  1. @davidsfan I. Love him too, I always read his Christmas book around this time of year.

  2. Mine is my twitter handle. I left fb ages ago and joined twitter and didn't want people I know finding me online without me giving them my id. So I created an alter ego and chose sasha a name I love, and sasha James was created.

  3. My all time favorite author @davidsfan! I give Holidays on Ice out as a gift all the time!

  6. @sillygirl, is that you on the nymag site?

    ReplyDelete

@ Silly, truer words were never spoken:)

    ReplyDelete
  9. I left Celebitchy feeling very meangirlishly effected. Not a real word, I know that, but I don't know what else to call it!

  10. @sillygirl, the New York Magazine site, the commenters there are smart and funny, and the sillygirl there "sounds" like you, it was a compliment!

Mines my Good friends nickname for me. It kind of fits because I was quite the troublemaker as a kid. Who did that? Katy did.
Astrogirl I love yours. When I was growing up in Australia we watched astroboy all the time I was talking to some friends about it the other day and no one knew what I was talking about, it made me miss home.

You're probably not still looking at this thread.
I'm from Armidale NSW near Tamworth. It won't hurt my feelings if you've never heard of it! I moved to the states in 1992. Are you in Sydney? Happy New Year!

  15. There was already a "Dani", which is my usual handle. And I'd just watched Seinfeld, which I love a lot.

  16. Because I grew up in Chicago. Second City, and when adults talked to me, they would be like, "Hey, Kid!" =) Especially when I rode my bike on the grass on the other the side of the walk with friends (city property, btw)

Serenity now- my co worker and I say that when things get out of hand at work it always makes us laugh and diffuse stressful situations. Seinfeld never gets old....

  18. My name here is musesx9
    9 muses of mythology
    Xanadu fanatic

    ReplyDelete
  19. I have issues with my phone posting. Ugh
I am musesx9 because I was a Xanadu (cheesy 80's skating movie) and AOL had just started. Plus, I'm an English teacher.

  20. @serenitynow, I wish I didn't say this whenever mr be and get into it it...but I totally do. The good news is that he has started to get that when I am saying it, that something may be going on and it is a useful way to end a fight! Love your moniker!

    ReplyDelete
  21. @DavidsFan, love him too. Going to see him in a couple of months!

    ReplyDelete
  22. My little man is a puggle. Aside from his name (Doogie), we call him PuggleWug or PuggleLicious, among others.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I was (and still am) a Xanadu fanatic (yes, the cheesy 80's movie with rollerskating and all that Olivia Newton John fantabulousness). AOL days, and I am an English teacher.

    ReplyDelete
  24. by the way, it's musesx9

    ReplyDelete
  25. I was a huge Xanadu fanatic (yes, the cheesy 80's rollerskating cinematic accomplishment starring Olivia Newton John in all of her rollerskating fantabulousness). Also, I'm an English teacher.

  26. Needed a fake name to start a throwaway email account back in '98. I asked my co-worker what I should use, and she said "Mooshki," which was her nickname when she was a kid. It's been my online identity ever since.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Ooh, I love TWOP too! I have mostly been lurking there, started when it was still Mighty Big TV.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I'm smart and funny and the names sound great together, IMO

    ReplyDelete
  29. I can be a bit feral & a bit flirty. My husband loves my screen name & I will sometimes read out particularly witty comments from CDan to him. He is totally indulgent if my CDan needs.

    ReplyDelete
  30. redd because my husband and his friends call me red for my formerly red hair, redd so I can be like Redd Foxx!

    ReplyDelete
  31. My birthday month and something I like that went well together with "May."

    ReplyDelete
  32. It's my grandmother's name.

    ReplyDelete
  33. A really bad haircut 20+ years ago left me looking like a cockatoo...

    ReplyDelete
  34. I was a beta tester for Gmail. I didn't want anyone else to get my name, so I grabbed it. Boring, I know.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Skyy, I do understand the employment issues, as well as the small town attitude. Believe me. Hang in there, hope hubbie appreciates you and mends quickly!

