I loved his performance (as did Kelly Clarkson lol) but my favorite of the night was Bruno Mars and the Bob Marley tribute. Everyone was singing along and mellowing out.
Extremely desperate. Maybe this is mean, but her leg didnt look so...in shape. It was just a really bad look. Even Pitbull was looking at her like WTF.
Totally agree greenmountaingal and amber. They showed a picture of her on WWHL and I said "desperate" hubby said "ugh". She looked terrible. Unless you have supermodel legs you shouldn't be tring to pull that off.
A lot of what she wear gives the desperate vibe. Heck, she must be desperate to attach herself to a young, gay guy and claim he's her bf. She needs to realize her age as well with her clothing choices.
I thought it was a great Grammys performance wise. Honestly, the only performance I could have done without was Taylor Swift. I think everyone did a great job. Kelly Clarkson and Mumford and Sons were among my faves. I wasn't really feeling Fun. but I think it may have been because of their capri pants. Very distracting.
My favorite was the Bob Marley tribute. Would have loved to been there for that, I've never been to the Grammys.
Thanks again for the link last night @blah blah.
My "ah ha" moment last night was seeing Frank Ocean talk on the red carpet. I don't like that guy, he way he ducks his head and lowers his eyes like that, he comes off as super shady.
There are JLo pics on Celebitchy--not that I recommend that site---and all but ONE, she is making that dumb open-mouth-sex-face. While wearing THAT outfit, with the opening that exposes the most unflattering angle that makes her leg look blubbery, with a lil' pooch belly showing (wrong underwear--not usually her mistake), and she had a tan line on her upper thigh--It was all just a mess. Like she just dropped by on the fly, having stapled a silk sheet around herself in the car.
@Libby - EVERY.SINGLE.TIME. with her damn mouth open. I thought I was the only one annoyed with her signature pose. Let's hope a fly gets sucked in there so she learns her lesson.
@Em - I don't know Frank, so I can't attest to his character, but it's possible it's an esteem thing and/or that he's not comfortable in the spotlight yet. In my business field, I end up working with/meeting with mostly men. I've started to notice this thing with some of the older men (55+), where they're not good at eye contact. They're not staring at my boobs or anything inappropriate, just don't make eye contact. It's odd.
miguel was robbed of a longer performance. he was nominated in several big categories, and he deserved to perform the full song. either way, he did great. good for him. if you haven't heard his album, do yourself a favor and listen to it.
I love that song he sang I just wish it would have been sung in its entirety or a mashup with "do you". I've been wanting to see him sing live for so long that I would go to the alicia keys concert just to see his opening performance than I would leave.
Thereis a gif showing douchebag Chris Brown not standing when Frank Ocean won an award (he left his tag on his jacket, because he is a genius). While walking up the podium, Ocean's head was down, and he looked really uncomfortable. I think it may just be his natural mannerisms when in a setting like that.
Yes, ladies--THAT MOUTH. Remembering to hold that face takes effort, and thought, and practice, and contemplation--and that's what she came up with as BEST.
Seriously, think how long it would take to train your face. And that way?!
I like Frank Ocean. Not sure why there was a standing O since this is a new (much needed) catagory and he's just a newbie, but I don't think standing ovations are mandatory. If he had stood up everyone would talk about what a phony he is. I think Chris Brown is a douche but this is just stupid. The ovation was stupid and so is criticizing someone who has done MUCH douchier things for not participating. I thought clapping was sufficient.
Ita! I would've been offended had he just sat there without clapping. I don't know why the standing ovation happened. Maybe because Frank came out? Either way, he acknowledged his win with the clapping and that's good enough imo
@Libby, I watched JLo pose on the red carpet and was mesmerized by her open mouth thing. She rarely smiled, just kept moving her head and opened her mouth. Watching everyone pose for the photos is kinda funny, and it amazes me how well some work it.
I always walk with my head down. My high school graduation video is priceless because I almost trip walking up to the stage because I cannot lift my head to look ahead of me. I find a lot of money on the ground tho.
I was hooting and hollering watching him sing last night. He slayed it. Such a great grammy moment. Kelly Clarkson needs stylist help, but God love her she can sing. the best singing of the night was Rihanna's sad solo, in the black dress, she looked amazing, delivered it perfectly, every note was just right. I was crying while she sang it. Shit I'm tearing up now just thinking about it.
@Libby that's it!!! Oh my god when one of mine smells the other's butt she makes that face it's hilarious! Great, now when my cat does something cute (the mouth thing not the sniffing butt thing) I will be reminded of JHo. Damn!
I cut in about halfway through and missed that part. That'll give me something to watch tonight after work.
Overall the grammy's weren't that bad. I loved seeing Jack White thrash the stage, but wish they would have included him in the Levon Helms tribute. The Bob Marley tribute was great.
As much as I wanted Frank Ocean to give a knock out performance, I was shocked at how boring his set was. "Forest Gump"?
So many great performances, however I still found the show incredibly boring. Too many commercials and the programming seemed a bit uneven. I will say this, the Grammys In Memoriam segment is the best of all awards shows. Consistently well done.
There were other better performances that this one. Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood for starters. From there we have Bruno Mars & Sting, Mumford & Sons and oh so many more. I really wasn't that impressed with the Wiz & Miguel performance.
@Schmucky, I agree, she looks great. I just didn't like her choice in dress. She has a good figure, and never dresses to flatter it. @V, I found it boring too!
I don't post often on here but I will say that I have been obsessed with Miguel's Adorn for MONTHS! There was a point where I had it on repeat at work for months!
@ Libby - LOL@ Your comments are so eloquent and I agree with the cat face; they do that thing where they breathe through their mouths to process a smell. JLo is a mouth breather!
@ Amber - LOL @ comment #2! It's all good as long as you claim your earnings on your tax return ;)
He was amazing and I love Wiz and his goofy ass outfit. He does not care what people think. Let your freak flag fly!!
ReplyDeleteI loved his performance (as did Kelly Clarkson lol) but my favorite of the night was Bruno Mars and the Bob Marley tribute. Everyone was singing along and mellowing out.
ReplyDeleteMiguel has one of those voices you could listen to forever. It's got that classic soul thing going on.
ReplyDeleteHands down.
ReplyDeleteMiguel is great.
ReplyDeleteCan we please have a separate thread about JLo's heinous outfit? I need to snark on that!
that was refreshing
ReplyDelete@green - She looked desperate.
ReplyDeleteExtremely desperate. Maybe this is mean, but her leg didnt look so...in shape. It was just a really bad look. Even Pitbull was looking at her like WTF.

