Blind Items Revealed

December 12, 2008

#1 - This guy is an A list television star and probably B in films he has done. Probably not any higher than B list on name recognition though. Oh, he stars in one of those crime dramas. Anyway, for the past year he has just had his paychecks sent to directly to various charities in the city where he films his show.

Gary Sinise

  2. He is truly one of the good guys, thanks for revealing this one, I remember he was the popular guess. Merry Christmas Enty!

  3. I do believe he was guessed almost right away. Not my favorite actor, but this is a very very kind and generous thing for him to have done.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Wow. Did he have a rough life that made him become so generous? This is really incredible.

  5. We knew it! He is also very active in getting modified homes built for disabled vets and has been here to Fort Hood several times.

  6. What a good, decent man.

  7. Love this. Rock on Major Dan!

  8. Thanks, Enty! Nice to know that not everyone in Hollywood is a narcissistic, souless dick.

  9. Have loved Gary Sinise since the stand. This just makes me swoon more. :)

  12. Nice to see his kindness goes back years. :)

  13. Gary Senise was the answer to another Kindness reveal in either July or the January before (I think it was about playing in a charity event despite injuries or SOMETHING to that effect)

    1. Thanks... I thought I was going crazy having heard this exact blind before. You're on about the prior kindness reveal... Sinister is just amazing!!

  14. Awesome. Just awesome, Lt. Dan!

  15. He's such a classy guy. Doing these things quietly without a lot of fanfare. He does lots of things for the military boys, he truly has a good heart.

Merry Christmas, or your holiday greeting of choice to all of you. I agree with Merlin, this place is wonderful to come to, only because of all of you.

Enty, thanks for giving us a place to meet and laugh and ponder.

  16. How does that work, I wonder? Just set up the rerouting of the money like any other direct deposit from your paycheck?

    ReplyDelete
  17. This makes me like him all the more. It's one thing to just hand out checks to charities but it's another to really get involved. There was another blind that was revealed to be him. He helped a vet outfit his house with ramps & other things.

It's nice to see that some people really put their money where their mouth is & actually help out those less fortunate than themselves. Especially when they don't do it for the publicity.

  18. I knew it! He was robbed of the Oscar for Forrest Gump. Great actor, great human being. If he wasn't Republican, he'd be perfect!!

  19. Yes! I luv me some Gary! I just wish more of Hollyweird did the same.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I wish more people who had the means to do this, did it.

  21. Probably the most consistently nice, good person you write about Enty. Always refreshing to see a Gary Sinise post.

  22. I love kind people. This brought a smile to my face.

  23. He's so awesome!

  24. This dude is A++ in my book all the way! And he does it all without PRing it e'erywhere!
Thanks Enty! I needed a kindness today!

  25. I work for the USO, and I have personally met him several times. He is truly one of the most genuine and giving men out there.

  26. OY! I finally found the Kindness Reveal for Gary :)

  27. Yay! This is a good kindness reveal.

  28. Love having a kindness reveal. It restores my faith in humanity to know that he is so generous. Sometimes people know when they have enough and sharing feels better than buying a brand new toy for themselves.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Loved him in 'mission to mars'.

  30. every once in awhile one Hollywood player turns out not to be an asshole

    ReplyDelete
  31. I love him!
A cherished member of my family is a Wounded Warrior spokesperson and Sinise is one of the (very) few actors he respects.
Gary is someone who certainly puts his money where his mouth (and heart) is.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I think it's awesome that he does that. BUT why wait so long to reveal a truly nice, generous person?

    ReplyDelete
  33. What a wonderful thing to do. Always liked the man, little bit in love with him now.

    ReplyDelete
  34. <3

    He is just amazing.

  35. Oh, yes. Much love and good wishes for Gary Sinise. It's nice to hear about a good guy!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Gary Sinise is one of the few Republicans I truly like. He should be sainted.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Aw! Lieutenant Dan!!!

    ReplyDelete
  38. This guy is really a class act and a great actor

    ReplyDelete
  39. Gotta luv a Mid-western guy!!

    ReplyDelete
  40. Love Gary Sinise. What a lovely chap.

  41. Gary Sinise is awesome, and he's easy on the eyes, too; his wife is a lucky woman!

Happy holidays to the CDaN family. Love you all! <3

  42. Wonderful person. If everyone who could do this, did this once in a while there would be less want in the world.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I don't doubt the kindness of what he does for veterans, but he is not a nice person if he doesn't feel like you deserve it. He reneged on playing a vets benefit because they wouldn't pay his band enough, when he had already agreed to play. He also treated my husband like crap when he was a guest on the show my husband used to produce. As in wouldn't even respond when spoken to on the phone and then just hung up without a word because he wouldn't wait for the host.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Yay, Lt. Dan! Nice to have a good thing revealed about an actor. I love him on CSI New York. I do get his and Gary Okdman's names confused until I look at their faces, or think of their movies/TV shows. A couple of actors I do that to.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Kloie, since all the money Gary makes with the band is given to veterans benefits, that doesn't make any sense. That's how he funds many of his projects. There has to be a much bigger story.

As for his treatment of your husband, we don't know Gary's side of the story. I may have avoided him, too.

Lieutenant Dayan, you're an Angel. He just went up to A List in my book. I hope he gets lots more offers for big roles and higher pay checks, for him and the good work he does, plus he's so talented, the world needs more people like this. What an inspirational reveal, good job Enty.

    ReplyDelete
  47. My husband was the producer. All he had to do was say hello and connect him to the host. I'd think a little common courtesy would be in order when someone says "hi, how are you, please hold for XX."

    ReplyDelete
  48. @Kloie

Well, it certainly sounds as if there are two sides to him....

    ReplyDelete
  49. My dad went to school w him and he took my aunt to prom. They have had nothing but nice things to say about him.
