Britney Spears Getting Fired From X Factor - Pink To Replace Her?

Last week I said that Britney Spears would probably not be back on X Factor next season. Reports out now from US Weekly confirm this and say that Britney's $15M contract will not be renewed. It looks like Demi is going to be safe for a second, but she will be gone if Simon Cowell can find someone to replace her, but at the low salary she gets compared to everyone else, she will probably stay. I know she is nervous as anything about whether she will get to though. Apparently is Simon can't make the Rihanna/Chris Brown thing happen and he has to replace the judges individually, his number one choice for replacing Britney is with Pink and that the two sides have started talking, but that it will take as much, or even more money to get Pink per season because at this point, she is a bigger star than Britney.

  1. I really hope Pink doesn't do this. She's way too badass for all that contrived drama.

    1. She's a Philly girl! She would go OFF if someone just disagreed with her. Love her

  2. Pink would be an amazing judge! I might even have to watch if she was on.

  3. I thought I would watch for Brit but it just wasn't enough for me...
Why not get rid of Demi and replace her with Pink?!
LOVE Pink! I'd watch if that happened!

  4. Pink would be an awesome judge but I still won't watch.

  5. Simon wanted the crazy BritBrit not the drugged up one he got. That's a lot of money down the crapper to hear "amazing" endlessly.

  6. I love Pink and I think she's too badass, as mynerva so accurately put it, to reduce herself to this. I'm sure the high money/low work would be so very enticing! Btw, have you guys seen Pink's rendition of Janis Joplin's 'Bobby McGee'? Ah-mazing! Do listen to it!

And, a vanity comment: hot guy told me about 5 years ago that Pink looks like she could be my daughter. I still have quite the soft spot for hot guy for saying that! lol

  7. I'm surprised he's keeping Demi even at her low salary. At first I thought I was going to like her, but she ended up acting really bratty, immature, and spiteful. TBH, I thought Demi, Simon, and LA Reid were all kind of unprofessional. A lot of "feedback" they gave was just to punish another judge for giving a critique. X Factor has MAYBE 2 more seasons. It's not even close to the show The Voice is, and it'll never be what American Idol was.

  8. Someone with actual singing/performance talent judging a talent show? Stop it, Enty. You're such a tease. I hate those shows but I would watch anything with Pink. She is amazing.

  9. @Amber...hey girlie, I hope you got some sleep last night! I suffer from insomnia quite often so have much empathy for anyone who goes through it.

  10. If Britney would've been less sedated and more like she is in this clip, she would be safe.

  11. I was rooting for Britney but she really was drab. She didn't have anything interesting to say, she barely said anything. She did make some interesting faces, but that was it. Very little exchange between her and any of the other judges.

Demi got into it a bit with Simon and that saved her. Simon loves controversy.

Pink would be right in his face and she's got spunk.

  12. I'm a huge Britney fan, so clearly I have a biased view of this. I was dubious of this enterprise until I heard of the money. However, I didn't watch a second of the show. I hate those shows throughout. But from what I read, Britney was composed, showed up, did everything, threw herself into the work, spread some Britney glamour, and it's probably a wise idea for her to leave. As for her being boring, she's a mother in her 30s being monitored by a conservatorship. She's gonna be boring, compared to her peers. That's just reality.

  13. I lukes Britney. Her critiques were never rude for that sake of being rude. She had the group with the kids. She had them all sing and dress age appropriate, and they all did a fabulous job. She seemed very warm to them. Imo, boring is good, she isn't being outrageous to get ratings. I think she did a great job on the show, and was wonderful to the little ones she was mentoring.

  14. I love Britney too Barton! I did watch and I think she was keeping herself in check 'cause Lord knows everyone was waiting for her to break out the crazy! I think she minded her manners more than normal because of all the pressure to not say the wrong things.

  15. I agree with Barton. They wanted head-shaving, umbrella-wielding whacked-out Britney. :(

  16. I think anyone who can sing upside down would be an excellent judge for a talent show. I love Pink and I think she should do it. She can afford to take some time off from touring.

  17. Pink would be a great judge, worth every penny. Britney was as bland as her auto-tuned music.

  18. @Reeses - I did get a little more sleep last night. Tomorrow will hopefully be a lazy day. I've had insomnia problems since middle school, so it's nothing new to me. :)

  19. I wanted crazy Britney more than anyone. Very disappointing.

  20. I agree with mynerva, Pink is way to badass for this. But I would love to see her on the show, Pink is awesome.

My lucky mother got four front row tickets to see Pink in February. I almost stole them from her in the night.

