perfect guess, remember the post about "Time for Rehab" that was put up when he freaked out on some news television, and said some weird offensive comment?
ReplyDeleteYeah, I co-sign that this is BI BS
ReplyDeleteIsn't Criminal Intent on FX now? Or maybe USA channel?? I'd go with Vincent DiOnofrio. He always looks bloated to me.
ReplyDeleteI love L&O UK so freaking much.
ReplyDeleteRichard Belzer was A+ in the 80's. He was on TV every single week: either SNL, the Tonight Show or Letterman.
ReplyDeleteI would go with the Chris Noth theory.
ReplyDeleteEasy easy that it is Belzer. Dude was coked out of his mind in that morning show interview last year. I think it was last year.
ReplyDeleteSherry - you are right, any cokehead would dab a little on their gums and know it was fake - can't imagine how I know that, a middle-aged mom like me ;)

I thought Chris was drunk as a skunk on Kathy's show. I don't think I've ever watched a complete episode of L&O.
ReplyDeleteYeah, not so much. Total BS

I'm less inclined to believe a cokehead would try to snort something obviously fake. Unless you're taping Jackass.