    ReplyDelete
  36. I've often wondered about the background of posters' names, so very informative Your Turn. ;)

I love Reality Bites and all things 1990's.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Love Indian Food....

    ReplyDelete
  38. @Bulldog Fart

What a little cutie you are!!

    ReplyDelete
  39. I can't wait to read the next question. What is your Social Security number?

    ReplyDelete
  40. When my mom found out she was going to be a grandma for the first time (my brother's) she was trying to think of what she wanted to be called that didn't make her feel so old, when discussing her future moniker we decided some day my grandkids should call me Mama Ray. (Ray being my nickname) I was only 25 at that time. 12 yrs later, I am now a Mom of 3 ages 10, 7 & 3. Hopefully I still have a LONG time left before we find out if it really sticks!

    ReplyDelete
  41. Also LOVE the theme song! Totally sang it in my head! ;)

    ReplyDelete
  42. My name and ... from a time when I was a huge can't-miss-a-Sunday fan of Dale Earnhardt Jr. when he drove the 8 Budweiser car. I don't even know who he drives for now...

    ReplyDelete
  43. Libby, do you still comment on DListed? I love the site, but I can't stand the cliquey comment boards, and they are MEAN! hahaha...I'm a tad thin skinned ;)

    ReplyDelete
  44. Cat rescuer IRL. Among many other things.

    ReplyDelete
  45. @pazazz, Iove Jem! And thanks to Netflix I can watch it whenever I want to

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  47. Mine's from "The Demented Cartoon Movie" which is a goofy cartoon where stick people keep accidentally blowing up the world. Zeeky H. Bomb is my avatar; he says "Zeeky Boogy Doog!" which makes the world blow up. So don't read my name out loud!

Maja - I have the same problem, and almost the same name! Put an "r" in the middle of yours, and you have mine.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Loved reading all the comments, so many interesting stories!

    ReplyDelete
  49. @fluffy white clouds
You are probably not reading anymore, but I will try anyway. I was very touched by your comment earlier, and appreciate you sharing about that special moment between you and your friend. Much love to you

  50. Shiny Special One was one of the minion's names for Glorificus, wasn't it? For a second I thought it could have been one of Xander's names for Dracula in that funny episode where he got enthralled.

What am I saying .. they were all funny! Well, except at the end when Joss Whedon was all focused on Angel, and they went off a little bit.

Great name though, and Buffy for ever!

    ReplyDelete
  51. I totally agree it's a cool name, but I always read out as 'sick-o' not 'phsyco' but I really hate to pronounce someone's name incorrectly! Really glad to meet you, 's-eye-quo' :)

    ReplyDelete
  52. I wrote you a reply before, which died, and that has happened a bunch of times in the last 48hrs so basically this is a test.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Thanks for posting! I've been curious about your name for a while - its so cute!

I too am a crazy dog person (aussie mix &dobie/lab) so I love your story

    ReplyDelete
  54. It's from an old, old usenet name. I was "feeling blue" so indigo with y's... It got shortened over the years. But I've been contemplating the 'CDAN specific' name change lately. Sounds like a good time to do it. New Year, new name. So this is my last post under this ID. But now I have to think of something.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Mine is a bit boring-- I used to live in Italy and it became my nickname (it is a diminutive of my double-barreled real name). Unfortunately I never use that nickname any more because everyone thinks it refers to... you know who.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Used to live in Singapore, and my football (soccer) team plays in Blue, so SingBlue.

No longer live in Singapore but still support the Blues!

    ReplyDelete
  57. Oooh glad you asked ! Mine are my double barrelled married surname, I don't get married until mid 2013 (in LA funny enough..after doing Route 66 for my 40th!) so we may change our mind on double barrelled by then and/or be too knackered to do the wedding!
But back to the point it is a really dull google ID isn't it!!

  58. Because I never got over the fact that he loved Joanie and not me (that would be the 10 year old me who hung out in a polyester pyjama set watching mega tv, hoping against hope to catch a graphic sex scene on "The Love Boat"...constant disappointment - for sure Gopher had the goods).