  21. Ugh. I feel ya on the insomnia, Amber. I have an ambien prescription but by the time i realize it's gonna be one of those nights, it's usually too late to take it so it lasts forever. I also have trouble staying asleep. Once I'm asleep, I sleep like a rock but should I be awoken, I'm never getting back to sleep.

    1. @disco - not sure if you'll see this, but have you tried trazedone? It's non-addictive and doesn't make all kinds of craziness happen!

  22. Double ugh on the insomnia. I didn't get to bed until almost 3, then woke up at 8 and damned if I could fall asleep again. Glad it's still winter break, because I can't nap, either, so I'm going to be pretty useless. Mimosa!

  24. It must be murder keeping Brit Brit in line...probably just not worth the effort.

  25. @Amber about once a month I will have a bought of insomnia that will last a few days and it blows. I have some good insomnia websites though, let me know if you want to check any out! Occasionally I force insomnia on myself just reading crazy stuff on the internet.

  26. DBZee great minds think alike because that is the exact thought I had when I woke up this morning. I need a Mimosa.

  27. I would actually watch this crap if Pink were judging.

  29. I'm doubting this will happen. When I read this, a twinge of a memory pinged in my pop-culture-gossip-soaked memory: I read somewhere that PINK is repeatedly offered judging seats in singing comps and turns them down bc she thinks they're cheesy and "you can't be honest". Thanks to the Internets, voila!:

I think she is WAY too cool for this and X-Factor is WAY too lame for her to take a role in it. I can see her on The Voice though...mentoring and getting to voice an opinion.

  30. @brainyangel I was just about to post the exact same thing. I thought Pink said she would never do any of the "talent" shows.

  31. I hope Pink doesn't do this. I love her but I don't think this is a good idea.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I said from the start Britney was going to bring nothing to the table. Her people have her on such a lock down everything she said was prepared for her or she would say nothing.

When you get Britney you are just paying a monkey to show up and that is it. She can't even sing her own songs. She isn't going to have independent thoughts.

I am so sick of these singing contests. Please Fox just cancel it and be done with it.

  33. Pink's name was dished around some when they were looking for judges for the current season and she straight up said NO WAY. So don't hold your breath!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Oh dear God bring in someone hot and MAKE them a household name! I nominate Butch Walker. Man knows his music and people would love him.

  35. I used to like Pink, but she's a sell-out and kinda fake now. Cover Girl ads, seriously?! I don't hate her or anything but like I said, a sell-out. I could see her judging on this show nowadays, yeah.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Pink cant sell out, she was a genre hopping pop star wannabe from the start. No hate from me - get it, girl - but just cause she sneers a little more than her peers doesn't make her Fugazi.

    ReplyDelete
  37. They should stop trying to make the X Factor work.

    ReplyDelete
  38. @ Krissie - I don't know how you get fake sell out from a Cover Girl commercial???

    ReplyDelete
  39. Cowell should just put this dog of a show out of its misery. You could re-animate Judy Garland and make her one of the judges and the show would still suck like a ten baht Thailand hooker.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I would trust Pink's opinion on anything. I may not agree with her, but I would trust that she is a no BS type of person.

Yet, this reality show crap is beneath her. Don't do it!

  41. Yea, XFactor never took off and should be canned. Not everything that works in the UK works here Simon.

  43. Pink is touring North America in Feb and March and Europe in April and May. Shes pretty busy and pretty successful. I just cant see her agreeing to a crappy gig like that even if she had the time.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I frickin' love Pink!

@Amber, I've also suffered from insomnia on and off since I was a kid and all drugs designed to put you to sleep instead wire me...you have my sympathy. I hope your insomnia runs its course soon.

  47. I dont think Pink ever was, or will ever be as big as Britney.

    Like, come on.

    ReplyDelete
  48. @Mango, I think it's a sell-out act because she always does the "I'm such a weird outcast and I don't care about how I look!" schtick. People who really feel that way don't doll themselves up in fancy makeup and shill for billion-dollar companies.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I dont think its that Pink says she doesnt care how she looks, she has always taken very good care of herself, I think its that she says kiss my ass if you dont like who I am.
And no, very few people will ever be as big as Britney but that's like comparing The Rolling Stones to One Direction.
