Also love 30 Rock. My BFF is obsessed with 30 Rock- she has met the cast several times (never tina or alec) and has gone to wrap parties before. No dirt but she said Jack McBrayer is the nicest person alive. I think she nannies for a producer on the show or for someone at NBC.

ReplyDeleteI can't help but feel sorry for Gerard Depardieu. I know he's supposed to be a major jerk, but his sad face, the bloating & weight gain, the wheelchair - none of this happened overnight.

DeleteI've never seen Alba act (or try, as I hear), but as a person, I like her more & more. She seems realistic and frugal, as opposed to just another Hollywood brand whore show-off.

ReplyDeleteI think alec B looks amazing and as much as I love Tina fey, I think she's a bit overrated as well but at least a woman is getting the credit for writing and acting. I presume she's so loved because she's also very nice and for that I respect her.
Confession--I think Tina Fey is overrated partly because she's super-hot, but not too unattainably hot. Along with a smart mouth, it's a magical combo I possessed for a while myself.
ReplyDeleteI always have a mindless tv show that's on in the background after I put my kids to bed. It used to be King of Queens (thats KoQ to my people) but now it's 30 Rock. The earlier ones kinda suck, but I love that Liz Lemon line "Lovers. Ohh, that word bums me out unless it's between Meat and Pizza)

Wow, I cannot believe anyone would find Tina or Amy Poehler overrated - they are the cream of the crop of comedians - male or female. They rock.

2) i agree with you, Libby. I love Alba because she seems like a down to earth person and Mama. People can do whatever they want with their money, but I was CRINGING the other day reading an article about spoiled celebrity offspring. They were talking about Suri's 3 million dollar wardrobe (which cannot be true, RIGHT??) and Blue Ivy's diamond encrusted baby tub worth about $56,000 (gift from Kelly Rowland). Again, people can do what they want with their money, but it turns my stomach when I think about how wasteful and tasteless that is, and what that $ could do for other people

Kind of like Seinfeld, Larry David, etc. It happens -- it's hard to do it all.
Speaking of Seinfeld, if any of you are fans there is a funny video on nytimes.com of him explaining a joke called "Pop Tarts".
@Christopher, I'm with you on the Kristen Wiig love...I hope she gets some really great roles in the future! SNL is NOT the same without her. :(
ReplyDeleteWe haven't watched 30 Rock in a few years, but we never miss Community. Amy is funny on the show, but the entire cast is great, so she's got fabulous supporting actors. Aubrey Plaza and Rob Lowe crack me up every week.
