FL Teen Should Have Taken Xanax She Is Accused Of Possessing
If 18 year old Penelope Soto had just stayed a little more calm she would have been out on the streets after probably posting no bond after being arrested for possession of Xanax. Instead, she laughed when the judge asked her questions and just didn't seem to care she had been arrested. So, the judge set her bond at $5,000. When Penelope was flippant about it, the judge called her back and raised to $10,000. Then Penelope asked the Judge if he was serious and when he said yes, then she said, "F**k you." Yeah, for that she got 30 days in jail. You know what? It will probably help her get off Xanax.
Oh to be young and an idiot again.
ReplyDeleteYoung, dumb and full of, well I won't be rude this early in the morning.
ReplyDeleteI'll state the ever-so-obvious and say how I wish Lilo had come across a judge like this early in her career of bullshit.
ReplyDeleteUhh she was definitely poppin that Billy Zane, it doesn't turn you into a mindless zombie incapable of doing or saying anything. Well, at least not if you only take one or two. Or three.
ReplyDeleteI remember a couple times being out at a bar w/ friends and someone showing up w/ xanax. Must have been rough on the bartender to have 8 people simultaneously black out but not pass out.
DeleteI second that, tuxedo cat!
ReplyDelete@TuxedoCat: Add Chris Brown and all the rest...
ReplyDeleteI was thinking the same thing Tuxedo Cat!
ReplyDeleteIf this was Lilo's judge she's still be locked up for having fu on her nails.
ReplyDeleteI blame her parents. My kid wouldn't dream of speaking to me, or any adult, in that way. I'm sure her folks wring their hands and say "Oh, we don't know why Penny gets in so much trouble. We gave her everything she wanted as a child. Oh, woe is me."
ReplyDeleteWhich is bullshit, and evidence of why the kid doesn't accept responsibility. Because her folks don't either.
Well said Lucas. I blame the parents,
Delete@Lucas - I do, too, but I'd be willing to bet the apple didn't fall far from the tree.
DeleteMaybe everyone in Florida should have xanax on hand - you know, to counter-act the bath salts.
ReplyDeleteSuch a shame that the youth today have no respect for authority. Kudos to the judge for coming down hard.
ReplyDeleteI was just listening to this on the radio, this girl is going viral for all the wrong reasons.
ReplyDeleteGood she needs to face the consequences! Stupid kids! Lol
ReplyDeleteI second all of you. She totally deserves that 30 days in county.
ReplyDeletebut it probably really won't help her kick it. I live here in Fl and half of these kids are lost and f'd up. She doesn't see the problem with her, only him. The judge was a little heavy handed at first being a bit of a ham, I know these Fl judges have a way of doing that too.
ReplyDeleteIt makes me think of a song by one of my heroes, Greg Brown:
ReplyDeleteChildren they don't need a lot of stuff
children sure do need a lot of love
they need love to give them pride
to make them feel real good inside
if they don't get it at home they're going to go looking
He is a wise, wise man indeed,
I wish I could favorite this
DeleteThat naked carnie could've used some of that xanax.
ReplyDelete@Cathy, they need to put them in candy dispensers to counteract the bath salts.
I completely agree, Lucas.
ReplyDeleteI used to see this attitude alllll the time at the major city high school in which I taught. Burnout rate for teachers was five years. I left after six. It's not always the teachers who are at fault. So many kids do not receive any guidance on how to respect anyone or anything. It's truly shameful.
ReplyDeleteyawnathon - yup. I used to see it in kindergarteners. It's a real joy dealing with a five year old who has known no boundaries in his or her young life. Take note, parents - totally cliche, but your kids need a parent, not another friend. Society is begging you - get the message!!
DeleteI tell my 8 yr old daughter, 'I'm your Mom first, your protector, then maybe we can be friends'
DeleteOh man this made me laugh so hard
ReplyDelete"TAKE A XANAX!!! CALM DOWN!!!"
ReplyDeleteWarecat, I love the Real Housewives reference! Ramona may be batty, but she never fails to entertain!
DeleteLittle bitch needed to learn a lesson and school was in session that day. Good for the Judge. Doesn't she watch people's court?
ReplyDeleteWhat is going on in Florida? Whenever I see something just Balls Deep goofy........it happened in FL!
ReplyDeleteWhat is going on in Florida? Whenever I see something just Balls Deep goofy........it happened in FL!
