Youngest Female Billionaire In The US Is 30 - Been Married 3 Times - Races Cars - Owns In-N-Out

For much of the past two years, Bloomberg has been trying to track down hidden money or hidden billionaires and have found close to 100 that Forbes never had on any list. One of the most recent billionaires they found which doesn't seem that hard f you think about it is Lynsi Torres. Lynsi is 30 years old. She has been married three times and loves racing cars. She has a set of twins and is the youngest female billionaire in the US. Oh, and the reason I love her other than her obvious fondness for getting married frequently is that she owns In-N-Out. When she turned 30 she got half the company and when she turns 35 she gets the other half. Yeah that's right. Free In-N-Out if you marry her. She had me at double double. Animal style. Lynsi inherited the company after a series of deaths in the family which left her the sole surviving family member. No one is sure whether she will keep the company or sell it when she turns 35. I hope she keeps it because if she sells it then there is no way the new owners won't franchise it and then it will just be another fast food place.

  4. I read an article about her - I want to say last year - that talked about how secretive she is, refusing to do interviews, etc. Her house is freaking HUGE, 7 bedrooms, 16 baths, etc. I guess if I had billions of $, I'd keep it a secret, too.

Single, no onions or sauce, protein style with extra lettuce and pickles. :)

  5. Saw this on Daily Mail yesterday and got an In-N-Out craving so I had a double-double animal-style with chilies. Yum.

  6. I am impressed that at 30 rs old she is maintaining privacy. Good for her. I'd be afraid of not knowing who my friends were with that much money, and that many burgers.
I am curious, though, she's been married 3 times?! And she's only 30?! Those aren't great odds, but maybe why she is SO secretive.

  8. I fell in love with in-n-out when visiting LA. So good!! Maybe not franchise, but set up one spot in NY? I'd be forever happy. Best burger :)

  9. I hear so much about in-n-out - has anyone from the Midwest tried a burger and have one in the Midwest to compare them to?

  10. @Ms Cool - Try Five Guys. That's the "rivalry", though I still much prefer In-N-Out. Thank God my BF's parents live in Cali, and I'll also be in Vegas next month.

  11. Good to know Five Guys is close. I LOVE Five Guys!

  12. The burgers, I meant. (blushing)

  13. I hope they do franchise! I'd really like to try one. (But we do have Five Guys, and that is one incredible burger...)

  14. Thanks, Amber. I think Five Guys burgers are just OK but their fries are awesome.

We have one nice custard stands in Wisconsin and one of them makes the best hamburgers ever so if you ever get to SE Wisconsin, try LeDuc's.

  15. No franchise!! It'll ruin it!!

Here's a sandwich suggestion for all of you that have access to In N Out: Grilled cheese with light onions and pickles ONLY (no spread). Sooo good! But if I were eating a double double, I always get extra spread :)

Grilled Cheese, grilled onions, extra tomato.
Fries, extra well done, animal style.

  16. That should read "We have SOME nice custard stands."

    Totally funny, Silly Girl.

  17. I think maybe marriage isn't for you, sweetie! It's okay to not be married!

I'm off to do things today. Thanks everyone for lifting me out of my shit-tastic mood. I found out last night the b/f hasn't paid the electric bill in 3 months; he *forgot* to get kitty food (but remembered the gahddamn beer, of course!) and was too drunk to go out and get some. I feel as if I'm at the breaking point with him and his teenage boy mentality and I just need to vent. Thanks! <3

  18. Five Guys seems to be the closest (to me anyway) - I definitely prefer their fries over In-n-Out.

Reeses, show him the tattoo girl article and tell him you're going to get him completely smashed and then tattoo "I heart Donald Trump" on his face. :b

Hope the rest of your day is good! I'm off to clean the mansion.

  19. New York never had one, but I kinda feel sorry for her no family but her twins..thats rough.

  20. Has she maintained In-N-Out's corporate policy of donating money to anti-abortion groups? I do love their burgers and shakes but I try to avoid patronizing them as much as possible due to their anti-abortion "philanthropy."

    1. To each his own.I'm sure In/Out's customers are pro-choice,no choice, used abortion as birth control, leave babies at home alone while partyingnwhatever. As long as the money is green and no one is spitting in the food.

