Bobby Brown Needs A Better Lawyer

Bobby Brown has been sentenced to 55 days in jail for his second DUI and driving on a suspended license. If his name had been Lindsay Lohan he would be looking at no jail time and a future career in porn. I'm pretty sure that Bobby got sentenced to such a long term because, well, lets face it. Bad singing is a mitigating factor. It is why if Ashlee Simpson gets busted for a couple of DUI's, she can expect to be sentenced to 10 years of hard labor. The thing is, Bobby does not have to report until March 20th and all he has to do is find out when the jail is most crowded and check in on that day and he will be out in about a week. At this point you could be sentenced to 60 years and I think you would be out by Christmas. Bobby is kind of smart though. If you go to jail, you get it all over with. Lindsay keeps avoiding jail like the plague and ends up making things worse because she extends her probation for another few years and does more community service and more classes. Just go to jail and do a little probation and be done with it.

  1. 55 days on a third DUI?

He doesn't need a better lawyer, he needs a tougher judge.

  2. Sing along please...

Do a little jail, make a little love, get down tonight! Get down tonight!

Enty. That last sentence is so absurdly funny that I laughed out loud.

  3. Ugh. People who drive while drinking (especially for the third time) are way more of a danger to society than people who are in possession of pot.

All this war on drugs seems to be doing is giving more dangerous people a get out of jail free card.

  4. @ABlake - Exactly! His lawyer seems pretty good to me.

I'll be interested to see how long he actually serves.

  5. Eh, jail may be good for him. Here's hoping it is.

  6. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy. Drunks are never caught as often as they drive drunk. He'll be out in 10.

  7. @Erin

I wonder how he would fare with Judge Judy :)

Now THAT would be something to see, with Lohan as the next case.

  8. It's his 2nd DUI. 3rd is automatic 6 months (supposedly non negotiable.)

  10. NO! wait, one was probably pleaded down to a disorderly or something that will go in the books. That happens while the original charge doesn't change.

  14. Some people opt for jail time versus a longer community service commitment. Maybe that's what he did.

  16. True enough Sherry

Steamy, I don't doubt what you're saying (as far as Cali law goes) yet keep in mind he lives (or is based out of) Atlanta. Perhaps that's why the 3 times and you're done rule didn't apply this time?
I don't know the law that well but I still want to see him and Lindsey on Judge Judy before she retires :D

  17. Wahhhh. I work w/someone who's looking at a year for his 3rd & got 90 days for his 2nd. He'll never get his license back & isn't surrounded by people who'll drive him places. I'm pretty sure Bobby's lawyer could've only faired better if they were in Cali.

  18. Cali clearly way too lax. In Ontario first offence is one year suspension and you lose your licence when you are CHARGED ie before you even get to court, for 90 days. If you blow between .05 - .08 you get a 3 day suspension first time, 7 day second time, 30 day third time and so on.
Great incentives to spend money on a taxi.

I agree, just go do the time, skip probation, have them add more time to skip it, and go on about your business!
