      It may be darts but if they can be mistaken for nipples, a big no no for the dressmaker

      Not only can the darts be mistaken for nipples, but the neckline can be mistaken for an apron. The latter is the more egregious error of this dress, IMO.

    Yeah, I think it was unfortunate dart shadows as well. Britney DOES look great; she should keep that look.

    Okay, does anyone else think Aniston looked a little bit different? I kept studying the photos last night trying to put my finger on it. She probably just got her forehead tightened up. Just me? Makeup?

    Halle Berry looks like an extra from Starlight Express.

    JLaw's dress would make a beautiful wedding gown.

    AnnE's dress was terrible and really magnified her Mr. Ed features.

    I like the way Jen Aniston looked. It was a nice departure from her usual look.

    I think Jessica Chastain looked magnificent.

    I'm not even going to comment on the fug that is Chelsea Handler and Nicki Minaj.

    JLaw was the Belle of the ball.

    Anne had on pasties you could see them when age was giving her speech so I think that's just an unfortunate seam.

    I like that Jen A tried something different for once. Her hair looks fine. She knows how to look her best.

    Nicki is the one who NEEDS to go brunette.

    I had on the Oscars as background noise last night, and when Jessica Chastain came out with Jen Garner, I made my husband watch and asked him if he thought she looks like Ron Howard. He has never even seen JC before, but he was kinda blown away and said Yes, and didn't believe me when I said I don't see the resemblance. He thought I was fucking around for a really long time. "You swear that's not his daughter?" "I need to google it." "Are you lying to me?"
    I never really put much stock into the whole Ron Howard Might Be Her Dad till that moment.

    Btw---Body language last night---Red carpet interview, Michael Douglas a CZJ did not touch. When one would speak, the other would be looking around, and then once in awhile, caught themselves and corrected it in a half-assed effort. They looked uncomfortable together, seriously. i wonder is the NE was right?

    Also, Clooney & Kiebler were definitely chillier than I've ever seen.

    seaward--My BF is an old AGS fan, Happy Days, EVERYTHING Ron Howard ever did. I admit I told him about the gossip a few months ago, but when JC came out last night he quietly blurted..."Whoa, she looks JUST LIKE him."

    This is a GUY. And if a girl's hot, he's normally blinded. But even him, it took his breath away last night, the resemblance.

    Here is another example of how Brit ALMOST gets it right. The dress would have been perfect without the shoulder padded sleeves.

    I thought Chastain look gorgeous on screen. Sideways in the pic, that dress is doing her no favors.

    Do not like Jennifer A's hair. Gorgeous dress needs sleek hair, a curl, an updo, anything but "perfectly messy."

    Halle may be crazy but she can dress.

    I know they're darts, but the first thing I thought was NIPS OSCAR! Not a good choice, nor were the bangs. I loved her so much in Devil Wears Prada. :/

    AnnE looked horriblE. It looked like a cheap Marla Singer dress.

    My brother asked me if JC was related to Bryce Dallas Howard, cause they look the same. Apparently JCs dad passed away this month.

    Today I read the DM and they were talking about Jessica attending the Oscars and not her biological father's funeral. Growing up, her last name was Howard. She changed it to her mom's maiden name, Chastain, when she started acting.

    If Anne's dress were a color, it would be, 'Who does she think she is, so flashy color-wearer!'

    If Anne's dress were big like JLaw's or Amy Adams, it would be 'Who does Anne think she is, deserving all that fabric! Anne's all *look at me*! I'm ostentatious!'

    Also her speeches are long. Well, she had to think she had a good chance to win---and she is THANKING the many many many who helped her. If she hadn't thanked 'enough' people, or had not been excited about winning she'd be 'ungrateful.'

    SO sick of the Anne hate. I'll bet she shows up to work on time too, bitch makin' everybody else look bad.

    Jessie: J-Law looked fantastic in a body-hugging dress on her way to the Vanity Fair party. It was metallic and she looked awesome. I liked both her dresses last night.

    Halle is channeling Dynasty, but damn, she just doesn't age. Sofa king hot. And I like that she wore something different.

    Loved Jennifer Lawrence's dress. It looked like cake, but in a good way!
    Anne H...just no. That dress didn't even fit her, for chrissakes!
    As for Jennifer Aniston, I love that red dress, and hair down is kind of her thing...but I did think that the smoking is starting to catch up with her face. And also, she seemed hammered.

      Libby- my grandma used to make clothes and still hems stuff. We were just talking about a dress I have with immaculate boob stitching. Anne's looked rushed but I could tell immediately that it was not her nipples. It drives me nuts that people were and are say that. But like you said above, she just can't win right now everything she does is "calculated" ;)

    My bf is an old crank. He agrees JC looks JUST like Ron Howard and side by side BDH JC could pull off being twins. BUT he says it doesn't matter and I am crazy for spending so much time googling at it. He thinks its just because she is a vibrant red head and so are they, which there are not many of in hwood.

    Brit looked amazing compared to recently. She's on the way back.

    AnnE Heffaway was dressed poorly. I can be objective and that was just not a flattering garment for her. No shade.

    Didn't care for the geo-patterned metallic dresses. Too harsh as we're approaching Spring.

    Jen looked lovely. That red/tangerine looked great on her and the dress fit so very well.

    Sherry--SO glad you saw it, too! MD really did look so healthy and I was happy. But then I noticed the tension. So glad you did too, i'm not too crazy!

    mistand--That's kinda why i cut Anne some slack. Holy shit, if that happened to any of us--the accolades, the awards after working & dreaming of winning an Oscar for so long (like so many kids have forever)? I mean, she is a human being. If any of us got employee of the year, we'd probably act annoyingly happy too.

    Another seamstress checking in re: Anne's dress; yes, those are darts, and they're not very well done, either. There are ways of doing darts that don't make you look as if your nipples could cut glass, but clearly whoever made that particular dress didn't bother with any of them, which was a shame for Anne.

    I thought there were a lot of really pretty dresses. I especially loved Zoe Saldana's and Stacy Kiebler's. Charlize Theron *is* a goddess.

    Britney looks really good there! I mean, compared to what she wears for daily Starbucks run. I like that hair color on her better too.
