Yeah something tells me those sharks didn't make it. I think it was the shot of the guy taking a picture of the flailing, dying shark on the ground that clued me in.
I always think about that happening though. When I lived in Chattanooga, Tennessee one exhibit in the aquarium is this three story tall fish tank and you walk down a ramp which takes you from the top of the tank to the bottom. I used to always imagine it bursting and the room just filling up with fish and people. Scary though.
I just heard that all the sharks and the turtles died. Why in the world would the turtles die? I guess there was a lot of damage from the broken, flying glass. Poor things.
@del smh, people just don't think when they do things like this. no emergency plans because who cares about caged animals right? people can be so selfish
Well, I'll be the first to ask then: Are the people okay? Can you imagine being any one of those people right in front of that 30 ton tank when all that water burst out??? It looked like that one group has a split second notice before it happened -- I wonder, was there a huge cracking sound or something?
Are the sharks ok!?
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of a dummy puts a shark tank in a shopping mall?
ReplyDeleteYeah I know, I'm sorry anyone got hurt, but I just kept thinking about the sharks. Were they ok?
ReplyDeleteI actually don't think it's weird to have a tank like that in a mall, but obviously someone screwed up.
ReplyDeletePoor sharks!!! I doubt anyone helped them in all the pandemonium and people being hurt. Sadface.
ReplyDelete'Tofu construction' is what it's called in China. Shoddy workmanship, substandard materials, corrupt inspectors, the works.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I'm not the only one who thought about the sharks.
ReplyDeleteNutty's right. China is notorious for being so corrupt that you can literally pay anyone off to get around any laws. You pay to play.
ReplyDeletemy first thought was the sharks lol
ReplyDeleteGod, the poor sharkies. I can't stand seeing large animals in cages. Or birds - it drives me nuts.
ReplyDeleteI believe 3 sharks died :(

DeleteThat sucks. Those poor animals. :(
ReplyDeleteThe headline on DM made it sound like a shark came out of the ocean and dive-bombed a mall. Strange.
ReplyDeletePoor animals, and I bet the people were terrified, too. Shame.

ReplyDelete15 people were injured by flying shards of broken glass and suffered deep cuts and bruises. Per UKDaily.
DeleteTranslated back into English; Fuck You Sharks

Oh how horrible for man and animals alike. Of course there will be no ramifications for the people responsible. Tragic!
ReplyDeleteI love that you guys thought of the sharks. It was my first thought, too. Sad story.
