Justin Timberlake Is Performing At The Grammy Awards

If there is one thing Justin Timberlake can do it is be one of the best guest hosts on Saturday Night Live. The other thing he does well is perform which he will be doing at the Grammy Awards. I think it has been four years since he performed at an awards show. That means I have had to sit through four years of something Justin does not do well. Act. I am looking forward to seeing him on the Grammy Awards and keep hoping SNL is going to say they made a mistake and meant to announce that Justin Timberlake would be hosting the show and not Justin Bieber. Right now, Justin's phone is ringing and Lance Bass is calling and asking if Justin needs him on stage with him. Even as a backup dancer. Or a tree. He is good at being a dancing tree.

  4. Is he going to perform that awful Suit and Tie song?

  5. Is he going for a Michael Buble look for this album? Everytime I see him lately, I think it's Buble first.

  6. He'll probably perform "Suit & Tie" judging from the photo, but I don't see how even a live rendition can improve it much. Die hards will still probably gobble it up.

  7. Lance would not be a good dancing tree...he was just awful

  8. lance pretty good in his band boy days.

  9. Maybe JT has been reading these sites and took the public advice that he should making music, not movies. I actually like his new song a little. Although I didn't think his acting was that bad. I've seen worse with so called trained actors/actresses.

  10. I'd totally have Justin Timberlake over for dinner. I bet he'd be a good time.

  11. What? I'm trying to decipher this. Was he a good host and a bad actor? That doesn't make any sense. Honestly I don't think he's that bad an actor.

OT Alert: any word on Liho being skewered for not showing in court?

  12. @Sherry, she showed and isn't going to jail. There's another court date on March 1st.

  13. @Sherry - go read the first LiLo post of the day. A number of us live-blogged it (she did show up).

  14. I love me some Justin Timberlake...the singer, not the actor. Although he IS pretty good on SNL. Looking forward to the new album and new performances.

  15. Aww why the Lance hate? He is such a very nice guy in real life and he adores his three rescue dogs. Also he is 10000000x more beautiful in person than any photo has ever caputred. The man has the most amazing eyes and skin. No fair.

  16. I hope HOV performs with JT. That would be the only saving grace.

  19. SNL is live, acting is on film. He comes across bad on film I do NOT think the camera loves him or the way he delivers his lines. I know Clint Eastwood seems to be pumping out quite a few movies lately and this last one where he hired Timberlake-Why? Clint is showing his senility on this one or has lost his battle against studio heads to cast his own movies. The only way I'm going to watch is when it shows up free on basic cable. And I like baseball movies!

  20. Timberlake is a good comic actor. He's just one of those movie stars who plays some version of himself in the movies. Ashton Kutcher is the same sort. They may not have the chops to do tragedy but for comedies they're perfect.

  21. @ReesesPeace -- maybe Dancing Queen is apropo? :)

I loved the movie he did with Mila Kunis. His Kris Kross was awesome. Seth Rogan is a worse actor than he is.

  23. Don't like him as an actor either but he's pretty good with comedy and of course singing. The new song didn't impress me much though so I hope his other material is better.

  24. I think I may be the only one who doesn't have a problem with his acting. Guy can do no wrong in my eyes. Well except for the whole marrying Jessica Bile tihng.

  25. He's not THAT bad of an actor. He's just super rad at singing and dancing so it pales in comparison. Sigh, Justin...

  26. He's decent as an actor. Not great, not bad. I've certainly seen a lot worse.

  27. Justin singing is MUCH better than Justin reading a Shakespearean monologue. I wish he would stick to music but he wants to be known as a dramatic actor. :(

@ JSierra - that wasn't a typo, was it? Jessica Bile? I like it!

  28. I've only seen him act in Black Snake Moan and Alpha Dog but he was completely unconvincing to me in both roles. To me.

I like him on SNL, though! To me.

    To me.

  29. Who cares. I think he's grossly overrated.

  30. Mango nope! But the word after that was, whoops.

Ingrid I didn't know he was in Black Snake Moan, but ITA he sucked a donkey in Alpha Dog.

  31. Suit and Tie sounds like a bad Robin Thicke knockoff. I'll pass.

  32. I think I'm bored with our famous people....at least for today...

  33. One trick pony with boring wife

  34. @Ingrid Superstar - Seeing him in both those films, esp. Alpha Dog made me think WHO is telling this kid he can act?

But he *is* great on SNL, so I don't know what that means. He's a shitty dramatic actor but good at comedy/improv?

I was never a big N'Sync fan, but I LOVE Lance. He always comes across as down to earth and funny in interviews.
