SAG Awards

I will have a SAG Awards post that I will put up around 3pm my time if anyone wants to discuss the awards or telecast or why there really is the need for another televised awards program.

  1. Yay! I love them all!

  2. I like the SAGs. It's actors giving awards to actors, both TV and film are there, and there are no production numbers or any other nonsense. Just awards, speeches, repeat til over.

  3. ^ What I mean above is that since they are being judged by their peers, it really seems to be important to the actors to win this award in particular.

  4. Golden Globes are just fun to goof on but SAG actually mean something to actors, and the big daddy Oscar just means they can raise their rates. But I am looking forward to Seth hosting it this year.

Doesn't mean much to me, I'm not big in to awards shows to begin with. But I get why an industry would want a bunch of awards shows, it's a great advertisement, and that way there's more awards people can win to help their career, I'm thinking of regular people here, not stars.

  6. Seems like there have been a lot of awards shows lately. Maybe I haven't paid attention before, but like every couple of days, there's another.

  7. Ooh forgot these were on! Yeah they mean a lot coming from your peers. I think Jessica Chastain is going to win something. Of course of haven't seen the nominations so I'm just talking out my arse.

Can't they call it something other than SAG? I guess the name's here to stay.

  9. Zeeky - it's because this is awards "season". Pretty much between Christmas and March is when they all are.

  10. SAG is the acronym for the Screen Actors Guild, a union that thousands of performers, writers and artists belong to.

  12. I just saw Silver Linings Playbook and whild JLaw deserves all the praise she's getting Bradley Cooper was really great in it. While I know BCoop's supposed reputation, I wonder if the revered DDL will sweep awards season.

  18. I hope Christoph Waltz wins! He was born to be in QT films, he was the best part of Django (besides the awesome song in the begining)

Annnd even tho I have not seen Zero Dark Thirty or Silver Linings Playbook, I hope Jennifer wins. But I want Jessica to win, if only to hear if she thanks her Howard family ;)

  19. @Sherry Anna wasn't asking for an acronym explanation Anna was saying it wasn't the sexiest sounding name for a union.

SAG sounds like my jelly belly.

Now GAG Good Actors Guild, I could get behind. If you have one better than have at it.

Anywho, I agree that SAG is awful. I get the visual of the naked grandpa getting a physical in the hospital from "The Hangover" every time I hear that word.
