  1. I thought Jodie Foster's speech - and her cuddle up to Mel Gibson - was the evening's highlight.

  2. I'm glad Affleck and Adele won. Swifty looked so ticked off!

    ReplyDelete
  3. Did anyone else catch Swifty's bitchface when Adele won?
ALSO-Bradley Cooper flashed anger when he lost. he and JLaw looked too cozy for my liking, even if it is fake.

Also Jessica Chastain's hair looked like she has receding hairline. BAD! Oh, and her dress was awful.

So happy for Ben...I wonder if there was any Lopez/Garner drama? I noticed JLo's BF wasn't there---Probably in Time Out.

RDJ KILLED IT! Jodie's speech, the part to her mom--I was sobbing. Love Jodie.

    1. I think I saw Casper once in the corner of the screen with JLo. Agreed on RDJ and Jodie's speech, I didn't just tear up, I was sobbing also.

  4. Even though Gibson is a total prick. I do like they fact that him & Jodie do seem to be very good friends & everyone one else can go jump. Friendships like that are hard to come by. Especially somewhere as fake as Hollywood i'd assume.

  5. rcb--jinx on the Swifty.

My favorite crack of the night was telling her to stay away from MJFox's adorable SON! OMFG!

  6. @libby- oh casper was there, I saw him with JLo.

Tina and Amy did an amazing job!

  7. I didn't watch. Sick with the flu, but I'm bummed Breaking Bad nor any of it's actors won. This past season was awesome. However Costner was hella good in H&M. Maybe Cumberbatch will get more of a fan base over the next year or so. He's super talented and I love love love his voice. The fact that he looks like my younger sister rules him out of the crush zone.

    1. Did anyone else think Costner's speech was weird? What was he saying? No one pays any attention to him? Was he mad or glad? Did not understand him.

  8. My two faves of the night:

    1) Jodie Foster coming out

    2) Jennifer Lawrence's "I beat Meryl!" (because I always love a First Wives Club shout out)

Also love that the Oscars look like big assholes now for not even nominating Affleck for best director!

    1. I didn't even make that connection with the First Wives Club! Hahaha I think love JLaw even more now.

  9. I only watched the monologue, but my favorite was Amy Poehler's crack about Kathryn Bigelow knowing a lot about torture because she was married to James Cameron for three years. I thought Jessica Chastain was going to fall out of her chair, she was so shocked that they went there.

  10. Oh BTW JLaw and BCoop are lined up to be in another movie together. So expect that to play out till next award season.

  11. rcb---I didn't see him. I assumed he wasn't the type she would take to her 'classy' functions.

UGH and her DRESS was so fug....JLo, that is. She always always always tries to push the 'sexy' every single time. She just looks cheap.
CZJ, Jodie, Julianne Moore, JLaw, Swifty, Anne H, Jen Garner--ALL had stunning dresses and looked sexy, without having to do the naked look JLo seems to always default to.

Her 'career' and its constant life-from-lifelessness annoys me, sorry.

  12. I think Amy Poehler btw, is looking SO NOT HURT by her divorce...Living well is the best revenge, and if Wil cheated on her, I hope he spent last night watching her do so well, salting his pretzels with his tears of regret.

(I love GOB, but if he hurt Amy---He is dead to me.)

  13. btw--I haven't gone through the 600-post 'reactions' thread. So sorry I'm so darn chatty about the show...But many great moments.

  14. I feel like Daniel Day Lewis is the new Meryl Streep. If he's nominated the other players don't have a shot in hell winning the award.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Jodie Foster has been out, as she said, forever. But loved this.

    High...Ben Affleck
    Low...AnnE Hathaway

  16. I'm really happy for Ben Affleck, and I think both he and Kathryn Bigelow should've received Oscar noms. Affleck has grown on me over the years.

I thought JLo looked amazing, but her boy toy is fugly as F. I wonder what Diddly Piddly thinks.

I'm not crazy about this super low cut dress trend. See Julia Roberts, Amy Poehler & Jessica Chastain as examples.

Anyone have an opinion as to who's going to win the Oscars now? I think the winners for acting will be the same, but I have a feeling Les Mis will win best picture.0

  17. I think I missed Casper, because I only recognize him looking douchey in casual wear.

    1. @libby he was next to her all night rubbing elbows with Clooney at one point. I couldn't believe she took him.

  18. Copper will dump Jennifer Lawrence after the Oscars cause he's not going to win...
    I can't stand him...

    ReplyDelete
  19. Does anyone know if there's a place to watch the entire broadcast? I forgot to set it to record last night. Blargh.

Yes, I have googled, but I can't comb through pages of results. Stupid having to work for a living.

  20. P.S.
    So glad Ben Won...

Did you see Halle Berry's dress ?...it reeked of desperation...I think she's single again.

    ReplyDelete
  21. MISCH---ITA. I thought Halle looked skinny & unsteady last night. Unhappy or on pills or something was OFF, even for her.

  22. I really thought Lincoln was going to win over Argo. Ben looked seriously surprised, that was a highlight. The Oscars snub was uncalled for.

I liked Jessica Alba and Salma Hayek's dresses the most. J Law and Adele were so funny in their speeches.

AnnE tried to convince everyone she hadn't been rehearsing that moment for months, it was awful. And then she goes and makes the Les Mis win all about her!

