Florida Teen Apologizes For Telling Judge F**k You - He Lets Her Out Of Jail
Last week the entire world posted the video of 18 year old Penelope Soto telling a Florida judge f**k you after having her bond raised from $5K to $10K for being disrespectful in court. The judge then sentenced her to 30 days in jail. Well, she was brought back before the judge on Friday and apologized while crying and blamed the whole thing on two Xanax she had taken that day and the judge said he did not completely blame her and let her go. She agreed to get help for her addiction. Soto had been arrested with three baggies filled with Xanax.
I don't think I've ever felt telling anyone - let along a judge - "F YOU" on Xanax. I don't think I've ever felt like telling anyone much of anything on Xanax, come to think of it.

ReplyDeleteThis happened a few days ago. Thanks for the old news enty.
ReplyDeleteYeah, yeah, yeah....I'm just biding my time until the Randoms so we can talk about Adele's dress :-).
ReplyDeleteA judge sees this shit day in, day out for years. I defer to his experience in this matter.
ReplyDeleteFRUFRA---
I LOVED ADELE'S DRESS. DO NOT SNARK ADELE'S DRESS.
j/k, you may. But I loved it. I loved prints, I love the era it was derivative of.
Libby - you should know by now that I don't want to snark her dress! I love prints too, I love color, I love to see something blessedly different being worn. I'm a crazy thrift shop, do it yourself girl in the fashion department. But I totally need someone to discuss the dress with. I loved what it was doing, but felt like the design was a bit off. I need to go back and look at pictures again, so I can give specifics.
DeleteOh WHEW! I've seen so many hater comments about it already today, I got a little emotional Fru.
ReplyDeleteAgain, sorry.
(They just don't understand it!!!)
OK, got it - if you look at the original runway version of the dress, I really like the original sleeves better, as well as the neckline. I feel like the neckline on Adele is too rounded. It's a very slight difference, but I really don't like what that neckline did to her overall torso look.
ReplyDeleteWait - just found a better picture - the original dress has the entire bodice made of the same material that on Adele's version is used only on the sleeves. I like that better. I think Adele's dress, with the heavier skirt material used on the bodice as well, reads as too heavy. Reminds me a little too much of the heavy carpetbag that Mary Poppins carried. Anyway, my two cents (really about 10 cents, since I keep blabbing on and on about it).
DeleteI loved it! I felt like it was too heavy on her though - a v-neck or sweetheart neckline would have been SO much more flattering and made it a little lighter (in appearance , not actual weight - lol)
DeleteMy 2 cents on Adele's dress: Burn that dress, girl!! And, this coming from a chickie who likes retro, but that dress...just no, honey!
ReplyDeleteOn topic: I was on Zannie bars for years and years and it never compelled me to be stupid and rude to an authority figure, but maybe that's just me? I was actually raised with manners and such...
Reese, what's the diff between Zannie bars and just popping a Zanax? I don't have knowledge in that area :-).
DeleteXanax, sorry. I'm with whoever commented beneath me, that Xanax just knocks me on my ass, and I also had some wicked scary hallucinations on it, so no thanks.
DeleteSaw this last week, girlfriend is a total mess
ReplyDeleteIMO, Frufra, in my best Project Runway-learned fashion design knowledge, I think the fabric could/should have been manipulated somehow in the skirt, to avoid the inevitable 'lampshade skirt' a heavy fabric like that gives.
ReplyDeleteYou know when they shorten a design for non-models, and it can go 'off'? I wonder if that skirt draped better on a taller person.
The few times I've taken xanax it was all I could do to open my eyes, let alone my mouth.
ReplyDeleteZannie bars: 2mg Xanax. Man, I loved that stuff, but so very happy to be off of them.
ReplyDeleteI BLACKED OUT while flying to California for X-mas--a co-worker had given me zannie bars, because I'm a terribly nervous flyer.
ReplyDeleteI got to California okay, but it wasn't until I found the stub from my connecting flight that I realized I had somehow managed to navigate the Houston airport and change planes, while completely blacked out. Scared me a little.
I only took half of one bar, btw. Totally blacked out 6 hours.
SMH! Only a white person could get away with such...
ReplyDeleteAdele got out of black for that? No. It was too heavy and instead of looking like a widow, she looked like a retro granny instead. Why does Adele's stylist hate her so much?
ReplyDeleteI'm glad the girl apologized and was sincere about it.
ReplyDeleteRe Adele's dress: I think Adele got hung up on the nice print, and couldn't let it go. I don't think the shape was flattering on her, though. Some length would have helped, and with some technical adjustments, eg higher waistline, it would have been much improved. I loved her shoes though. I think she looks better in solids. A nice classic-style red dress and keep the shoes would have been great.
What??? Xanax makes you calm and mellow. If she were on coke...then I'd believe it...but Xanax. Don't believe it for a minute.
ReplyDeleteAhem, did I totally predict this or what?
ReplyDeleteJudge was to blame in the first place.
I would like to make it clear that I declined. Spending time in jail for selling a controlled RX (or anything else) is not in my life plan. Plus, it's stupid.
ReplyDelete@ B. Profane - I thought you said in the original post she got busted for two pills? This post reads three BAGS.
ReplyDeleteI can't get the video to play. :(
I misheard the original audio. She was charged with possession of 27 Xanax tablets--and that's straight from the mouth of the prosecutor. Still a minor bust.
ReplyDeleteShe was absolutely NOT charged with possession of three baggies filled with Xanax. Judge kicked her because he realized that HE screwed up.
The judge dismissed the contempt charge because she apologized for swearing at the judge, disrespecting him, and admitted she was drunk and had taken Xanax while in court the previous time. A different judge sentenced her to drug rehab, and this judge didn't want her to have a record. I'd say he was pretty great about it.
