Blind Items Revealed
November 16, 2012
This always A list singer is fighting for his life and is losing the battle. No matter what treatments he tries and no matter what he does to try and improve, things don't. Everyone is shocked that he has a chance to make it through 2012.
George Michael
Noooo! Is he pos?
ReplyDeleteWow. Ugh.
ReplyDeleteDrugs?
ReplyDeleteI like George Michael. And I always liked the Heath, too, just like he does .. i like it in the day time though .. maybe not such a good call for him though. Sad. I like George Michael :(((((((
ReplyDeleteNot my beloved George! He needs a dia treatment stat!
ReplyDeleteDid he ever come out and say what he really has? It's not just pneumonia, right?!?
George Michael will always embody fun, charm, and sexy for me! I loved seeing him on that singing drama with Johnny Lee Miller. Sorry the name escapes me.
Eli Stone? Good show!
DeletePS - pneumonia is no joke! I'm just confused bc the article I read mentioned a trauma and needing counseling for the ttauma, so I don't really understand what happened.
DeleteThanks Carebear! You and I were they only ones who liked it, apparently.
DeleteIt was a lot of fun! Wacky but fun!
BunniFooFoo got it right on the second guess.
ReplyDeleteThis one bums me out.
ReplyDeleteaids
ReplyDeleteI'm really starting to feel old. All my childhood idols are dropping like flies. First Michael, then Whitney, now Wham?!!! (When I was a kid, I thought his name was Wham :-).
ReplyDeleteOh noooo! I was really hoping this wasn't him.
ReplyDeleteWhenever a huge artist dies they're album sales explode, people come out of the woodwork to talk for money, everyone is suddenly the best friend, it's such a vicious cycle. I have a feeling all of this will happen to him if he really is that ill :(
And yet Stones are still alive. It's shocking and I feel bad for George. Big Pharma needs to get out of the way.
ReplyDeleteNo shit. Keith Richards will outlive us all.
DeleteAw, hate to hear this! I was gonna marry George when I was 9! :(
ReplyDeleteNOOOOOOO!
ReplyDeleteI cry inside. Boo.
ReplyDeleteI love George. I hope he survives forever.
ReplyDeleteBut I am confused. He looked fairly okay when he performed at the Olympics. I know it was only one performance, and they could have somehow gotten him through it, but if he's positive and very sick, that would seem unlikely.
Maybe he just can't get his drug use under control, which is also tremendously sad. I wish he could love himself a little.
:'(
ReplyDeleteHe just makes me swoon.
I too LOVE LOVE LOVE George Michael! He has been open about his love for weed and strange, but I haven't ever heard he was in to anything stronger. Fighting for his life though? Sounds like hard drugs. He's never gotten skinny though. He had pneumonia pretty badly as you all mentioned. I'm stumped on this one.
ReplyDeleteNo, I loved loved loved Eli Stone. Another causality of the Writers Strike. It was just gaining momentum when the strike happened.
ReplyDeleteI remember years ago, Boy George was ranting the Gm should come out and admit his HIV status, that it would help so many in the gay community.
His first real boyfriend died of AIDS and was diagnosed not long after they started dating.
If he is + as a huge fan (say him in concert in 2008) it would certainly not change my opinion of him, if anything it may help him, I can only image how I would need to self medicate if I had a chronic illness.
yes he is POS, loves "I'm never gonna dance again..."
ReplyDeleteSadly we knew this one...he refused to get tested even thought he was having unprotected sex...
ReplyDeleteHe waited to long to get treatment. I know men who have been HIV positive for over 20 years....the new drugs work.
:( I was so mad when it came out that he was gay/bi. Damn you, other team, first you get Greg Louganis and now George Michael?!
ReplyDeleteI hope he gets better - pneumonia is no joke. I gotta have faith!
Interesting that it says "no matter what he does to try and improve," though. You really can't "try and improve" from pneumonia, it either responds to treatments or it doesn't.
Ditto on Ms. Snarky's comment. Maybe it was the Olympic euphoria, but damn! He looked amazeballs in London. Hope he gives rehab a try or some version of counselling.
ReplyDeleteis anyone remember the Enty blind item on Billy Idol or Metloaf becoming blind some years ago?
ReplyDeleteThis makes me so sad.
ReplyDeleteThis is seriously making me tear up. I love this man so much. He was the most beautiful man on earth. Beyond talented.
ReplyDelete@Renoblondee, seriously, an embodiment of "Greek God". Anytime I hear Kissing a Fool, I just have to pause for a minute. As great as the 80s were for him, the 90s work is so great too!
DeleteOh yodelay, that song is so swoon-worthy. I remember we tried to talk our Jazz Ensemble director into letting us perform that one - Mr. H. wasn't quite as enamoured with GM as we were :-).
