Blind Item #1

The casting couch works more than one way. This B- list television and movie actor is about to move up to B+ list or higher in the next few weeks with something that is going to be huge. His big breaks have come because even though he is straight, he is perfectly willing to sleep with another guy if it will advance his career. His biggest roles have come when he has had sex with the male producers casting for the roles.

  1. Smdh. You're going to have to narrow this down Enty. This could be any up and coming actor.

  2. True. This could be half of Hollywood.

  3. Someone in the new kevin bacon series?

    ReplyDelete
  4. Zach Braff? He's in Oz the great & powerful...

    ReplyDelete
  5. Taylor Kitsch

Would explain how he got cast in 2 blockbusters (even tho they were bombs)

    ReplyDelete
  6. Braff is higher than B-. He was the lead in a hit show and had a critically acclamied movie. Don't be messin' with my Zach now! ;)
Other than that, Ive got nothing. Hmmm.

    1. Plus his role in Oz is only that if voice talent. James Franco is the lead in Oz.

    2. Of voice talent.

  7. I think it's someone that is about to be announced in a big role. Like maybe they are about to announce who will be in 50 Shades in a few weeks. Or maybe someone who will be cast in a new superhero movie. Not necessarily something that already happened. Just my guess.

    1. @jane3113, yeah that's how I interpreted it too.

There's no knowing if that Warm Bodies movie is really going to be huge for Nicholas Hoult, it could be a huge flop like John Carter was for Taylor Kitsch's first leading movie role.

    2. My daughters (ages 17 & 16) saw an advanced screening of Warm Bodies last month and they're convinced it's going to be HUGE. They loved the book and swear the movie's even better.

I'm convinced this is Nicholas Hoult.

  8. more vague is impossible: every up and coming actor fits

  9. Sam Claflin - finnick in the next hunger games movie.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Too vague...but I thought of Cory Montieth

  11. I do like the idea of the lead in the 50 shades of grey being huge. We will see.

  12. Well, if it worked for Bradley Cooper...

    ReplyDelete
  13. Or how about Alexander Skaargard?

Okay, I seem to remember a couple of blinds that were suspected to be about Channing Tatum, or Zack Efron where it was said that a straight up and comer hotty had been ok with batting for the other team to get his start.

  18. I agree with Jane, I don't think it has been announced yet. I'm going to guess and its just a guess, Ed Westwick. I always wondered how he got his role in J Edgar. He's got the lead in Romeo and Juliet alongside Damien Lewis and Paul Giamati. Maybe he's gonna be the lead in 50 Shades too. You go, Chuck Bass! Work that money maker girl!

  19. I hope these actors that have to go gay for pay are bottoming for rough trick producers. I'd hate to think that they are getting away easy and just letting some old twink service them.

  20. I agree with the Nicholas Hoult guess. "Warm Bodies" looks like it's going to be a big tween hit. He was on "Skins" for a season and has done a few movies.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I think this is Max Greenfeld from 'The New Girl'

he recently got a Golden Globe nomination

    ReplyDelete
  22. Anonymous9:53 AM

Hoult also got roles in X-men and A Single Man by Tom Ford.

  25. I agree with jane3113...this is someone who is going to have a big role announced soon.
I think Channing Tatum is more famous for movies and there is no way he is considered B- right now.
Nicholas Hoult is getting a lot of attention for Warm Bodies and breaking up with Jennifer Lawerence, not sure if this is him...hasn't he been acting since he was a child?
I really could see Ian Somerhalder doing anything it takes to get a big role. I remember when he was practically campaigning for Christian Grey. I'll put my guess as him but I'll be curious to see who gets a big break announced soon.

    ReplyDelete
  26. lol @Tom i'm just imagining Charlie Hunnam and Kurt Sutter having sex. Now that would be a scandal!

Channing Tatum only does movies from his own production company now. So if it's him then he is blowing himself on his own casting couch.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I like the Nick Hoult guess. Maybe JLaw found out about some shenanigans and ditched him.

I believe she isn't hooking up with Bradley, I just need to believe that.

    ReplyDelete
  28. @ Count J - as much as I despise the casting couch principle I almost want to agree with you -- almost -- but isn't "old twink" an oxy moron?

    ReplyDelete
  29. Timebob I am going with the Channing Tatum guess. If he can do that you know hes been bragging. It would finally explain how a blind item got out.lol

    ReplyDelete
  30. Does Ryan Murphy have a show starting in the next few weeks? Someone on the next season of American Horror Story?

