After seven years of dating, George Lucas has finally put a ring on it. The 68 year old Lucas is engaged to his 43 year old girlfriend Mellody Hobson. So, if my math is correct he was 61 when they started dating and she was 36. I guess he is trying to get married before he turns 70. I wonder what made him finally ask. Maybe the sale of his company? Mellody is the president of an investment company in Chicago.

ReplyDeleteNo, he's not gay but he often took Spielberg as a "date" to events and wasn't seen much with women before Mellody Hobson. I think his kids are all grown now so why not? She certainly isn't a gold digger.

DeleteLOL...I had to ask my daughter how much he sold Star Wars TO Disney for. She quickly answered, "$4 million but it as 1/2 cash and 1/2 Disney stock." She probably knows the entire structure of the sale....

Speculation is he will donate it to his charity, Edutopia (thanks again, Lola Jr., lol) which funds education initiatives (which is his thing). I'm not sure what non-profits, specifically that Edutopia funds but I do know they help fund Science Fridays on NPR (that info is all me, btw), which I love (and it's all about me, after all).