DeleteI just watched Kissing a Fool on youtube, then went right into Wham! I'm Your Man - oh my gosh, I feel 15 again! Slightly OT - I miss real, honest to God, 80's hair on men. George had a fuckin' spectacular head of bouncing, vibrant hair back then. Goodness, takes me back - these hipster doofusus we've got running around right now with their 80's glasses don't know what they're doing!!!!
Delete^ this
DeleteDammit! I logged in! Why ya gotta call me "unknown"? In addition to Frufra's comment about real 80's hair, I loved Eli Stone and have adored GM since I saw Wham do "Wham Rap" on American Bandstand. What was that - '81? - Kelley (in case it Unknowns me again)
DeleteKelley, I could do the entire Wham Rap for you RIGHT NOW! Squeeeee!
Delete@Frufra, I think we might know each other. My best friend used to listen to that rap all the time! LOL!
DeleteBummer. I hope he pulls through, whatever it is.
ReplyDeleteThis makes me sad, saw him in concert in the early nineties and he was an amazing performer
ReplyDeleteHe sounded fairly happy and healthy when he tweeted on the 26th of December:
ReplyDelete"Hey everyone! Belated HAPPY XMAS!!! sorry you haven't heard from your favourite singing greek for so long!"
"Fadi tells me some of you have been worrying about me, but you needn't worry, I'm doing great! Feeling so much better than I was...."
"Hope you've all had a lovely Xmas, mine is still going on, my house is full of my nearest and dearest, thank you for all your tweets...:)"
"Must get back to my party, bur looking forward to a great 2013, i promise it will be full of great new music, huge Xmas hug to you all! xxxx"
Can we get consistency with the rating system? If George is always an A-Lister and Liza is a former A-List C-Lister, there's something missing.
ReplyDeleteI think George is a survivor. I haven't read anywhere that he is HIV pos., unless I missed it somewhere.
ReplyDeleteLike lots of you guys I've been a fan since Wham.
He may have had a backslide in his sobriety since the Olympic performance, but I think he will rally like Elton John and take control of his health. Some people are stubborn that way, I guess.
this breaks my heart. i LOVE George Michael and have since the Wham days. he's incredibly talented and i love his solo work.
ReplyDeletei will really cry when he goes.
:(
George......<3
ReplyDeleteHe is so talented. I'm old so I remember Young Guns and Club Tropicana. My husband and I always joke about how we didn't know George Michael was gay back in the 80. All the girls swooned to Careless Whisper (I still do!)
ReplyDeleteCheryl, you aren't that old, because I remember those tunes as well, and I'M not that old :-)! And so true - us average Middle America Americans didn't even know what gaydar was back then. I had no clue about people I knew personally as well, and thought we were close friends, at that. It all makes me so sad, as several of my friends would have fared so much better in today's more open, accepting environment.
DeleteI love George Michael! Oh, this is so sad.
ReplyDeleteI love GM, very first concert I ever saw! (1987, Faith tour, Shoreline Ampitheater, most of you probably weren't even born yet!). Yes he's appeared very ill now and again in the last few years, but I'd LIKE to attribute it to him not being able to kick the pills, not him dying of AIDS. He seems fine now. Stay sober and healthy in 2013, George!
ReplyDeleteNOW I HAVE THE SADS.
ReplyDeleteI hope this isn't true.Really like George Michael.
ReplyDeleteAhh my 80's peeps have come out to play!
ReplyDeleteCheryl, count me in with the 'no idea' group! Like E Gee Be I saw that tour, ooh doggie, that man oozes sex!
Way back when, my friends used to joke that "I want your sex part III" was my song, because G n T's were my drink of choice ;)
sbalb: hell yes, I was born long before 1987! lol.
ReplyDeleteYes, @joella, we had fun in the 80s! And @sbalb, fellow bay area girl, mine was the freedom tour. My sister hooked up 4th tickets on the floor at the Oakland coliseum!
ReplyDeleteLove George, everytime I start to feel blah I always play Freedom!
ReplyDeleteI had hoped this wouldn't be about him but am not surprised. Very, very sad.
ReplyDeleteFrufra, I saw a pic of White Snake the the other day, man did they have some major hair!
ReplyDeleteWhen I look at the 80's "inspired" fashion I just shake my head, because we were all damn cute back in the day! Not this drivel that is being passed for 80's HA!
E! I'm a North Cali girl as well!
@Frufra Lol So true about the hair thing. I also feel like a girl again when I listen to Wham! songs!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to see us 80's people out and about. You guys are right though about 80's hair. It was spectacular. I started high school in 1980 and graduated from college in '88 so it is truly my era. My daughter looks cute in her sweater dresses but I rocked it better back in the day at the Limelight in NY.