    ReplyDelete
  31. Oops, I sent before I was ready.

Or does someone have an upcoming arc on Glee or New Normal?

    ReplyDelete
  32. My first thought was Ian somerhalder for the 50 shades of grey movie. Ed westwick is a good guess, but I actually think he's one of the more talented people to come from gossip girl, so he might have got those roles on his own merit.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Do NOT talk about Riggins like that!

    ReplyDelete
  34. @Mango: yep, Urban Dictionary tells me you are correct. "Old twink" should be stricken and "sad old queen" replace it.

I would much rather the experience be with a virile closeted fellow that hates attractive men for making him gay, so he takes it out on them through vicious and violent sex. In short, more Dahmer than Takei. Not that George is in any way sad, just that he is a kind soul.

  35. This might be easier to look at in reverse. Let's make a list of gay producers and what projects they're currently attached to.

Off the top of my head, here are a few that are movie only: Scott Rudin, Howie Bragman, Bruce Cohen, Roland Emmerich, Howard Rosenman and Dan Jinks. There are a LOT more, if TV's included...

  36. Anonymous11:08 AM

My question is do they have to put out during the entire production? Gross. Chris Hemsworth and Henry Cavill also are rumored to be casting couch targets.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Ooh, @jane, good guess about the 50 Shades of Grey casting. Ian S has been all over the 'nets as fan choice. If you've read the tripe that is that book, check out "50 Shades of Chicken" on Amazon.com - omg, hilarious. I'm buying it for myself so I can have a least one belly laugh and chicken dish a week.

I don't think Alex Skaars (he of the most excellent body) - it's not exactly a secret that he bats for both teams.

Oh, high give to urg8 - don't be talking smack about Tim Riggins!

  38. Chris Hemsworth

  39. I'm wondering if it's TV or movies... As someone else mentioned on this thread, if it's movies, the field of producers is narrowed, same with TV....argh

  40. this makes me want to barf. i could never have sex that i was not okay with for a job like this. if i was starving, or my kid needed operation; maybe. but literally take it up the ass for fame? gross. and gross for THAT being the way it is. what a world.

    ReplyDelete
  41. it worked for Keanu.

    ReplyDelete
  42. The producers iof 50 shades are michael De Luca and Dana Brunetti. Both have kids and are married/longterm girlfriend. Now I realize that means nothing anymore. Dana has always had the gay rumors follow him because he started out as Kevin Spacey assistant. Now big time producer and president of TriggerStreet productions.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Me brings up an interesting point. You think the casting couch = ass whether it is an actor or actress taking the easy way to fame? I mean if I was the sleaze ball producer/director and I had a hot actress over a barrel, actually in this case over the arm of the couch, might as well push it and see what she'll put up with.

I tell you what would be a fun exercise for a slime ball producer: get the 2 actors/actresses that are the 2 finalists for a role in the same room and have them bid each other down the ladder of morals to get the part.

Also, these gay casting couch tales makes me wonder what was behind some actors passing on famous roles and others getting them? "Scheduling problems" may not refer to other projects going on, it may mean that the actor couldn't make it to Malibu for a candle lit audition.

I find it objectionable whether it is a male or female. It is so exploitative. if you really want the part ... I seem to remember Chris O'Donnell refused to do this and it limited his career. Sad.

  47. UGH 50 Shades of Grey. I have never hated a book, or an author as much as I hate E.L. and her beloved "Fifty".

The fact that so many women are head over heels in love with the book and it's "hero" Christian sickens me.

Jeez sorry for all my extra snark today, I don't know why but I just woke up in one of those incredibly snarky moods so my apologies if anything comes off overly harsh.

  49. Jai Courtney?

He's in the 5th "Die Hard" installment, which opens in a few weeks. He plays Bruce Willis's son, and it was a very coveted role. He kinda' came out of nowhere to get the role. He's pretty unknown at this point. His "big" tv role was in "Spartacus: Vengeance."

He was also just in "Jack Reacher." Maybe he buddied up with Cruise.

  50. timebob said, "Channing Tatum only does movies from his own production company now. So if it's him then he is blowing himself on his own casting couch."

I can totally see this happening. It would explain so very much.

Maybe in his 50's he will replicate it as part of a biography series on Broadway.

