Blind Item #1

The A+ list couple with the daughter who has special needs has been shipped to a private school because the mom "just does not have time to deal with something like that." Way too busy making movies.

  1. Nic & Keith?

Don't (Sunday) Roast me. It's the first couple I thought of whose kids we almost never see.

  2. Ahhhhahahaha! That was perfect, lib.

  3. Isn't one of the Brangelina twins rumored to be special needs?

    ReplyDelete
  4. Brad & Angie, with Vivienne being the child

    ReplyDelete
  5. @Montana, I thought that rumor came about because Knox "looked" Downs syndrome in a picture. I have never heard any evidence of this, and the child in this blind is a girl. Brangelina's girl twin, Vivienne, has appeared in one of her mother's movies, which would not seem to fit the blind.

    ReplyDelete
  6. I don't think it's Vivienne only because she filmed a part in a movie as Elle Fanning's younger self. It would make no sense to me to ship off a kid so no one sees her and then also put her in a film, but that's just me.

  7. @libby I think you've got it! Nicole is in the DM today; Brange is not

  8. Has Faith, Nicole and Keith's second daughter, ever been seen publicly?

    ReplyDelete

    1. Nicole's daughter Faith was seen out pretty regularly for a while recently, BUT it was actually right after some blind items widely attributed to Nicole as being a cruel mother who had a child with developmental delays that rarely spent time with the delayed child, preferring to be photographed with the "normal" child.

  9. Hey libby , Sunday Roast happens to be in the DM today but no photos of child #2.

A child with special needs doesn't necessarily look different - I'm going with bubble - Vivienne.

Correcting for grammar and sexism: This A+ list couple has a daughter with special needs who has been shipped to a private school because the parents "just do not have time to deal with something like that." Way too busy making movies.

  13. But Nicole's kids aren't old enough for school. Especially the youngest.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Maybe the mom is the one who said it, but I agree- BOTH parents are responsible.

I'll go with Angie and Brad.

I don't see Brad and Angie being the type. And her kids are out and about, seen and pap'd all the time. Who this would make sense for is Nicole Kidman, isn't she the favorite for "Ice Queen"? I guess Nicole and Keith Urban.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Special needs kids ...need a lot of attention, everything must be reinforced daily and routine is vital.
And I for one think Knox has a far away look, as if he's really not there....but with the number of nannies Brad & Angie have the kids surly get all the attention they need...

I don't really think it's Brad and Angie, but if it is, maybe one of the older girls? Vivi is only four, right? Pretty young for a special needs boarding school.

Also, to be fair, this child may very serious problems- violence, starting fires- that make sending him or her away the only option. If the mother really cant be bothered, she may be doing the child a favor in the long run.

  32. Frenchgirl, I think you're confusing 'special needs' with 'gifted education.' Violet Affleck is in special programs for gifted children, not special needs.

"Gifted" is when you're MORE functional & smart for your age, not less.

(If anyone has a better word than gifted, help me out. I'm trying to advise Frenchgirl, and I can't even speak my own language!)

  36. This blind makes me sick. And it makes me sick how we are all sitting here throwing around accusations about children and how we think all of these kids must be special needs. It's insulting and I find it to be in poor taste.

Everyone puts up a fuss about a blind they feel has crossed their line, and this is my blind.

Children with special needs are very close to my heart, and again, I find it extremely insulting and degrading that we are throwing around kids names so casually, simply because they look happy in pictures or someone decided their face looked like they were a special needs child.

Once again, everyone has a line. Mine is different than yours, but this is mine and I refuse to cross it.

Maybe if Nancy Lanza had sent Adam to a school he could of learned to deal with his issues not hide him in the basement so he can obsess on violent video games for years. Wishful thinking things would of turned out different.

I say the kid will be better off in the long run.

    Not Brange.

  41. The "special needs" Heigle make comments about for her oldest was the need for a PDA repair ("hole in heart") that was done and healed before Heigl even adopted her. The surgery is now extremely common due to the increase in premies over the years and the kids really aren't considered special needs unless they have other significant cardiac issues (or other significant ailments of prematurity) as well.

