Today's Blind Items - Us Against Them
It was probably the worst film experience either of them had ever had. Lucky for them they had each other. They did the movie together just because they thought it might be like that. They had already been through the lots of sex phase and now are just friends. He is an A+ list movie actor and she is really close to an A list movie actress. He gave her some protection against the constant groping and sexual harassment she received everyday. In fact, she is still getting it. It is even worse now because it is harder to escape the hands on the butt or the arm across her breasts while there are cameras shooting and interviews being given. It takes a much bigger effort to make it look graceful rather than the kicks to the balls or the retreating to the trailer during shooting. Our actor had his own problems as he was considered a goody goody even though it is not the case. He just doesn't like to spend his days and nights with hookers and booze so they made his life miserable and treated him like crap and pranked him everytime they could. They tried to get his lines cut and would harass his girlfriend when she would visit the set. They posted naked photos of her everywhere. No matter what though, the actress and actor stuck together and just went into their own little world together.

Delete@Borg Queen, I remember that, too! And it makes sense. I think the rumors were that he banned her because he and Emma Stone were banging, but this makes more sense.
ReplyDeleteI remember a blind a few months ago that many thought to be about Gosling and Brolin...with Brolin taking every opportunity to challenge Gosling as he was jealous of his acting. Anyone else remember that? Am sure somebody will be able to lay their hands on it quicker than me!

Basil - remember this is Hollywood where this kind of shit happens all the time. I'm sure if Emma had made a stink, she'd be the one to suffer. She doesn't have the power that an A+++ has. It's disgusting.
It's opening in Jan because they did a bunch of re-shoots after Aurora, CO. There were some issues with the final big scene ring a shoot out in a movie theater.

ReplyDeleteI really wonder what happened between him and Rachel McAdams. It seems so weird that he has a three year gap in projects following their breakup (he even dropped out of the lovely bones a day before filming was scheduled to start). Sorry for the tangent.

DeleteHe didn't bail, he was fired. Gosling showed up like 40 pounds overweight because that was how he had interpreted the character (and really, 28 year old Ryan to play the father of a 14 year old) and Jackson FREAKED. Then he hired Marky Mark for the part. Gosling didn't disappear, but for so long he did small, super independent stuff. Plus he had to lose that 40 pounds.
Deletemsgirl, it was supposed to open in the Fall of 2012, but it was pushed back because it had to be reedited after the Aurora shootings. "Gangster Squad" featured a scene in which there was a massacre in a movie theater and it was judged to be too similar to the real life Aurora massacre.
ReplyDelete@Cathy, I'm not sure if the timing is the same, but it was rumored that he went method with his character in Half Nelson, a crack addict, and ended up having drug issues for a bit after that. I think they were together during that time, so maybe that played a part?

I'd actually consider him more like A- or B+ since he's never won an award, my mother has no clue he is, and he's never carried a major film on his own. To me A+ means people go see it simply because his name is above the title, and I don't think he's that big of a draw just yet.

Gosling took a 2 years break because of his gained weights for LOVELY BONES :Peter Jackson fired him because of creative discord (he never asked Gosling to gain weight)

All that talent to work with (Penn, Gosling, Brolin, Stone, Nolte, Anthony Mackie, Michael Pena, Robert Patrick, Giovanni Ribisi,...not to mention screenwriter Will Beall, who's very in-demand right now), and he beefed it. It has a very mediocre 55% on RT right now.
ReplyDeleteThis kind of behavior is endemic to film sets/locations. There was another blind recently about Channing Tatum and company doing much the same thing to Emma Watson on set.
ReplyDeletePenn and Brolin are particularly disgusting, though. I used to be a chef at a Westside restaurant, and every week Penn would show up with another little popsy who he would then make out with in the parking lot. I don't know how Robin Wright endured him for all those years.
