Meredith Viera Says S**t On Live Television
Yesterday morning as they were coming back from a commercial break, Meredith Viera dropped a car which resulted in her saying, "Oh S**t." She seemed horror struck by it, but no one else seemed to care. Probably just happy to not have Kathie Lee there yesterday.
Perfectly honest mistake. Nbd
ReplyDeleteThat was actually kind of cute, lol.
ReplyDeleteBURN HER!! BUUUUUURRRRRRN HER!!!!
ReplyDeleteHaha I laughed out loud
DeleteI'll bet she had a nickel for every person who would rather see her there than Kathie Lee, she'd be able to pay the FCC fine from this a few times over.
ReplyDeleteNot nearly as epic as Sue Simmons dropping the F-bomb on a crew member live on-air.
ReplyDeleteI had almost forgotten that, DB. Thanks for the link.
DeleteWell since they have no more viewers they have nothing to worry about.
ReplyDeleteI don't know how people don't cuss on air more often. I'd have a really tough time not doing it, but that probably just means I cuss too much in general.
ReplyDeleteis it a crime in USA?
ReplyDelete@FrenchGirl - on non-cable channels, yes kind of. Especially in the morning when kids are around. It's not something you can get arrested for, but it's a rules/standards violation and you can be fined.
ReplyDeleteI miss Meredith. When she left, we stopped watching the Today Show. Every once in a while I'll catch bits and pieces, but rarely. And that "fourth hour" with Kathy Lee and Hoda? Torture. Hoda should stick to Dateline...Kathy Lee is insufferable.
ReplyDelete@FrenchGirl, there are some profanities that can't be used on certain channels. And I think some profanities can't be used until certain hours at night? The FCC is way uptight in the US.
Because hearing the word shit is way worse for kids than showing full video of the face-eating guy in Florida on the early evening news.
ReplyDeleteBahaha that was pretty funny. For some weird reason I always imagined that Meredith didn't swear. She is a classy lady who exclaims "Barbara Bush!" instead of "What the fuck!" and whispers in her panties versus farting.
ReplyDeleteCalling it: best comment of the day.
DeleteI love Hoda. She is a crack up and her smile is infectious!
ReplyDeleteJSIERRA!!!
ReplyDeleteYou just made me laughcry!
DBZee
I just watched the link from the Cursin Newslady. I still can't figure out what she was pissed about. Her mea culpa was pretty funny too (unintentionally, of course)
The only reason I love that "fourth hour" is because it invariably produces a shit ton of fodder for the wrap-up shows to make fun of (The Soup, Daily Show, etc). Red wine at 11am on live TV? What could go wrong!

ReplyDeleteMeredith saying "shit" is nothing compared to Sue Simmons asking one of the grips "what the fuck are you doing?!!" on an open mike.
ReplyDeletePriceless.
@Sunny - her co-anchor was googling and not paying attention. She said she was trying to get his attention and that he still didn't hear her, when all of NY heard her swearing. It still makes me laugh.
ReplyDeleteI think the FCC changed its rules when it's an honest mistake they won't go after you. She's fine.
ReplyDeleteSoooo. The FCC won't let me be me or they try to shut me down on MTV but it feels so empty without me!!
ReplyDeleteI love Meredith, I've always thought of her as a fun rather *bawdy dame*.
ReplyDeleteMeredith is so so awesome! I hope the viewers who usually make a stink over things like this, give her a break.
ReplyDeleteOMG Smash are you Jenelle Evans?
ReplyDeleteI figured she was just describing NBC's coverage of the 2012 Olympic Games...
ReplyDeleteOh poopy pants! Come on, what's the big deal?
ReplyDeleteOh No....let's fire her. I swear...let's make a big deal over nothing people, shall we? Ridiculous. People have said and done worse.