That said, since Nayleigh seems to be absent since they adopted their second child, I thought Heigl was the answer to the blind where the mom ignores/berates the older child except the rare time she's in public with her and the second child the is overtly favorited.

I agree with you about this. What a terrible thing to read about oneself when grown up.

  44. I keep mixing up the two blinds! I hope they are the same family bc I'd hate for there to be more.
Anyways, on the other blind it says something about the # of children is a dead giveaway and both parents are A list forever.
I'm thinking the # of kids being a giveaway must mean they have a lot, like 4+ bc that's unusual. Then I wanted to add that it's hard to drag all 4+ kids out especially when you have nannies at home. My sister has 8 kids and I've spent weeks with them. You say who wants to go to Target? Some want to play video games, some have homework, some love going out with mommie, it's rare and a HASSLE to take all the kids so my sis n her husband split them up to make it easier.

  49. @jsierra and @tuxedocat, I don't think there's any reason to be ashamed of having a special needs child, and therefore this crosses no lines for me. We all have unique needs, and manyf people who might have been termed 'special needs' have contributed a lot to humanity. I think it's shameful when special needs kids DON'T get the treatment they need and that their families can afford, ie Jett Travolta.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Jsierra-I too have much love for kids with special needs and their parents. I hate these blinds too. Kids can "look" like they have special needs, or they may not. Regardless, they deserve love, respect, and a fair chance at life. I can only hope that parents who have that much money will do right by their children, with or without special needs.

  51. @Nutty_Flavor

I'm not sure why you thought I would be embarrassed of talking about special needs children....

  52. I can understand putting a child in a school to get the support they need but not the attutude that a child is something that one could be too busy to be bothered with. That is heartbreaking. :(

  53. Don't think it's the Urbans, they're too young for "school" and I know someone who has been in some sort of mommy and me preschool age music classes with Keith and Sunday.

  54. I think this child is lucky that it got sent to school. Everyone has had different life experiences which makes all of us have different opinions. I have always been extremely smart and pick up things easily. My brother has always been trouble. He has also always been the one doted upon. Grand dad gave him an antique banjo and guitar that that were in his basement along with my father's cornet and bugle. My brother has never played a note in his life. I play banjo, guitar, cornet, and bugle... among others. I have a million examples, but the bottom line is I wish my family had sent me to boarding school where my brain and talents could have been nurtured instead of put down. I wish that kid the best.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Anonymous10:16 AM

By the way, Sunday is the one that's out in the pictures. The youngest one Faith is rarely seen. And by private school they may mean boarding/nanny/institution.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Why not hire the best special education teachers? I don't think i could bear to be away from my children but if i had the money...hire a nanny to help and a special education teacher and adapt their home life and schedule so that they could thrive and be happy.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Anonymous10:38 AM

Kidman can't be bothered with adapting her schedule to be home for a special needs child. She's been too busy making flop after flop of movies. This past year she's had Hemingway and Gelhorn, the Paperboy. Stoker, The Railway Man, and now Grace of Monaco. Quite a full schedule but none of those movies are successful.

    ReplyDelete
  60. There are boarding schools for special needs children that board and teach very young children.
For example I live near a school for children who are deaf; there are children as young as three that live there.

  64. @Nutty I said absolutely nothing about being ashamed of having a special needs child, neither did @Tuxedo. I am not entirely sure how you came to that conclusion either.

What I don't like is when people say that a child must be special needs because they look different or like what you believe a special needs child would look like.

What I also don't like is when people twist my comments to fit their agenda. Perhaps you should reread before you accuse @Tuxedo and I of being ashamed of special needs children, insinuating that they contribute nothing to society, and somehow also implying that we don't think special needs children need any type of outside help or care.

For someone who is a long time poster like Tuxedo and myself, I would have figured you would know us well enough by now to realize that we would never say the things you accused us of saying.

