I'm Canadian, and have a serious girl-crush on Michelle Obama - she just seems like someone I could share a few glasses of wine with and have a great time.
Contrast this with our current Prime Minister's wife who I think may be taken out of a cupboard and wound up before every political event...ugh. The Harper's are two of the stiffest, dullest people ever to live on Sussex Drive.
Love her! She's a wonderful role model for ladies!
This was way funnier than I expected, Michelle is just hilarious! Can you imagine Cindy McCain or Ann Romney doing this? I adore their family and wish them all the best :)
I am always amazed at the amount of bigotry in this country it makes me sad and knowing this is at the heart of the GOP unwillingness to work with our President .....but then how can you expect anything different from people still fighting The Civil War....
Tthat was really cute. She did a hell of alot better than my mom did back in the day when she'd "cut a rug" to YOU CAN'T TOUCH THIS by MC Hammer. (Eyeroll)
The memory still haunts us, and she continues to have no shame about it.

Ha ha ha ha Ha ha ha ha Ha ha ha ha Ha ha ha ha
If people as stupid as you didn't exist, the right would invent them for comedic purposes.
Oh my God people! This is jusr suppose to be a fun video! Not some political bullcrap! She's having fun and most humans watching it find it fun to. If you don't like her then why click on the video?
Hopefully no one will bite my head off for saying this but I don't understand why when someone says they don't like the Obamas, people think they are racist. Perhaps they just don't like them regardless of the color of their skin.
They look like they're having a great time in the video.
Why bring politics into this? Why bring up other potential first ladies? Would Jackie Kennedy do this? I doubt it.Jay wasn't the first one to do it to bring up the politics..
I so heart First Lady Obama. I'd love to do lunch with her. She she seems so articulate, intelligent and has a great sense of humor. She's a class act.
"I don't understand why when someone says they don't like the Obamas, people think they are racist. Perhaps they just don't like them regardless of the color of their skin. "
Because unfortunately, a lot of people who don't like Obama for whatever reason throw down the race card. Like this. Unfortunately, once that starts happening a lot - even with GOP officials and councilmen - the suspicion of motivation is there. FWIW, I don't think most people automatically assume racism, but somehow, it always comes up at some point.
And @Jay was just being a jerk. I have zero doubt in my mind he'd come back and start the race baiting.
My question stemmed from the bigotry comment and the GOP still fighting the civil war. I happen to be a Republican and while I'm not the biggest Obama fan, it has absolutely nothing to do with race. I just don't agree with their politics. I get extremely offended by people thinking I'm a racist based on my political beliefs.
And fyi - Abraham Lincoln was a Republican. Most Americans don't remember that fact.
Oh my goodness, Enty, you baited the rightwingers so well with this one. You've got one shrill queen mouthing off about how emburhazzed her is 'n shit, and you've got other people doing the whole "there is nothing unusual or unprecedented in the explosion of Nazi hate that the GOP has engaged in since 2008," and it's all turning into a circus. Please, no more rightwing-baiting. It's a sad reminder of just how much noise ignorant people can make.
Oh yes, a wonderful role model. Ride your husband's political coattails to a $300,000 job that hasn't been filled since she left. Whatever. You all need to stop worshiping politicians - no matter what their political bent. They are to serve us, not the other way around.
Well the haters will rage on but I think what you said was brave. For people who want to break their arms patting themselves on the backs for how supposedly "tolerant" they are (insert huge eye roll here) I too don't care for Michelle Obama. Oh sure, the tidal wave of name calling will certainly roll my way, but I feel like instead of doing some real good with her postion, she wastes time with cheesy stunts like these and with her appearances on the View. Notice that when the Sandy Hook killings took place, she didn't do what most first ladies would and actually visit the area and try to help console those people but instead wrote an "open letter"? Or when the Gulf spill took place she jetted off to Spain instead of going down to the Gulf and trying to raise the morale of that region.
Sorry, but I look towards entertainers to entertain me. I look towards the first lady to have a higher purpose than that. So...let the name calling begin.

Ughhhh...can't stand Michelle Obama. It's an embarrassment that the first lady and President feel the need to do the talk show circuits. I think it's very low classy.

ReplyDeleteAwesome!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteJimmy needs to work on his "tuck" a little though. LOL!
ReplyDeleteThat just makes me love the Obamas that much more. Michelle defines coolness!!!
ReplyDeleteThat was cute. She's a cool mom.
ReplyDeleteIf this is a mid-life crisis (in FLOTUS' own words), I'm loving it!
ReplyDeleteI also loved when POTUS slow jammed the news with Jimmy Fallon.
ReplyDeleteI am always amazed at the amount of bigotry in this country it makes me sad and knowing this is at the heart of the GOP unwillingness to work with our President .....but then how can you expect anything different from people still fighting The Civil War....
ReplyDeleteThis made me laugh. She's got some pretty good moves.

Love it! :)
ReplyDeleteITA, timebob!
Michelle for prez
ReplyDeleteMichelle Obama is so beautiful and cool.
ReplyDeleteThe gushing comments about this embarrassment of a 1st lady are disturbing.
ReplyDeleteIf you think Michelle Obama is "fun" you must have a pretty crappy existence.
And you have tiny little penis. That's why you need those big old guns and trucks.

@Jay, so they invented you instead?
DeleteAwwww!!! So cute!
ReplyDeleteWow, Jay, lighten up!
Whoa. Officially the coolest FLOTUS (which sounds awful, so forget I said that). The first lady of cool.
ReplyDeleteYep, that's better. How cool she is!
I'm pretty sure Michelle Obama does not like white people. I'm a white person. Michelle, you rock. Dance on!
Jay you must have a pretty crappy existence if you need to put down people on a BLOG to make yourself feel superior.
ReplyDeletePretty sure that is what everyone does here.
DeleteI loved this and yes, add myself to having a girl crush on our cool First Lady Michelle too!! Loved it!!
ReplyDeleteOh my God people! This is jusr suppose to be a fun video! Not some political bullcrap! She's having fun and most humans watching it find it fun to. If you don't like her then why click on the video?

ReplyDeleteLighten up Jay. Sounds to me like you have some serious issues.
ReplyDeleteThe skit was cute:-)
ReplyDeleteI'm late to this party! I love how Michelle has a personality, and a good one. She is a lovely FLOTUS, and also a genuinely awesome person.
ReplyDeleteI so heart First Lady Obama. I'd love to do lunch with her. She she seems so articulate, intelligent and has a great sense of humor. She's a class act.
ReplyDeleteAgree with Jay, although I hope I would have said it a bit better. trotting out the old race card for obama's failings is really cheap.
ReplyDeleteI have never loved a First Lady more.
ReplyDeleteWow. When did race come in to play? Did I miss something?
ReplyDelete@Katie,

I'm with Wella. I thought, "Holy crap, Jimmy in drag looks exactly like Leann Rimes!" I'm glad it wasn't just me.
ReplyDeleteAlso, go lie down and take a pill, Jay. Tsssht. Heaven forbid a public figure have a sense of humor and not be all business all the time.
And hi everyone else from lurkytown.
