Jack Klugman Has Died
Jack Klugman, the prolific character actor and regular guy who was loved by millions as the messy one in TV's The Odd Couple and the crime-fighting coroner in Quincy, M.E., died on Christmas Eve, his son said. He was 90.
Klugman, who lost his voice to throat cancer in the 1980s and trained himself to speak again, died with his wife at his side.
RIP Oscar.

ReplyDeleterip Oscar or Felix? I always mixed them up but my aunt named her cats after them. I didn't know he lost his voice I need to google that
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing man to have taught himself to speak again after throat cancer.
ReplyDeleteAh he was so good...RIP
ReplyDeleteJack Klugman was fabulous. We also lost Charles Durning. I am going to spend the holidays watching them in some old favorites.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the memories gentlemen. RIP.

ReplyDeleteOh how sad. How could anyone not like Jack Klugman. I swear if a Daddy Dearest book comes out I will cry.
ReplyDeleteAnd Charles Durning is dead too??? Hadn't heard that. Must have been something sudden because he is scheduled to perform during the Stratford Festival. How sad.
I loved the odd couple. He was hilarious. Rest in Peace.
ReplyDeleteQuincy had the best toupee. Seriously.
ReplyDeleteRIP, Jack.
Aw, I loved Quincy! Eating a sandwich at an autopsy made me laugh so hard when I was a kid. RIP, Mr Klugman.
ReplyDeleteI loved "The Odd Couple". I thought the show was so stylish and sophisticated when I was a child. Although he had divorced Brett Somers, he never remarried until she passed away. A classy gentleman.
ReplyDeleteCharles Durning was fantastic as Jessica Lange's father in "Tootsie".
I always thought he & Bret Somers were such a great couple, she died a few years back.

ReplyDeleteOscar made me laugh...the Odd Couple really was a great show in it's time, but Quincy was the best.
ReplyDeleteHe was a terrific dramatic actor too. Check him out in "The Days of Wine and Roses" as Jack Lemmon's AA counselor.
ReplyDeleteDays of Wine and Roses is a great movie. . .
ReplyDeleteI loved The Odd Couple. In the 70's, it was in syndication and I watched it when I got home from school. He and Tony Randall were the best.
I had such a crush on Klugman forever.....
ReplyDeletewho dares to taint a respectful post about a loved actor's death talking about Chestica??!! *throws side eye*
In all caps no less!
DeleteAwww, Quincy.
ReplyDeleteHow sad to read that two wonderful men passed over the holidays. :(
ReplyDeleteNow this one made me sad. I loved both Oscar and Quincy, and Jack Klugman's whole throat cancer battle was something to behold. He will indeed be missed.
ReplyDeleteSads :(
ReplyDeleteRIP Jack. Another angel up above to shower us with laughter.
Odd as it may sound, Quincy M.E. was one of the reasons I developed my interests in medicine and forensic anthro. It was a treat seeing a cool, fun scientist solving crimes.
ReplyDeleteRIP Jack, thank you.
I remember when he played John Stamos's father in You Again? It bombed on NBC in the 80s then Stamos got Full House. It was a really bad show.
ReplyDeleteLoved JK...God Bless...
ReplyDeleteRIP Jack Klugman. The Odd Couple is such a classic show. Tony Randall and Jack Klugman remained friends for 6 decades. Truly a wonderful partnership.
ReplyDeleteRIP, Jack. I loved the Odd Couple and Quincy, we'll miss you!
ReplyDeleteAwww, Jack. I love him. Thank god for reruns! He'll be alive forever.