ReplyDeleteBay area res now but moved from nyc (nc born and raised). Oh how I remember the Slimelight as we called it. Good times there I'm the late 80's.
DeleteHope this is wrong, love him too!
ReplyDeletesheeeite, I graduated in highschool in '87 (lol, our prom theme was "forever young") and what passes for 80's hair and fashion is sooooo not. le sigh. We had hair out to the ends of our hyuuuge shoulder pads. There wasn't enough Aqua Net and to keep it up - you need hair gel too! And the kinking hair irons, don't forget those. And then accessorize with streaks of color and loooooooong earrings that weighed about 3 pounds each.
ReplyDeleteBe well, George Michael. You will always be such a sexy beast to me.
Class of '88, Hazeldazel. I had the Nick Rhodes 'do. :D
ReplyDeleteLove GM. My uncle passed away from AIDS related pneumonia. It is no joke. Be well darling tortured soul. Your music has inspired the world.
ReplyDeleteThis is very sad. I wish all the best for George. I know he is gay but he was always my '80's hottie crush.
ReplyDeleteI loved "I want your sex"! even though I was never very provocative or sex-forward. I thought it was a fun song...
ReplyDeleteon another note...sad that Taylor Swift trashed "Last Christmas". Wham sang it with such heart, and she just reads the words off a piece of paper, like her usual crap.
Totally agree about Taylor trashing Last Christmas. It's my fav Christmas song and on the radio they just played her version this year and not Wham's.
Delete@Hazel and @Snap Class of '89! Forever Young was my Junior Prom theme!
ReplyDeleteThis is so sad. I hope he pulls through. I thought it was him when the blind was posted...
ReplyDeleteI can still see myself jumping around to "Wake me up before you go go" I couldn't dance to save my life, but I would try and do that 80's bounce, arms in swinging in the air with that little side step hop. The Molly Ringwald or The Bedrock, I don't know similar I think.
The lyrics to Careless are so haunting but also magical, one of my favorites.
Boy, I didn't know I missed the 80's!
This is so wrong! If he is positive, he needs to come out and say so! He could cast such a positive (no pun intended) light on getting tested and being treated! My baby brother didn't get tested even though a former long time partner had been sick and his life partner was positive (and asymptomatic). My brother came down with PML and trust me, it is a horrible way to go! I watched my darling brother who was brilliant and funny and simply gorgeous wither away, lose his speech and be reduced to diapers and tube feeding! If he has even just one person in his life that loves him, he needs to be open about the situation and get treatment! Because once someone loves you, you've an obligation not to bring such devastating pain to them! It's been six years and my poor mother still isn't even close to recovering from the loss of my brother! (jumping off my soapbox now.....thanks for letting me rant....just a sore spot with me....and very long story....)
ReplyDeleteOh, Spring, I am so sorry for your loss. What a tragic story. AIDS and cancer are tools from hell. :(
ReplyDeleteYes they are! Thanks DBZee. I worked for a while with the AIDS/HIV positive folks in the community where my brother had lived and it's so sad. One guy told me that no one had touched him, even just to hug him in over a year! Heartbreaking! But what is worse is that Sean's former life partner who is positive but asymptomatic, doesn't tell any of his partners now that he is positive! That makes me insane because that's tantamount to murder in my eyes!
ReplyDeleteActually, it is a crime in many states. Criminal Transmission of HIV. I seem to remember an article about a guy in CA who was deliberately infecting partners and he was charged with attempted murder. Could be wrong about the details, though. I agree, that's a terrible thing to do to someone; even if you're having protected sex, there's no guarantee that it will prevent spreading it to the partner.
ReplyDeleteSo sad about the guy who wouldn't be touched. I was in high school when the Ryan White movie came out and it was heartbreaking. I realize back then most people didn't understand how it was transmitted, but the way they treated that poor boy was atrocious. Angels in America was another one that opened a lot of eyes.
I sincerely hope GM isn't pos, but given his sexual history (trysts in public loos) and drug abuse, it's entirely possible. Get well, George!
@Spring
ReplyDeleteSo very sorry for the loss you have endured. It must have been frustrating that your brother was in so much denial and was so late getting tested.
I totally agree with you about George M. His partner must feel so helpless.
I lost many friends in the 1990s, but fortunately the rest are stable and taking care of themselves.
@Spring, so sorry for your loss. That is a tragedy.
ReplyDelete@yodelay I think that was me! Lol
ReplyDeleteGranted i was younger in the 80s but I remember all this! George was so freaking hot and with his permed hair. The 80s were the best
ReplyDeleteHe sang my second favorite Christmas song, "Last Christmas." My high school years are filled with Wham! and George Michael.
ReplyDeleteI think this rumor about him having AIDS has been around for a while.
Oh no. I was afraid of this. So sad. I'm going to have to listen to him on my long drive today. :(
ReplyDelete