    1. @lotta oh my god i know i can't stand anne and the way she jumped to the mic when les mis won!! i was like bitch this isn't your award this is for the movie! her ego hasn't gotten so big i just can't stand her anymore i want her to be gone. just imagine when she wins the oscar, that big head won't be able to fit into the room!

  23. Lotta---I just think the juxtaposition of Casper vs. the guy onstage who just won 'Best Director' was too delicious.

And then he mentioned his 'trouble' career-skip...I SO wished they had cut to JLo right then. Everything was fine for ol' strippers-'n'-poker Ben, after he dumped JLo, lol.

It was GREAT, right after his Oscar snub too. He seemed a little deflated-looking in the beginning, then he was really surprised & delighted when he won, and I was so thrilled for him.

  24. I'm out of town and on my iPad so bear with me. Could not attend he 600+ post fest last night.

Wtf was up with the bust on Jlaw's dress?

They blanked out part of Jodie's speech!

    Anne H. was insufferable.

    Loved Tina and Amy.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I didnt know Jodi Foster was friends with Mel Gibson! She still is a great actress but i see her differently now.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Loved Tina and Amy.

Loved Jennifer Lawrence speech, note to Anne, that's how you do a humble speech.

So very happy Ben won not only best director but best picture. A lovely FU to the Academy. I still am baffled he didn't get nominated!
Does anyone know what was said when Jennifer Garner was about to add on a thank you for Ben because he missed thanking the producers? She looked like she was about to cut a bitch with that glare. I want to know what was said!

And lastly Will and Kristin made my night. They were hilarious!

  27. Is homeland really that good? I might have to start watching.

And I'm already such of les mis

  28. Jessi--- the main producer he forgot was friggin' Clooney--So probably just playful. Maybe I missed something.

@Libby--with you all the way re: Amy P. I have huge amounts of respect for that woman. He'd be dead to me too.

@bobbi--Much love for Cumberbatch, or as I call him, Cucumberpatch. I never understood the expression "I'd listen to him read the phone book" until I heard this man speak. SWOON!

    ReplyDelete
  30. Christo that was hard to read. I have a feeling the HFPA totally shut out Lincoln as a screw you to the Academy, since Lincoln will prb sweep there. Argo took home a few last night and was not nominated for any Academy Awards.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Julia Roberts was there? How the hell did I miss that?

Julia Roberts presented the last award for best picture. I didn't get to see all the show last night but saw the clip of Adele's speech this morning, she's adorable! Humble, beautiful and genuine she looked great next to Jlo in her nude dress, contrived hair and no talent.
Jodie's speech was good, a little hard to follow but the sentiment was good. I do find it ironic that her speech was about privacy but this morning people are trying to figure out who the sperm donors were. I love a good baby daddy mystery (jj) but it does seem to be a little unsavory.......don't bash me please I'm sck and can't handle it!

  36. I loved Jennifer Lawrence's acceptance speech. It was cute. I thought JBlow looked like she was wearing a slutty wedding dress. What was it with everyone having the same hairstyle swepted to the side? Tina Fey and JBlow must have the same hair dresser.

I too loved the expression on Swifty's face when Adele won. I also liked Adele's acceptance speech.

I found Anne Hathaway's faux sincerity annoying.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Notice how pissed Spielberg looked after Ben won. I'm sure Argo was good, but better than Les Mis, really? Clooney and Weinstein called in all the favors. They may have drawn a line in the Oscar sand with that one. Nobody puts Spielberg in the corner, especially when he brings Bill Clinton to the party! George, Harvey, you in danger girl.

    1. Almost forgot, JLaw giving B Coop a corner mouth kiss then gushing about how he made her better, they're totally doing it.

Tina and Amy were even better than I imagined.

      Delete
  38. I didn't watch, though I am pissed Lena Dunham and Anne Hathaway won. Lena is NOT the voice of my generation. "Millenials" are not spoiled twats who have the world revolving around them, as seen in the craptastic Girls. Okay, now her dress. What the fuck? It's as if she seeks out outfits to make her look dumpy. Argh!

    ReplyDelete
  39. I wish the director had shown more shots of Affleck's or Garner's faces when JBlow was on. That director missed a lot of opportunities.

Wasn't Game Changer nominated last year? I feel like that TV movie was on two years ago and nominated before. Maybe I'm thinking of the Emmys.

    ReplyDelete
  40. While I'm sure it's true that not *all* Millennials fit in with that crowd, at least in my own experiences (and my husband who has told me some great workplace stories), the show rings pretty true for us. And that's why I find it so hilarious.

I was happy she won even though I CRINGED when she said she made "I got through middle school comment." I KNEW that wasn't going to go over with Tina, ha! The Chad Lowe shout out was pretty hilarious. I'm pretty sure someone did help her dress for the night based on a red carpet interview I saw, but poor thing could not walk in those heels.

I thought the whole show was great, especially anytime Tina/Amy were on.

  41. Ahh Libby yes that could very well be what the look was for. Her look just looked so icy that I thought maybe someone was heckling her for finishing what Ben forgot to do.

But also I am confused, I thought Les Mis did win. I think the two films that won last night are Les Mis (best comedy/musical) and Argo (best drama)... Or are referring to the Oscars @puggle?

    ReplyDelete
  42. Jazzy, YOU MADE MY NIGHT with that comment!! I haven't spit coffee through my nose in forever! That was comic poetry.
