Klaus Kinski's Daughter Claims He Raped Her For Over A Decade

In a new book, the eldest daughter of German actor Klaus Kinski says that beginning when she was 5 and continuing until she was 19, her father repeatedly raped her. His daughter, Pola says that she tried to defend herself and always told him no but that it just didn't matter and "that he took what he wanted." Pola's half-sister is Nastassja Kinski who has had no comment about the abuse allegations. You have to wonder though that if Klaus did this to one daughter he is certainly capable of doing it to both. I think Nastassja and her mom left the home under unusual circumstances when she was about 10. Pola says she wrote about it because she is tired of everyone always saying how wonderful her father was and how great he was and she just could not take it any longer.

  1. Grrr, Blogger ate my comment.
I was saying how I know of Nastassja, but not of her dad or sister. I always admired her when I was little. If this is true I am so sorry for them.

  6. He was always a creepy guy.

I always thought Nastassja was such a beautiful girl(she still is but when she was first in movies)

  7. Well shit I loved him as an actor - especially in Aguirre The Wrath of God one of my very favorite films. I'm just disgusted now.

  8. Yes, Supapimp, it happens EVERYWHERE. Everyone reading this probably knows someone.

In pockets of certain cultures, American AND non-American, grooming daughters to keep the father with the family, to keep him from leaving for a younger woman--is grossly common. It's generations deep usually, is what I'm saying.

  9. I don't believe women who reveal abuse stories just in time for the release of a book and years after the death of the "abuser".

    1. Maybe she's trying to get more attention so that the thousands of other girls and women who have experienced this will actually hear the story.

    2. It is not uncommon for victims to only come to terms with a family member raping them after that person has died. And if this really happened and she can vent and make some money for herself, good on her. And why - if you felt you could - wouldn't you tell the world a man who is glorified actually was scum?

  10. not surprised, kinski was always the creepy enfant terrible of european cinema. here are some quotes i found:

"Klaus Kinski was the craziest person I’ve ever met. I had him for a week on that picture [Creature], out of a seven-week shoot. I remember the first words out of his mouth. He put his arm around me on the set and said, 'You know, Bill, when Nastassja was 12, I raped her.’ And things went downhill from there....

"One time I was having lunch with him and his agent, and the producers were there. He had a girl with him who couldn’t have been a day over 15. While she was gone from the table, I leaned over and asked, ‘Klaus, where did you get this girl?’ He said, ‘Oh, vell, I hang around the schoolyards.’ And I knew the way he was saying it, he was telling me the truth. Klaus Kinski is dead now, and the world is a better place for it. He’d be happy I said that."

    – William Malone, director, as quoted in Fangoria magazine, 1999.

i think he also wrote that he slept with his daughter, in his autobiography, which was then forbidden in germany. people probably thought he was this crazy "genius" and made stuff up on purpose.

  11. He was a magnetic actor to watch onscreen but he was a certifiable madman. I've read parts of his biography and it was beyond shocking. There is a great documentary about him made by Werner Herzog called 'My Best fiend' that illustrates their tumultuous relationship. Kinski was offered the part of the bad guy Nazi in Raiders Of The Lost Ark and I'm glad he turned it down because I wouldn't want my favorite movie of all time tainted in any way.

  12. One of my college professors met him once at a film festival (he was an English professor, but taught a lot of classes about film and has written a few books about it). He said he was really excited to meet Kinski because he was one of his favorite actors, but when he did meet him he was so creeped out by his behavior and "vibes" (prof is kind of a hippy) that he got away as soon as he could.

  15. This is such a gross perversion of parenthood. It is too bad the girls had no one to help them.

They must have unbelievable trust issues and great anger.

  16. Nastassja is very beautiful but from all reports, a very odd duck. I can't even imagine what it must have been like to have Klaus Kinski as a father.

  17. I've seen some of his movies (Klaus) always thought he was the most ugliest man in the world and weird.

I didn't know Natasha was his daughter but I always thought she was kind of weird herself.

  18. WOW. I had never heard any of this! I may want to read the bio, just for shock value alone, if nothing else!

OT, has anyone heard anything more about the GreeDay singer who went into rehab at the end of last year? He popped in my head and I can't find any updates.

