Today Show Goes Kneepads For Justin Bieber's Mom

You know, at some point you would expect a news organization to actually try and report on some news or make some news with some journalistic questions. Apparently that news organization is not Today. Yesterday they had Justin Bieber's mom on the show and instead of asking her questions about all the trouble Justin has got into lately or quizzing her more deeply about what she does with the funds from her film or her book they just talked about Selena Gomez and how she is a good person for Justin and how she is nervous about Justin hosting SNL. Why even put her on the air? I bet NBC agreed to so they could have Justin on SNL.

  2. The Today show is a shill for the celebrities and I'll bet you are right about the SNL connection.

  3. Wait. What?
    Beiber is hosting SNL?

That's it. I'm now crouching beneath my desk with my head between my legs.
Because it's surely the end of the world.

What is she gonna say about his drugging/drinking that we don't know already? She probably feels like all moms do about the subject.

    Keep it light...

  5. When the kid is paying ALL the bills your "P" card (parent card) gets pulled. She chooses to subscibe to The Dina Lohan's School of Parenting. Instead of honestly talking to your child about actions and consequences.

...wait He is famous. There are no consequences.

  6. It's ok enty, with the Today Show's ratings, who even cares to watch that shitty show?

    Couldn't have said it better!!!

  8. As far as I know, Justin hasn't lived with her in years. He was off being "parented" by Usher and his swagger coach on the road, and yes, that is someone's actual job title.
Justin is supporting her, what can she say without jeopardizing her lifestyle?

  9. Of course it was a discussion promo for Justin's upcoming SNL gig. You're disappointed she wasn't tricked into appearing just so they could embarrass her? Sometimes I wonder about you Enty.

  10. Give it up wankers, she is a cool chick. I have so much respect for her. Her attitude and willingness to discuss her past in order to help others is beyond admirable. She is a strong woman and a loving mother. Bieber is a good guy as well. He's not perfect, no one is.

Agree with Derek! An whoever said what parent wants to talk about that. Im sure she worries like every parent of a teenager.
And he's probably doing what normal boys that ag would do in his situation.
He'll grow out of it, seems to have a pretty good foundation.

  12. Any parent who pimps out a school-age child in the hopes he or she can then live off the income earned is an epic fail in my books. This includes acting, music and sports. Children are not income-providers.

Touchy about this today as last night after my 7 year old's hockey practice I had to listen to another mother fret about how she needs to get her son into the 'right' hockey schools with the 'right' kids so he can be something 'big'. Wanted to puke on her.

    1. That lady must lack self awareness. I'm not sure I could endure that conversation without being rude.

    2. elle, you're describing my SIL and her friends. I don't even try to engage in their conversations. I call them the aliens...

  13. oh i see the Bieber tweens are awake!

Get you head out of the sand, he's an entitled dickhead with $100 000 killing machines he refers to as cars....when he's not fucking high as a kite or trying to get his marshmallow dick in a VS model.

It's only a matter of time before someone gets hurt or arrested.

And then that happens who will be to blame? The kid no one wanted to say "No" to or the mom to busy on a book tour to see her son is on a spiral down?

Am I the only one who finds his mom a bit creepy? Why do we even know who she is? Why has she written a book? Doesn't she have a hobby? Probably not. Probably obsessed with her son because he is her everything. Bleh. I look forward to seeing them in 20 years when she is his date to the opening of the new Hard Rock Boise where only one camera man shows up...

How come the mom looks like a man and the son looks like a girl?

  16. Funny how all the Beibettes are out in force on this post! It's hardly even relevant, just like her. SO not relevant to anything. Why is she even here?! Oh, yea, to continue her 15 minutes of fame. God, isn't it almost up yet?!?!

  17. Through some freak of channel changing I saw this interview.

I thought she seemed very nervous, and maybe not the sharpest knife in the drawer. She's just so proud of her son, and just wants him to live his dream, to paraphrase the gist of her answers to questions.

Knowing what I know from this site, I thought she had her head firmly shoved up her own ass.

  18. LOL @ Syko, I almost blew chocolate frosty over my keyboard.

And are Biebs' PR posting on here? Derek Harvey? No snark, I'm genuinely curious.

  19. i think we can all agree 'the today show' is basically a televised version of kneepads...but yeah, it is kind of sad mamma patty can't see the forest for the trees. she's not a bad lady and she's not pimping out the kid...i've worked w/ her before and she's legit a very loving mother. i do think she's blinded by little bieb's actions of late and that's kind of sad, she should the first one to sit that kid down and set him straight. i don't think she's deliberately trying to turn a blind eye, and i don't think bieb's is a bad seed at core. i do think both need to get it together quick tho, bc at this rate it isn't going to end well for either of them.

  20. ellehpee, my snarky response to these crased hockey moms is, after she rambles on about her sons athletic accomplishments so what is your son's math and science test scores like?

We as a nation care more about stupid trophies than getting a real education. They is why I quit at 12, after hearing an uncle go on and on about some swimming record he broke at 16 was the deal breaker. I do not feel like having a life that peaked at 16.

  22. @gary, ugh, don't encourage me on this one! I couldn't get my kid's gear off and out of that dressing room fast enough. The sad part is her son is the least-skilled kid on the team.

Both of my sons are very athletic but we have always told them sports are a way to keep healthy and learn to be part of a team - not as a way to make a living.

I'd much rather see them get Ph.d's and find the cure for cancer than be a professional athlete.

  23. @ Agent It, my sympathies.

My husband and I made a conscious decision to not get too friendly with any of the other hockey parents, because most of them are deluded, overbearing assholes.

Thankfully only one of my sons plays hockey, and I'm really hoping he loses interest in a few years. He's gifted athletically so he'll have plenty of other sports with hopefully less-psycho parents to play.