    2. @B. Profane Where did you hear that? Not being bitchy; serious question. I just did a google search and didn't come up with anything about In N Out being anti-abortion. Just the thing about bible passages on the cups and wrappers

  22. I've tried In-N-Out & 5 Guys and they're really good, but I really, really, really love Steak 'n Shake. Actually, I stayed home sick today, maybe I'll make a run over there for a steakburger, onion rings, and a chocolate shake. YUM!

  23. This chick is 30?? I don't think so.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I love 5 Guys, but alas, live in the midwest so no In and Out burgers.

But, if anyone lives on the north side of Chicago, and wants a good burger, try DMK on Sheffield. Perfectly sized and perfectly wet with condiments.

  25. We have one in my area, but I don't eat there. I prefer not getting a side of religion with my burger, no matter how subtle. Somehow, I don't think they miss my business.

    ReplyDelete
  26. After reading the headline, I was ready to be suspicious of her, but sometime you just win life's lottery. Good for her for keeping private. I had no idea In-n-Out had any such religious leanings.

We have both Five Guys and In-n-Out and I prefer In-n-Out by FAR! The texture of the bun and fresh ingredients just can't be beat. Some don't care for their fries, they are just fresh, fried, potatoes, but if you can get just the right amount of salt on them, they taste exactly like Lay's Potato Chips.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I love In-N-Out too, but was disturbed by the claim in the Bloomberg article that she funds a non-profit that proselytizes her Christian beliefs in third world countries, especially Africa. Also that there are very small religiously inspired phrases printed on the drink cups. So the continued anti-abortion funding is feasible.

They have expanded into the Dallas area. They built a meat processing facility and their business caveat is that their trucks must be able to reach their outlets within one day so the meat is not frozen and as fresh as possible.

    1. amazonblue, it's ok to have people against abortion. It's also Ok for people to support Christianity.

  28. Sad that she has lost all of her family by age 30. Hope she doesn't franchise and continues to live quietly.

I like Five Guys, but prefer In N Out. Its a must visit while in Vegas or Cali.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Is that a Cali thing?

    ReplyDelete
  30. Oh, Enty, you have finally found your soul mate.

  31. I think I'm fascinated by this Bloomberg series, and by this woman in particular. Talk about the American dream...sheesh. Good for her.

As for burgers, love In/Out when visiting out west. Have to settle for 5 Guys here in FL now.

@Audrey-where on Sheffield is DMK? Must be new since I lived in Chi. I was at Southport/Addison for years until I couldn't handle winter anymore. Will have to add it to my list for places to check out on my next trip back.

If there are In'nOuts in the Dallas metro (several), doesn't that constitute a franchise?

    ReplyDelete
  37. OMG Kind Hearts and Coronets is the best! Check out the Ruling Class with Peter O'Toole. Great, great, great

    ReplyDelete
  38. @Dulcinea, a franchise is when they are NOT all owned by the original owner. Big Boy is franchised, for example. Not all the owners are the same, and they pay fees back to the original owner.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I prefer 5 Guys, there's more meat in the burgers whereas with InO, there's just a very thin strip of meat. InO is pretty good though.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Holy wonk eye... And if I owned In and Out I'd be a BILLION pounds!!! None in Canada, thankfully, but I do like 5 Guys which are spreading like wild fire here now! I did have it in Vegas in Nov, first time in a few years and JUST as good as I remember!!!

    ReplyDelete
  41. "@B. Profane Where did you hear that?"

Fair question. As I recall, I read that in a Bay Area alternative weekly. I probably didn't question it because of the bible verses on their packaging.

BTW, since we're on the subject, the best burgers in the world are made by Nationwide Freezer Meats in downtown Sacramento. I have eaten burgers all over the US and their steakburger is the best I've ever tasted.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I've not had In and Out but I do enjoy Smashburger. Truffle and mushroom with Swiss. Mmmmm.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Lived in California just about all my life, still don't understand the obsession with In and Out, maybe it's because I don't like fake yellow cheese and excessive salt? Five Guys is much better, but there's a local family owned place down the road from me that is better than both of them.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I am craving a double double right now

    ReplyDelete
  45. Five Guys is overrated. I've tried them a few times, and their burgers were always overcooked.. Last time I got food poisoning. I like Culvers and Steak and Shake

    ReplyDelete
  46. I've been to In-n-Out once. The bible quotes on all their packaging was enough for me, thanks. Their burger wasn't THAT good, although I have to be honest and say that I might feel differently if they used mayo and not their secret sauce/thousand island dressing, but still, I'm pro-choice so I dislike to give my dollars to an organization that is anti-abortion.

