What hit cable show had a story line this season which was basically a fictionalized version of the affair that had been carried on behind the scenes by a B-/C+ list actress on the show and the director.
Boardwalk would be my guess. Kelly Macdonald was pregnant in real life this past season, so even though Mrs. Schroeder was having an affair, I am inclined not to think it was her & Charlie Cox (Owen Sleter) was just an actor on the show, not a director. The actress who played Billie Kent is no way considered B-/C+...so I am thinking could it be Gretchen Mol? The other options would be Julianne Nicholson but she was in 2 episodes, Richard Harrow's girlfriend who isn't a name and can't be at B-/C+ level. Another thought, though not an "affair" on the show...it could be Walking Dead with the relationship between Andrea and the Governor. Could be the RL affair could be the actresses that either play Lori or Andrea (I would say Maggie, Beth and Michonne are not household names yet).
i don't get this BI, period! unless the affair on the show is about the same dynamic as the RL affair, how is it the same thing?? was the affair on the show about an actress having an affair with her director??? if not, it's just an affair. right?
Maybe I'm saying this because I don't have a clue where to start guessing, but how is it a big deal if an actress has an affair with her director? Isn't that about as newsworthy as Rita Ora sleeping with people other than Rob Kardashian while trying to make a singing career?
@nancer - acting talent is completely unrelated to whether someone is a, b or z list. It is all about name recognition and if they can open a movie/tv show by themselves (and bring out the fans). I don't know Kelly MacDonald, so she isn't higher than b- list
In Boardwalk Empire Mrs. Shroeder was having an affair with someone who worked for her husband. Does that mean the actress is having an affair with the director, who works for her husband?
Or, is the director the husband who is being cheated on?
Re: The Walking Dead. I don't know if this is relevant, but Laurie Holden has been in two projects of Frank Darabont's: The Walking Dead and The Mist. I don't know if they're in a relationship or not, or if they had an affair or not. Just putting it out there.
Ha, Eve! I always thought it was weird how she went from being Covarrubias on the X-Files to co-starring in a Jim Carrey movie(The Majestic, which Darabont also directed).
But, there was a 'scandal' at my school when I was in high school. There was a married couple at the high school teaching. The wife was transferred to the middle school one year, (I think I was in 10th grade). She cheated on the husband (one of my class' favorite teachers) with another teacher at the middle school. Someone at the middle school saw them holding hands and told someone else and it spread all through the high school. He kicked her out of their house and asked for a divorce. She broke up with the other guy and begged for the husband back.
He said yes and took her back. She cheated on him again and again, he found out at school. Everyone was and always will be on his side because she is a ho. And because he is a fun teacher.
American Horror Story?

ReplyDeleteHomeland. Brody & Carrie had to rekindle their affair for "work."
ReplyDeleteWhat about Californication? Where he was having an affair with the gangster rapper/actor's girlfriend?

ReplyDeleteIngrid, forgot about The Majestic! So, are she and Darabont a couple? Maybe they are.
ReplyDeleteI have no idea.