ReplyDeleteI'm amazed when I go to The Short One's school and see how the kids behave around adults. I could NOT BELIEVE the crap that was going on at his recent orchestra performance, in front of the principal! I sound like my mother, but jeez, I wouldn't have gotten away with that when I was his age. No one would have.
ReplyDeleteI love how this idiot's attitude does a 180 once the fine is doubled. Damn straight, you don't mess with a judge in his own courtroom. Be thankful it wasn't 60 days, dumbass.
ReplyDeleteGo judge! Too bad teachers can't do this kind of thing in schools.
ReplyDeleteI saw the slightly longer clip on Gawker yesterday. This idiot thought she was cute and played with her hair the whole time and thought she could lip off at the judge with what she thought were cute answers. She got exactly what she deserved.
ReplyDeleteToo bad more parents don't do this so their kids act like this in the first place. Remember if you got caught doing something at school? You were automatically guilty at home not being "picked" on by the teacher. This girl deserved what she got because she could have shut the hell up in the first place. I'm sure another judge will let her go but for now she's got some time to think about her smart ass.
ReplyDeleteSomething tells me this girl is gonna get her ass beat for running her mouth in jail.
ReplyDeleteThat was my thought too. Wait until she says F**k you to a Latin Queen in the tv room.
Deletecrapbag, yes! and we have a lot of judges like that and police who will shoot you if you draw a weapon and ask questions later.. .. you definitely don't want to come here.
ReplyDeleteand still she couldnt shut the f*ck up!!!!!
ReplyDeleteBahaha I just watched the video and that is hilarious. What a little biotch.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to offer this judge a job in the LA County Courts, Celebrity Division.

ReplyDeleteone of the best things about miami are these old school cuban judges, who've sat on the bench forever and who simply DO NOT PLAY. they're characters for sure, but you don't piss them off. they've been thru communism, they ain't taking your sh*t. i love that this dumbass girl got 30 days in the slammer. go judge rodrÃguez-chomát!
ReplyDelete"i love that this dumbass girl got 30 days in the slammer."
ReplyDeleteYou realize, of course, that she won't do thirty days. She'll be held for somewhere between a half to two days and then brought back before the judge to apologize, and then the contempt charge will be dropped...and then she'll promptly go back in the slam indefinitely because she likely has no way of coming up with the $1,000 to pay for a $10,000 bail bond. For possession of two Xanax tablets.
I wish that Judge was in La. Maybe assholes like Chris Brown and Blohan would be behind bars where they belong. Hopefully in FL 30 days doesnt equal 30 minutes like in California. This is probably the first time this little smartass didn't get out of trouble by twirling her hair trying to look cute. Good for him.
ReplyDeleteShe didn't look as if she'd been living on the street. I don't want to sound hardhearted but I think her parents will probably bail her out.
ReplyDeleteShe was arrested for two pills? Granted she did break the law, but one would think there are bigger fish to fry out there.
ReplyDeleteNope. She broke the law. She disrespected the judge in his courtroom. She loses. I got popped for MIP - drinking alcohol at a party at 15. The judge scared the SHIT out of me, I was fined and put on probation. My record expunged. If I had talked to the judge AT ALL like she did, I would've been sent to juvenile detention. I learned a valuable lesson. This girl needs to learn respect, and not believe she is above anything. It's humbling to learn the hard way, but that's how you grow up.
ReplyDeleteWith respect, I disagree B Profane. I think her "adios" was indeed extremely disrespectful and her voice dripped with disdain. If her sentence was JUST for possessing Xanax, of course it would be ridiculous. But she was clearly disrespectful to a person of authority (and only an idiot wouldn't know not to be disrespectful to a judge), and she got her punishment for it. He is likely of the belief that kids these days have way too much attitude and disrespect for their elders, and he proved it.
ReplyDeleteI had a bad Xanax addiction in my 20's.... 'twas a bitch to come off
ReplyDeleteI feel compelled yet again to defend my state :P. Enty, you clearly subscribe to the theory that FL is home to only wackos. As a native Floridian who is educated, pays (a lot of) taxes and is a productive member of society, I can tell you that I am the norm, not the exception, at least in the Tampa Bay area.
ReplyDeleteWhew! I feel better :). I will concede that there are crazy things that happen in FL like this everyday. However, I've said it before and I'll say it again, the majority of these nut balls are *not* native Floridians - they come from every state across the nation, fleeing the consequences of the crazy they've laid down in their home states. Florida is an extremely transient state and acts as a magnet for crazy and/or criminal.