DeleteAll the guys on my twitter TL LOVED Jlo's outfit so..... Maybe they are all blind or we just hate too much.
DeleteAmber, I agree. You could just see the waves of desperation coming off of her. No Bueno!
DeleteA lot of what she wear gives the desperate vibe. Heck, she must be desperate to attach herself to a young, gay guy and claim he's her bf. She needs to realize her age as well with her clothing choices.

Honestly I took it as a sign of shyness. He does seem a bit awkward.
DeleteI thought the Black Keys did wonderful! I heart them so so much. I'm a dork and wore my autographed Black Keys shirt today :)
ReplyDeleteHoly shit me too!!!

Deletegreenmountain--That was my JLo snark for you! I won't be here for random photos, probably!
ReplyDeleteLol that was excellent snark :) And ITA - her stupid faux sexy mouth pose is so ridiculous looking. It's not sexy at all!

ReplyDeleteNever heard of him, didn't see his performance. Taylor Swift was by far the best and looked great! Who knew she was so leggy! Yum-yum.
ReplyDeletemiguel was robbed of a longer performance. he was nominated in several big categories, and he deserved to perform the full song. either way, he did great. good for him. if you haven't heard his album, do yourself a favor and listen to it.
ReplyDeleteOh, and I'd like to put it out there that my line of work is not "escort/prostitute". I'm in a mechanical/technical field.
ReplyDeleteI would love to know the thought process behind J. Lo's hair. Who thought that was a good idea?
ReplyDeleteI thought Rihanna looked the best on the red carpet.
I love that song he sang I just wish it would have been sung in its entirety or a mashup with "do you". I've been wanting to see him sing live for so long that I would go to the alicia keys concert just to see his opening performance than I would leave.

ReplyDeleteOMG, you guys. I just realized what JLo's mouth reminds me of--when my cat smells something stinky and leaves his mouth open & drooly...YOU KWIM...
ReplyDeleteI thought Miguel did a beautiful job. I didn't know what the big deal was about him until that performance; guess I need to catch up on his music.
ReplyDelete@Libby that's it!!! Oh my god when one of mine smells the other's butt she makes that face it's hilarious! Great, now when my cat does something cute (the mouth thing not the sniffing butt thing) I will be reminded of JHo.

Kelly Clarkson looked great. Just like a natural woman should look. The "body by barfing" look doesn't work for everybody.
ReplyDeleteBruno is an amazing performer. Love him! Him and Kelly were so good.
