Blind Item #1
This barely hanging on to B- list mostly movie actress with one really bad foray into television and beginning to age says that she never wears clothes at home with her toddler because she feels that clothes restrict the ability to interact with your children properly. Always naked, although she says that the toddler wears clothes sometimes because she does not want the toddler to catch a cold and is not potty trained. Soo, yeah.
Alicia Silverstone? Idk. Since she does some other weird shit with her kid. I don't really think being naked around a toddler is that strange, though. Toddlers don't know wtf's going on.
ReplyDeleteSelma Blair? That Kath and Kim show was really awful...
ReplyDeleteAlicia was the only one I could think of outside of Heather Grahm and I don't think she has kids.
ReplyDeleteI like Alicia for this.
ReplyDeleteHaha my thought was Alicia too!!!!
ReplyDeleteI still love her though, even if she is a really weird human.
Yeah, sounds like Alicia. Wtf happened to her? And she's only 35, so I wouldn't exactly call her ageing...
ReplyDeleteI don't and wouldn't do this, but it isn't sexual and there is nothing wrong with teaching kids to be comfortable about their bodies.
ReplyDelete@Cathy - I second Selma Blair. She's in the DM today; Silverstone is not
ReplyDeleteGuess I'm too much of a sweater, because all I can think about is all the skin sticking to skin that would occur in this scenario.
ReplyDeleteSelma Blair sounds better than Alicia on this one. But we loved Kath and Kim!
I thought Katherine Heigl with 'bad' referring to how
ReplyDeleteher time on GA ended, but she has more than one child.
So exactly when is she planning on starting to wear clothes around her child? When they're 4? 6? 10? This just makes me feel kind of creepy.
ReplyDeleteWhoa, just checked DMC and the pics of Selma Blair are WEIRD.

What is weird about being naked in front of a toddler? Why are we so effed about our bodies? I don't see anything wrong with this, frankly, except the extent to which it is done, as in never wears clothes. My toddler certainly saw me naked all the time. He was also quite the naked child, loved not wearing clothes. I stopped when I started to feel weird about it, since he is male, I don't remember what age.
ReplyDeleteHey, Selma was actually on TV twice:
ReplyDelete- first on Zoe(, Duncan, Jack and Jane)
- then on Kath & Kim
And I remember watching the Dana Carvey Show, with a sketch about a dating show where the male contestant turns out to be Unabomber (played by Stephen Colbert, if I'm right). She was an extra on that sketch.
Not sure what the problem with this is...we are conditioned to be 'omg, someone could see my naked self'...gasp! I wouldn't feel comfy doing it, but I'm one of the conditioned ones. Good for her!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Cathy: Selma Blair with Kath & Kim being the bad foray into TV.
ReplyDeleteI don't think there's anything necessarily wrong with being naked around your toddler, however, when it's SOP it seems a bit odd. I'm not sure how clothes would restrict my ability to interact with anyone other than when we're trying to do the nasty, though?
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like Silverstone to me.
How about "OMG, I don't WANT to see your naked self." In addition, I'm all about nurturing a healthy view of a child's body and sexuality, but seeing mom's bits hanging out is not the solution.
ReplyDeleteSelma Blair's on Anger Management with Charlie Sheen is she not? so can't be her.
ReplyDeleteThat's what I thought too.
DeleteI agree that it isn't too weird - after all, a big part of potty training for most kids is taking them into the bathroom with you when you go. It does bring up the possibility for awkwardness though - I dated a guy whose younger sister announced loudly in the middle of church that "mommy has a hairy vagina" during her potty training days..
ReplyDeletelol!!! @ Amber and Michelle.
ReplyDeleteAlicia Silverstone? i was at school with a kid who had nudist parents and it was very funny
ReplyDelete@French Girl - what did he say about it? How do you explain that to your friends? lol
ReplyDeletewow, 35 is 'beginning to age????'
ReplyDelete@Cathy, that is exactly what I would worry about, exposing kids to TMI too soon. It's laughable while watching children make these comments on movies, like "Kindergarten Cop,"but having kids discuss mom's va-jay, jay in public, not so much.
ReplyDelete@Amber:
ReplyDeletewhen he was sick,i went to give his lessons at his home. His parents were only nude at their homes(they were not sexually obsessed :they just liked to be at ease)
His mum was charming, she wore a silk robe when i was there. They're not modest and had many stories about some scalds or the mailman.
Imagine a nude dad watching tv on the sofa with the cat on his knees LOL
@Amber:
ReplyDeleteFTN:his mum called my mum to explain it and to say not to be worried
They were charming and nice (they were also the first "different" personsthat i met)
My mom was naked around me all the time. It was just me & her and I'm a girl so I didn't see anything wrong with it. She really didn't start wearing clothes around the house until she got remarried. I don't see anything creepy about it, maybe because we were the same sex.
ReplyDeletenothing wrong with being naked around your kid...but why/how do clothes restrict you from properly interacting with your child?
ReplyDeletewhat the fcuk are you doing..exactly?
Alicia Silverstone did have "Miss Match" which got canceled, but she was just on "Suburgatory" for a stint, & that show does well so wouldn't that wipe her TV slate clean? I wouldn't think of her as having "one really bad foray."
ReplyDeleteShe did a terrible reboot of Poison Ivy or something Lolita-esque in the 90's with Cary Elwes (Wesley from Princess Bride) and I thought it was made for TV... Not sure.
DeleteSpeaking of Dana Carvey (@7:49), this celebrity needs a talk with the Church Lady. "We like ourselves, don't we?" No, there's nothing wrong with nudity but there is something wrong with thinking that nudity is required in order to "interact properly with children." No, just no.
ReplyDeleteIf nudity really is no big deal then don't make it a big deal!
It's all good until you are shaking a baby bottle and glance out the window to see your neighbor right on the opposite side of the fence driving his tractor and waving at you. Then you learn that everyone needs to wear clothes. Or when your toddler reaches up and pinches your nipple. Somethings need to be covered. I don't care how "natural" you think things should be. o your kids go to preschool and tell their teacher about mommy cooking with no clothes on
ReplyDeleteSelma or Alicia are good guesses for this.