Five Guys makes a good burger but the burger and fries are a little too greasy and I feel like I need a shower afterward.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Three marriages? Bible verse on bottom of paper good be gone! Lol

Double cheese burger full onions, half animal...fries extra crispy, root beer large. Oh man... the shirts were "in" at Poston Jr. High, 91-93.

  49. I don't get the love for Five Guys burgers. The condiments and fixings overpower the burger. Plus it's way too greasy. Cajun fries are fab though!

    ReplyDelete
  50. Hell, I hope she doesn't franchise when she gets full control. I remember when she was younger she wanted the dinosaurs out so she could do so. I hope she's changed her mind now that she's gotten older. Keep in the family and the quality the same is what I say.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Big Boy? In-N-Out with Five Guys?

Mine's a double entendre with fries?

    ReplyDelete
  52. I don't think five guys or in n out are that great. The seasoning at in n out grosses me out, and 5guys is greasy. I'd rather just make one myself. Last week I combined hamburger with chorizo for a burger patty that knocked my socks off. If I have to have a burger from a fast food place, I still prefer a simple McDonald's double cheeseburger.

    ReplyDelete
  53. There was a book written about the franchise and part of the review states "it's never clear whether In-N-Out's conservatism is a conscious business strategy, a personal preference of the owners or plain complacency". I could not find anything about their Christianity or bible verses turning into funding for an anti abortion campaign. I did find a slew of copycat recipes and sauces for In-n-Out on line:) 5 Guys- fries only.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Double double served protein style with cheese & pickles only. Extra crispy fries, please!

    ReplyDelete
  55. Never had it, but wouldn't be a customer. Up here in Canada I love Harvey's & Hero's :).

    ReplyDelete
  56. Such an old story. The only reason this made the media rounds is because some dingbat valued In-n-Out at slightly over $1B. It has been valued at $2B and even much less in the past. But, the point is none of this matters at all because these are just guesses as to the value of a company without really looking at their books. In other words, she has always been worth a ton of money. There is no story here.

    ReplyDelete
  57. There's bible verses on the wrappers and packages? I'm in MI, have never tried In N Out, but that alone sorta turns me off. I haven't heard of Five Guys either. If there are some in Michigan, it must not be near me.

    ReplyDelete
  58. @Puggle, I'm in Michigan, too. 5 Guys are all over the place! What area are you in?

    ReplyDelete
  59. @Silly, Around the capital area. I actually just googled it, and there is one about twenty minutes away. This is the first time I have ever heard of the place!

    ReplyDelete
  60. If you like burgers, you have to try them out! They are greasy, but SO good! We also have Smashburger out here, but I've never been there.

    ReplyDelete
  61. How in the world does a house with 7 bedrooms have 16 bathrooms? SIXTEEN?
I can see each bedroom having a bathroom and obviously a guest bathroom on each floor, but how many freakin floors does she have?
    SIXTEEN BATHROOMS???

That's a lot of toilet tissue.

Oh and Ent, I'm pretty sure they have already done the franchise thing. An In-N-Out is set to open here in Austin in a couple of months.

    ReplyDelete
  62. As an Australian, I am SO JEALOUS of all the dirt cheap fast food options and variety you guys have. Besides McDonalds, KFC, Pizza Hut and Hungry Jacks (Burger King)...we really don't have anything else. Seriously!

    ReplyDelete
  63. The reason In-N-Out isn't EVERYWHERE is because they actually do have their meat fresh. They don't make a location where it is more than a day away from the processing plant.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Damn, I must have been in a fast food haze because I def do not remember seeing Bible verses of the wrappers when I tried them back in Vegas.

I think Steak n Shake, In N Out and Five Guys are all the same. The best burgers I've ever had are from just random restaurants. The Vortex in ATL has a great burger. Mmmm...burgers.