  52. Agent, I know! I wish I'd thought of it! I was reading the recipe on the Amazon page ("Dripping Thighs") out loud to Mr last night and we were both crying. I want to give all of my dishes super-slutty ambiguous names and put them on my FB page. Freak the in-laws right out! :D

  53. Nicholas Hoult sounds right. I don't think I've ever seen a prettier male than Hoult in "A Single Man".

    ReplyDelete
  54. LMAO Timebob.

Nicholas Houltbandwagon. He was TV show skins show and do movies Warm bodies that comes out 2 week.

Dam Chris Hemsworth was in show but he's already blown up. Tatum hasn't done shows. Henry is superman so i doubt its him since people know him

  55. BTW where are we with the "Guardians of the Galaxy" lead actor announcement ? This is going to be huge and it's been reported to be quite a fight.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Ed Westwick is a great guess, and would make an interesting Christian Grey (I haven't read the books but I have an imagination...)

My first guess though was Penn Badgley (he learned from Blake - LOL), yet he's higher than B- with the Jeff Buckley movie and Easy A, etc.

  57. @ me........at any given time, only 10% of SAG members [Screen Actors Guild] are employed and the average yearly salary of a SAG member was around $10K in 2000......that includes the Leos and Coopers who make millions per film. And to get into SAG you had to have had a speaking part in a film, on episodic teevee or a commercial. Do you any idea how hard it is to get a speaking part? And SAG doesn't even include all the other thousands of wannebees who come out to Hollywood each year hoping to break in.

Bottom line: if you are good looking but with average or slightly above average talent, you pray for the casting couch.......as gross as that sounds.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Anonymous6:34 PM

Maybe the actor doesn't have to be up and coming. What if he's currently known and his performance was mind blowing enough to give him a boost.

What about Rob Lowe in the Lifetime movie about the Casey Anthony trial? He even said on The Insider he doesn't know "what they saw in him and how he got cast for the role"...kinda makes me go hmmmm

    Plus he's very married/straight

    ReplyDelete
  59. On the note of only 10% of SAG are employed, you guys should check out that Sandy Hook conspiracy video. They founds some SAG members on the news giving the auditions of their lifetime. And yes, that is exactly what I am saying.

  60. JSierra, I'm with you. It's "what if Redbook wrote BDSM?" But for what it's worth, as unbearbly awful as her writing is, I can't be mad at EL James. She seemed as shocked as anyone when it hit so big. As long as she has a realistic opinion of her own writing and doesn't try to pass herself off as some sort of genre/writing authority, I don't begrudge her her success. Stephanie Meyer, on the other hand ....

    ReplyDelete
  61. Ohh you should read some E.L. interviews. She is a horrid, horrid person.

This blog was written by another dirty romance author Jennifer Armintrout (now Jennifer Trout)and she does chapter by chapter recaps so thank god, we don't have to. She includes a ton of excerpts from the book and gives a really refreshing, eye opening take on the series. She also posts a lot of links and quotes from articles about all of the shitty things E.L does. It is a really great blog to read, not to mention Jen includes full chapters from her own dirty books, and they make "50 Shades" look like Sesame Street.

    ReplyDelete
  62. This awfully looks like Alexander Skarsgard. I hope it's not him, I just don't imagine him being the type to have sex for a part.

I think the answer to this blind is whoever person is gonna star in 50SoG; since that movie has been buzzing like crazy and it has TONS of speculation on the lead actor role and who is gonna do it/fits the part. Askars is the most popular guess as far as I've seen.

PLEASE don't let this be him.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Couldn't find the tweet but I vaguely recall that Stephen Amell sent a 50 shades of Grey suggesting that he had the part. I think this will fit better with the B-list television actor.

    ReplyDelete
  64. @keetz4, "you pray for the casting couch..." omg, so you're saying i'd be hoping i got the chance to be fucked up the ass! wow, good thing i never got the acting bug i guess.

had a conversation with a friend yesterday (after i read/posted here) and she basically said the same thing you did. its just so outrageous to me.

  65. @Me: Everyone is a whore. We are all willing to do demeaning things for money (or other, more abstract considerations like fame or power).

We may have different thresholds of degradation, and one person's anal sex is another person's collecting medical waste or being a cog in a ruthlessly evil corporate machine, but we all have a price. You can't handle bottoming for a job, but that slutty actor might think what you do crosses a line.
