Lindsey Vonn Seriously Injured At World Championships
Just a short time ago, Lindsey Vonn was seriously injured at the World Alpine Skiing Championship in Austria and was awaiting a medical airlift. Al the skiers had been complaining about the conditions and not being able to see very well. Below is the video of Lindsey crashing. It is not graphic. It looks like things you would see on a fail video.
Not good. It sadly looks like her head hit first.
ReplyDeleteThat looks pretty bad, she head planted into the snow and then skid along like that. Hopefully she is able to recover and continue to compete.
ReplyDeleteOh man. Best wishes, hometown girl.
ReplyDeleteYa, I'm sure Tiger will take good care of her during her recovery (side eye)
ReplyDeleteTiger's deep inside some other snowbunny. He don't love 'em hoes.
DeleteOn tmz, I read this as Lindsey Lohan. Geez!
ReplyDeleteShe's so wonderful to watch. Hope she is OK.
ReplyDeleteOh man, I hope she's okay. :/
ReplyDeleteI have a serious allergy to extreme sports. Sliding on sticks on snow is extreme, IMO. I'm a big, fat chicken but I do admire the spunk of those who do this kind of stuff.
Another one hoping she makes a full recovery.
ReplyDeleteThe poor girl - hope she's all right and that it's nothing permanent.
ReplyDeleteSee, this is why I hate the fail videos, we have no idea how seriously people are injured due to their "funny" fail...
ReplyDeleteI hate the *fail* videos, too. I cringe hard when I watch them, so I don't. Reading up above that she hit her head is more than enough for me. :/
ReplyDeleteI hate 'fail' videos also. What little info out there says that she hurt her right knee. Hope she comes back. It's about one year to the day from the start of the 2014 Winter Olympics...
ReplyDeleteThat whatcha get for talking about Tiger.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the crash warning. I tried to avoid that snowmobile accident until they replayed it 3 times on the local news. Damn local news.
ReplyDeleteYeah, she came off the jump behind her skies and then over-corrected and landed with her balance too far forward. Contrary to popular belief, downhill/Super-G racers actually try to catch as little air as possible because of the chance of falls like this. Airborne, you have no grip with your edges and no longitudinal leverage for maintaining fore-and-aft balance.
ReplyDeleteAlso, she was coming out of a fairly sharp turn and the flex in her skies would have unloaded with a snap and were probably still clattering when she landed. See, even recreational skiers don't understand the dynamics of racing turns and racing skis. Downhill racing skis are very stiff, but they're still built to flex for carving turns. When you exit a high-speed turn like that your skis are loaded up with tremendous flex force, like an archery bow at max pull. Normally you unweight as you exit a turn but it's tricky because the force dynamics of your skis flexing and carving are actually driving them out from under you.
Catching full air right at the exit of a sharp turn like that, man, that's a technically difficult challenge.
No surprise. This is what happens when u engage in a death defying so called sport. And i really dont see the need for it.
ReplyDeleteauntliddy - you know I love you, but heck yes skiing is a sport! But it's a dangerous one, and the people who participate know the risks.
DeletePlus, typing skiing is super-fun due to the rare double i.
DeleteOk, to clarify. The so called was meant to frame the death defying part, not sport. In other words, sports that may lead to death are not really sports. Oh crap, i know what i mean, not explaining well tho sorry!:)

DeleteI hear you, auntliddy :-). Keep on being awesome, lady - you crack me up on a daily basis.
DeleteSaying a prayer that she's ok. Remembering Natasha Richardson and how innocuous her accident appeared at first.
ReplyDeleteIsn't that the broad with the black dude hubby that slaps her around?
ReplyDeleteNah,that's Hope Solo. The dumb white bitch that stays with him but don't get her confused with the other dumb whites bitches(Brooke muller and diane lane). Those white bitches get slapped around by white dudes so that's their business... Or just a couple going through ups and downs ....or having rough sex.
DeleteSki racing is way more of a sport than, say, baseball.
ReplyDeleteB, you know I love you, but let's not bring baseball into this!! Baseball is a sacred institution en La Casa de Frufra.
DeleteAnyone who says skiing isn't a sport is silly, and obviously has never watched the Olympics or any other competition.

ReplyDelete@B. Profane- I'd like to see you stare down the barrel of a 100 mph Justin Verlander fastball. Your foot would be in the bucket so fast your head would spin!
ReplyDeletecomplaining; yet didn't stop running the course.
ReplyDeleteESPN :
ReplyDeleteSCHLADMING, Austria -- Lindsey Vonn crashed and apparently hurt her right knee during a super-G at the world championships Tuesday and was taken to a hospital by helicopter.
Austria's ski federation president said doctors told him that Vonn tore her cruciate and lateral ligaments. Peter Schroecksnadel added that this is "the only injury she has, nothing besides this."
@Just Curious- You're right. Thanks for clearing that up!
ReplyDeleteIts' hard to sort out. With so many dumb white bitches STAYING in abusive relationships, its' hard to imagine folks picking on Rihanna for going back to Chris.
DeleteFirst of all women in abusive relationships is a colorblind issue. And they arent dumb;they are terribly damaged psychologically and think its normal. I have to say, your comment was a tad douchy.
DeleteI'd like to see Verlander ski the Hahnenkamm at Klammer speed or scrum down against a Springbok pack. Sorry, all pro ski racers are great athletes but only some baseball players are. Citing a pitcher is the worst example. I could name you any number of pro pitchers that I could beat down the first base line even with my bum knee.
ReplyDeleteSee your Verlander and raise you David Wells: end of debate.
We get it, just curious. We should all forgive Chris Brown. WE GET IT. Next.
ReplyDeleteChris doesn't need white folks forgiveness.Charlie does...in order to maintain his yt male pass.
DeleteI heard she hurt her knee badly, most likely out of the Winter Olympics next year. Too bad, she really is amazing to watch.
ReplyDeleteDavid Wells? He made Babe Ruth look like Slim Goodbody.
ReplyDeleteDon't bring my future husband JV into this! :)
ReplyDeleteWow, someone feels the need to turn every. Single. Thread. Into a commentary about race and/or Chris Brown lately.
ReplyDeleteI hope Lindsay recovers well and fast.
I hope she recovers in time for the Olympics. Maybe she should call Adrian Peterson's doc?
ReplyDeleteMe too. I hate to see another dead white girl that was highly overrated get mass television coverage.
DeleteEx. Anna Nicole Smith
