ReplyDelete@Vicki, the treatment of that military man on Delta was so upsetting. Unacceptable to treat anyone so callously and without dignity but a person who was injured in the line of duty should have been handled with honor.
ReplyDeleteWhat is it about great blues guitarists & bland MOR songwriting? You would think some of that scorching blues playing would rub off on the new songs. But instead you get Clapton writing "Wonderful Tonight" and "Tears in Heaven" and you get John Mayer rewriting the Stephen Bishop songbook.
ReplyDelete@ lazyday. Clapton wrote "Wonderful Tonight" for his wife and "Tears in Heaven" for his toddler son who died from a fall. Mayer just sucks.

ReplyDelete@Baka, a double amputee Marine, who lost his limbs on a second tour of Afghanistan was humiliated by insensitive flight attendants. An upset passenger lodged a complaint making the following incident public: Cpl. Christian Brown was flying Delta. For some reason, Delta boarded him last wheeling him the whole length of the plane in a clumsy and humiliating way. A passenger in first class offered to give up his seat, but the flight attendant rejected that offer. After being paraded to the back and suffering the clumsy bumps of the wheel chair into people (and I can imagine some inconvenienced passengers probably grumbled, glared, or even outrightly voiced their disdain for being bumped, etc), the complaint says the soldier had tears running down his cheeks, although he did not audibly cry. Must have been such a rough ride home for him.
DeleteAlso Cpl Brown lost his limbs last year, so mentally and emotionally, he is still adjusting to this loss.

ReplyDeleteKim - Peaches is the son of Paula Yates and Sir Bob Geldof.

--Singing for the band Boomtown Rats (their big song was "I Don't Like Mondays" in the early 80's)
--Creating BandAid and LiveAid, and the "Do They Know It's Christmas?" song.
Paula left Peaches' dad for Michael Hutchence of INXS, had Michael's baby, Michael died, she later died, Bob ended up raising the baby with the other kids. So yeah, Peaches is a little bit messed up!