  65. Catherine Zeta Jones and Michael Douglas. I could have swore I read somewhere that MD said his daughter had an issue....

    ReplyDelete
  66. @Alma my personal opinion is that there is a difference between reading about your dad and his cult activities and reading about how there were massive blog discussions about how you look like someone with special needs when you were a young child.

Not only online discussions, but major magazines have cover stories about how Knox looks like he may have downs, or Pax may have behavioral issues. I feel it is the same as outing someone or releasing personal medical info.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Just to suggest another couple (I think - Ctrl-F isn't getting hits):

Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas. They have stated that their oldest son has special needs and they moved to NY because the education system in the Bahamas couldn't cope. Which suggests more than the "dyslexia" they explained it as. The son would be about 12 now.

Enty may be fudging the gender of the child. CZJ has a busy schedule per IMDB; she's been public about being bi-polar, we all know he's been recovering from cancer.

Whoever it is, I don't judge them. It's not the sole responsibility of the mother, Enty, but sometimes both parents cannot cope with a disturbed (for lack of a better word) child. It must be heartbreaking for these parents, whoever they are.

    1. It is ignorant to assume everyone celebrates Christmas.

    2. It is also insulting to plead that everyone cater to your your opinions because of your belief system/holiday.

    3. Shouldn't you be in church rather than cheapening your holiday by posting on a gossip site?

    ReplyDelete
  70. Also no shame in having a special needs kid and admitting you need help.

    ReplyDelete
  71. @Helen

    1. I never said I assumed that everyone celebrates Christmas. It is ignorant to assume that that is what I meant.

    2. I didn't "plead that everyone cater to my opinions because of my belief system/holiday". I simply said that I don't mind what people say to me during the Holidays and perhaps people should not get so offended when someone uses the wrong Holiday greeting.

    3. Pot calling the kettle black much? Maybe you should be in church rather then cheapening your holiday by trolling gossip sites and making uncalled for snarky comments towards others. Since you obviously were so taken with my post I am quite surprised you missed the part where I said that I was not religious.

Not to mention, a typical church service lasts anywhere from 1-3 hours which, even if I were to go to mass today, still leaves me with plenty of time to check up on some gossip. However, I really appreciate your concern for my religious well being and your concern that I may not be enjoying my holiday to it's fullest extent. I appreciate it! We have a very loving community on here and I am glad that you finally felt compelled to join us with your positive thoughts and input.

BTW you posted on the wrong thread. You may want to double check what you are commenting on before you try to tear me down with your assumptions.

  74. @Helen I thought you were referring to my post on the Your Turn thread.

However I still stand by everything that I said. You were deliberately trying to stir the pot and start shit on what a majority of the nation considers a holiday. I find nothing wrong with my plea to not discuss such a disturbing issue on what is supposed to be a joyous and happy day. Especially when everyone is so deeply affected by what happened in Newtown. Not the time, or place.

  77. No idea as to this, but going back to the discussion within this thread about "gifted" children, until last year I'd lived in Singapore for 8 years, where they have a Gifted Education Programme (GEP) for bright students.

Except half of them aren't that gifted, it's just an excuse to put them into more hours of schooling as a pseudo child-minding service for over-worked parents. Education being a life-long course, etc. etc.

Wishing all readers Happy Holidays, and thoughts also to those who, for whatever reason, this isn't a good time of year.

  78. Wild guess: Salma Hayek? She seems bitchy (thought she was nice till I say her on the Graham Norton Show- ARROGANT!). And her guy paid off Linda Evangelista so he didn't have to look after it. He seems like a jackass too, he would agree to this.

And tbh, I don't see any love between them, more like an agreement: Salma can live large and he gets to touch her big boobies.

Their kid looks pretty normal though.. Not that problems are always visible.

    ReplyDelete
  79. @Gypsytrill : Nope, she still has him and she looks in love with him. I love CT, maybe my judgment is clouded xD
She also has her mom to help take care of him, so doubt working too much would be an issue; she is like a perma-babysitter xD

  81. Why are some people here such assholes? Also, unless someone has a disability like Down's Syndrome, you usually cannot tell something is wrong.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Why so serious?