  19. This doesn't surprise me. I can also see her wanting to set the record straight. As others have said, it happens way more than you think and it makes people uncomfortable to talk about it. Mackenzie Phillips received backlash from her own family, with Chynna believing her and Bijou not believing her. She even received backlash from incest survivor groups for her saying it was consensual. She now says it wasn't, in the sense that as her father he had power over her so it was not an equal relationship. Sad all around.

  20. So, the guy who always played fuckin weirdos...was really a fuckin weirdo. Women I've known over the years have shared with me details of similar scenarios. usually the eldest daughter is the victim. its almost like they continue to sacrifice themselves to protect their younger sisters. Unsung hero's if you ask me.

    1. Sadly, I've seen this to be true. Happened to more than one friend of mine and it makes me sick. As a mother of little girls... Just sick. I'd literally cut off the peen of any man who did that to them, even if it was a family member. And yes, I'm using the word literally correctly.

  21. Years ago, I saw Nastassja kinski on Dave Letterman's old nightime show that came on after Johnny (I'm old. He's just Johnny to me). She was either stoned or having a mental breakdown because her behavior was just bizarre. She had her hair piled straight up on top of her head like she just crawled out of bed. Weird. And yes, she had an affair with Polanski while making Tess.

  22. sorry but any one says that Khlaus Kinski was wonderful.Even Herzog who adored him as actor.
    Kinski was an alcoholic

i think it's not the first time i hear Kinski was violent or raped one of his daughters because i remember only his son came to his funeral and a story about Nastasia's mum

Nastasia Kinski had a long affair with Roman Polanski when she was 15

  24. Shout it, Pola!!!!!!

I was abused by my uncle for 3 years. I was highly discouraged from talking about it and I still am...40-45 years later. I went through years and years of therapy: my PTSD was triggered by the stories out of India and Ohio and the clinker was a cousin posting a photo of our mutual uncle. With the piccy, all my other cousins had to chime in on what an awesome dude Uncle B was. Drunken pedophile is now a swell fella after death. *smh*

  28. @ReesesPeace. Two people very close to me were abused by family members. We don't let one of the people near our children because we know what they did to another family member. This has caused EVERYONE to choose sides, even though what they did is common knowledge and we just want to protect our kids. It turns out that long dead grandad probably abused the abuser. Yeah, but everyone says he was a great guy.

Most of the family have turned on us for telling the truth. It really sucks and I hope you can overcome the pain.

  29. Cheryl, thank you. Yeah, there's a whole lot of taking sides and blaming on me, too. How sad is that? Children are labeled liars and troublemakers for daring to speak the truth. It sickens me. I hope those close to you have or are receiving help.

  30. @shakira, but it was an affair...this was before everything became so....sensationalized. It was considered to be an affair by both parties, so in their minds, it was an affair. Very different than the rape Polanski is accused/guilty of.

    ReplyDelete
  31. She was 15. He used his power and influence to have this "affair" with her. She was not an adult. Children are not equipped to make adult decisions. I see the aftermath in my office every week. Its sad when adults treat children sexualized by abuse as adults.

  32. He has super crazy eyes.

  33. He was certifiable insane. I don't doubt her story one bit.

    And Nastassia and Polanski..
Also complete abuse of power. No.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I agree with Shakira- an imbalance of power and a man who has a penchant for underage girls. Not an 'affair' in my books.

This guy was a sick POS. But like most abusers I'm sure he saw nothing wrong with his actions and would excuse them away. Just look at that garbage Sandusky. He's already attempting to appeal.

  36. Hugs to Reeses and Cheryl. I hope you've found some peace Reeses and Cheryl my thoughts are with you as well. I just wonder why people don't take the word of the abused but rather believe the abuser. It's the reason why people are afraid to confront their tormentors and the cycle continues and it's a bloody tragedy. Stand tall knowing you're doing the right thing. Being right doesn't equal being popular as you are well aware.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Well, he did let Nastassja date the child rapist Polanski when she was only 15, so perhaps he's a member of a pedo ring. I hope the allegations aren't true, but if they are, may he spend the rest of his life in an Algerian prison and burn in hell thereafter.

