It was very funny. He did make a mathematical error and could have lost if the cutie pie on the left had not guessed incorrectly. Glad he won, congrats!
IIRC, they add the two days to determine the winner. Nilai had $19K on Day 1. He finished with $7400 on Day 2. Had he gotten Final Jeopardy correct, he would have had $14,400 on Day 2, for a grand total of $40,400--just enough to win. Leonard made a slight error in forgetting Nilai's extra 400 bucks.
Then again, I may have this all wrong.
Either way, Leonard was super adorable. Congrats to him!
A guy I went to high school with was on Teen Jeopardy. He was in the lead the entire time and if he had bet nothing during final Jeopardy, he would have won. Of course, he bet some large amount, got it wrong and ended up losing.
@Cathy - I did the same thing. I was on not too long ago and the other person in final jeopardy with me had exactly half the amount I did. If I had wagered 0, we would have tied and both moved on to the next day. I lost my head though and wagered $5000 on a category I thought I had a good shot at. Of course, she wagered everything and got the answer right and I got it wrong and failed to move on to a third day on the show.
It still burns me that I messed that up, but I also had an amazing time on the show. It was the experience of a lifetime.
That was very funny, but my favorite part is that he might help bring the afro back. I never understood what happened to that look. Even white guys used to wear it. That is why I thought this was a Jeopardy from the 1970's at first. He does indeed look like one of the early Jacksons.

ReplyDeleteno the 1st guy had $14,400, so even if he bet it all, it's only 28,800 and the winner had $37,000 so knew he was guaranteed the win.
ReplyDeletesee Layna's comment. 2 day total, not what you are looking at in this picture.
DeleteI watched that episode. Very smart kids. Happy that he won.

DeleteWatched this entire tournament (because my life is awesome). Was SO HAPPY to see Leonard win.

ReplyDeleteCute nerdy boys. I love it.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone think he looks like a teenage Michael Jackson in the still? Before the 18 operations...
ReplyDeletemngoddess, I am ashamed to say that I was rooting for him for that very reason. Shallow, I know.