Cripes man, it's just the internet.

I don't think it's Kidman. I think Keith has simply learned his lesson about keeping private things private and doesn't go out of his way to flaunt his children (no idea about the influence he has over Nicole with that, but having lived in Nashville and worked closely with his people, that's the vibe I get about the guy)

Agree with those who say the child is most likely better off. At least she is around people with patience and the skills to help her with her education and life in general.

    Merry Christmas all!

  89. "find it extremely insulting and degrading that we are throwing around kids names so casually, simply because they look happy in pictures or someone decided their face looked like they were a special needs child." because there is something shameful or degrading about being thought to be special needs?

if you are deaf, and lucky, you get to go to a school for the deaf. you live there. its hard to get into and when your child ges in, and you can afford it, you thank your lucky stars.

just because these parents made a choice different than what you THINK you might make in the same situation, its not necessarily a bad choice. only the parents know what their child needs. if they aren't up to providing the best for their child, why would they hesitate to try and get it for the child somewhere else?

these schools exist for a reason; there's a need.

    ReplyDelete
  90. @Me, what I got from this blind was that the child was sent to a special school because it was considered a burden. The parents would rather focus on their jobs then their child.

@Unknown, a few months back, someone commented on the armpit picture. The person seemed beyond disgusted, and made it a point to let everyone know that the picture made her sick. It was hilarious how appalled the person was. I guess to show solidarity, a bunch of people put up pictures of armpits, or people sniffing one, for their avi.

  93. @ME there is absolutely nothing wrong with children with special needs, two of my brothers have special needs and I would be quite the cold hearted bitch if I was ashamed of them, would I not? What I think is degrading is labeling someone as a special needs child because of a facial expression they made, an odd camera angle, etc. None of those things mean anything other then exactly that, unfortunate photos. Insinuating something that serious and that personal simply because a child doesn't look how you think they should look is degrading. And ignorant.

Maybe I should have worded my response differently because everyone is chewing my ass today.

Although I would have figured that anyone actually reading my entire comment and not only what they want, would have realized that never once did I insinuate that having a special needs child or having special needs yourself is shameful. If I did actually think that, I would have said it. Obviously I have no problem expressing my opinion on this blog.

I really enjoyed the thread the other day where everyone shared holiday recipes, we definitely need to do a leftovers version after Christmas because I have zero cooking talent and *crosses fingers* leftovers. I could definitely use some expert chef advice.

    I do apologize to all if my snark got a little too snarky, especially on a day like today where many are celebrating the ones they love, regardless of religious affiliation, and a day that is supposed to be filled with happiness and content. I said it before, but due to my biotchy attitude today I will say it again;

I hope everyone enjoys their holiday season, however they choose to spend it, and I hope that it is filled with happiness and love. The same ingredients the holidays are made of!!

  101. @jsierra, sounds like you have exactly the right perspective here, I got what you were saying earlier (now that it is midnight and I have a chance to read all the days posts). Hope you have a very merry Christmas!

  103. Oh, FFS!

It was the first-ever reader photo on CDAN. I've never changed it.

    2. In the pic even her own nose is red from the stench, but at least the red nose puts one in the mind of Rudolph the red nose reindeer for Christmas. LOL

  105. It's hard to judge with so little information. We don't even know what sort of special needs this child is dealing with.

  106. Katsm - Yep, AdBlock is great for that stuff. There's a lot of Flash video online that auto-plays -- they're not ads, but still annoying. I set my Flash preferences' local storage* to disallow websites from storing any data, which means in theory they shouldn't play. Sometimes they do, though, and that's when I Block 'em!

    * Local Storage
    Right-click on an offending video
    Choose Settings
Choose the Folder icon - Local Storage
Slide the thing to the left, Zero kb
It should block others from the same site

  107. Robin Thicke and Paula Ptton have a special needs child they totally ignore. They also swore off children after this one...