    ReplyDelete
  38. And to all those reading this who might have been abused, you aren't alone. So many people are aware of this horrible thing that happens while being human, and hurt for you, even while you inspire us with your strength. I know I couldn't deal with going through what you have gone through. It might not seem like it sometimes, but people DO care and understand.

    ReplyDelete
  39. As I recall, back in the day, the rumors said that he not only let Nastassja date Polanski, but he more or less gave her to him--she lived with Polanski as a teen. I hope both half sisters can recover from what was done to them.

    ReplyDelete
  40. People like Kinski are highly skilled at making themselves look like they're wonderful to everyone else that way should their abusive ways come to light, no one will believe their accusers.

I know from experience (fortunately, sexual abuse).

    ReplyDelete
  41. Hugs and courage and the finest chocolates to all my abused friends. I'd do anything to change it for you.

  42. Back when Nastassia was an ingenue, the stories about incest started coming out. I remember her discussing it in an interview. She was very young at the time but discussed how she'd broken many taboos and had "tasted all the honeys," a phrase I never forgot. At that point in her life she lived with her mother, not her father.

Kinksi didn't "let" her date Polanski -- she and Kinski had been estranged for years. He may have given Polanski his blessing, but he did not give him his daughter. And she would've been looking for a father figure when Roman Polanski stepped in.

  43. In a lot of the incest and/or abuse situations, the parent picks one child to abuse or molest. So, it may have only happened to the one sister or Natasha might just not want to talk about it. And Roman Polanski, ugh.

    ReplyDelete
  44. "if it's true." ???? Seriously?

"My dad was a great man, and a great father. So I'm gonna make up a story that he raped all us kids."

    --Said nobody, ever.

I'm not directing that towards people here reading the story. It's more towards people who hear about it in their own lives, and decide the abuser "couldn't possibly have done that! He's so nice! He buys us candy! He takes us fishing! He never did it to me!"

    ReplyDelete
  45. Nastassja Kinski did not have an affair with Roman Polanski!

Klaus Kinski sets up a life where he rapes his kids, and grooms them to accept it. He becomes estranged from Nastassja. Nastassja has been ingrained with "fathers bugger their children" AND she probably feels abandonment. So she's gonna look for an older man, a father figure. If you are an adult and you enter a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old girl -- even if she comes onto you -- you are abusing a child. That is groomed statutory rape and abuse.

If Polanski was friends with Kinski, he probably knew these children were ripe for picking. Even if he didn't know, he could probably see she had some serious troubles.

Again, even if she hit on him, there is no legitimate reason for an adult to have a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old kid.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I had zero knowledge of this situation is why I said "if it's true". None. Now I know.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Nastassja had a child with Quincy Jones. Polanski was married to Sharon Tate, who was brutally murdered by the Charles Manson crew. For the young whoopersnapper:)

    ReplyDelete
  48. polanski is a pig but at that time it wasnt it legal to marry a 15 yr olds in most countries? klaus is a monster. so sad

    ReplyDelete
  49. The legal age of consent is much different in European countries than here in the US. Google it, I'm not joking. THAT's why I say it was an affair and not a child-rape situation. Granted, I no nothing about their relationship, but here's a quote I found directly from her: "It started out as a light romance," she recalls, "but he became demanding and possessive."

    ReplyDelete
  50. Always tell. It's never too late.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I think it's true. There were articles and stories in the 80s and 90s in Europe about him raping Nastassjia too...

    ReplyDelete
  52. Renoblondee - Don't worry, I wasn't picking on you! :D My "if it's true ???" really was meant towards people who tell their families they've been sexually abused, and the families say that back, refuse to believe it, or make the victim into the bad guy.

A good friend of mine, her father did that to her, and her mother was less sympathetic and more... jealous. Woman took it as competition, like he was trading in for a younger model. The mother did eventually wise up, but my friend was pretty messed up for some time.

    ReplyDelete
  53. There is a 28y difference between Polanski and Nastassja Kinski. So, in his mid-40s he had sex with a 15y old (coming from a troubled background).
It may have been consensual, but where is the equality between partners in terms of experience, power, independence?
I would maybe not call him a rapist but I d definitely see him as a vile and disgusting piece of s###t.

@Shakira Eakins "Its sad when adults treat children sexualized by abuse as adults."
So true, thank you for reminding us of it.
