Lucy Lawless Sentenced To Community Service For Trespassing
Lucy Lawless and 7 other people from Greenpeace were sentenced to 120 hours of community service for trespassing on an oil drilling ship. A year ago, all of them boarded the ship and refused to leave. Lucy spent her four days on top of the 174 foot tower where she blogged and took photos and kept the world apprised of what she was doing. Shell had wanted the defendants to pay all the costs of the delay which was about $500K. Instead, the judge today just gave them community service and fined them $500 each.
I think Kai would fit in with Xena's posse.
ReplyDeleteI always have to chuckle when people like GreenPeace are sentenced to community service. I'm sure they do a lot of community service as it is so it's not really a punishment.
ReplyDeleteLike Chris Brown.
DeleteI finally watched Kai's interview yesterday...omg what an amazing spirit he has.
ReplyDeleteTerri it is pretty funny...community service to the court is Tuesday for environmentalists
ReplyDeleteChris Brown got 150 hours right? That's a fair judgement.
ReplyDeleteHahahaha! Greenpeace 1, Shell 0
ReplyDeleteXena Forest Warrior
ReplyDeleteGood for her!
ReplyDeleteGood for Lucy! I wonder if the ship they were protesting was the one that's leaking off the coast of Alaska right now.
ReplyDeleteIs Xena her last job?
ReplyDeleteI read some critic's column saying that when you see an celeb doing more and more charities and participating in causes...they're not working. No movie roles are coming in.
She's definitely had other roles since Xena. X-Files, Battlestar Galactica, Spartacus and, most recently, Parks and Recreation. She's by no means an out-of-work actor - just a hardcore environmentalist.
DeleteLove you Lucy...
ReplyDeleteShe's great. She once got her tit out while she was performing
ReplyDeleteThe National Anthem before a Red Wings playoff game. Didn't even skip a beat. It's on Youtube.
I wonder if you can serve community service by volunteering for Greenpeace?
ReplyDeleteHow the hell did her phone last for 4 days? Mine won't even last 2 hours if I'm surfing the net continuously!

ReplyDeleteMy first thought was that you get almost as much time for saving the planet as you do beating down a woman. Further proof that corporations pretty much own our justice system. And our government. And us.
ReplyDeleteShiiit, you get more time for dogfighting than for killing another black man.
DeleteWPB @ itz finest.
These people!! 500k a day is huge money and great paying jobs to many people there from low-skilled cooks to highly skilled engineers. It's easy to hate big oil, but in terms of the global economy, jobs, and every piece of plastic ever made, they actually are not evil. The reason Oklahoma City has (what was last fall) the lowest unemployment rate for a metro in the country, oil. And good paying jobs! Number two was DC, public jobs. Just saying.
ReplyDeleteShell will sue next for civil charges, and will rightfully win. I wonder if she rides a bicycle for transportation. A wooden bicycle.
ReplyDeleteShe was also on some other show as an FBI agent but darn it if I can't remember which show it was. Wait I looked it up, it was Veronica Mars!
ReplyDeleteI love Lucy!!
