Angelina Jolie is Giving Up Acting Again

It is that time of the year again. The time of the year where Angelina Jolie or Brad Oitt sits down in an interview and says they are quitting acting. They are never sure at what point they are quitting. They give vague answers so they cannot be pinned down later. In an interview with Channel 4 in England, Angelina says she will probably quit by the time her kids hit their teen years and just focus on directing. You know, the part of making a movie which does not allow you to be in front of the camera and adored by millions. Angelina did it once and she might do it again, but last time she said she was quitting acting she worked in back to back to back movies. I think sometimes Brad and Angelina just like to hear themselves talk. I think it is why that Brad Pitt Chanel commercial is so good. It is the way I imagine them talking to each other.

  2. I wish, but it's not going to happen. As long as she gets a big payday she will continue...and then when it tappers she'll say I told you I was going to give it up...

  3. Oh, i think they mean to, but then good role comes along, or they want to save small village somewhere and boom back to work they go. Prob they say this in reply to question about it. Anyway, i dont really care: i wish them well, dont care if they retire or not.

  7. She was just awful in "The Tourist". The pot of the movie was about how beautiful she was. Everyone in the movie would tell her and she would do her affected smile and gestures. I took my earphones out after 10 minutes. Then Johnny Depp came back on the screen and I put them back in and watched the whole thing. The things you'll do to get through a plane ride.

  9. When you've reached the pinnacle of acting - The Tourist and for Brad, Killing them Softly, there is nothing more to achieve. People have seen your best work and it's important to go out on a high note.

    1. I love them too. It dosent get any better then ang n brad. I dont care wht anybody says the way this two donate to charity n truly want to give back to the less fortunate is truly admirable. You dont see any other celebrity power couple doing that.

  13. I would assume that the talk of retiring is meant to cover them for that inevitable time when they just aren't getting the jobs anymore. But really, who cares? I like 'em both. Acting, directing, producing or saving the world; they're okay by me!

  14. Am I the only one tired of hearing about Brad and Angelina(and Jennifer Aniston!) all the time(and about their "wedding"- if it ever even happens, that is!)it's getting pretty old.

  15. Lotta, you must see the Tourist. It was made to be a drinking game. Every time Jolie enters a room, does the Vogue, and the cast stares adoringly at her - drink. Every time the camera zooms in on her lips made ghoulish by a pound of dark red lipstick - drink. And every time you catch a glimpse of Johnny Depp looking like he wants to kill his agent - drink.

This game is only for the advanced who can handle that much alcohol but it is far more interesting than the plot, of which there hardly is one.

  16. @ Silly Girl, me too! (husky voice): " It's about the Journey... " Come ON. It's about the pretty boy aging and needing a quick check. Yep, I get the idea they like to hear themselves talk too, Enty and Maja with a J. It must be hard to breathe when you're in a room with them since their ego's take up all the oxygen. It seems that they believe their own press. I can imagine that they may want to get out of the game, but how can you when the paychecks are so huge? I would want to sock it away too. Brad's looks are going, and Angie isn't going to be far behind. Make that money while you can, it might not be forever that men want to watch you act with your lips and holding your mouth open, Ange. I like that she's supposedly tough, and that she does good in the world is wonderful and I think accounts for alot of her goodwill, but the lip acting? Please. It's fine with me if she stops acting. It's painful to watch her try to act. "I"m unbearably hot, and can't stand my own hotness but I'm a serious ACTRESS (pout twitching)" She got an oscar for playing an unstable self mutilating goth girl, how is that acting for her? Isn't that pretty much what she has admitted that she was during that stage of her life? I'm sorry, I just think that alot of times when new/unknown actors get oscars for their first big role it's because it was so close to how they are naturally that they nail it better than they ever do anything else ever again. Cuba Gooding Jr., Angelina Jolie, Marisa Tomei, Tatum O'Neil, just sayin'.

    1. @Karma Chameleon, that is spot on. For the past dozen or so years, her "acting" has consisted of posing - so cheesy. I'm suprised she didn't lobby to be Catwoman. Some people eat that shit up with a spoon though, it takes all kinds to make the world go 'round.

  17. Cuba Gooding Jr., Angelina Jolie, Marisa Tomei, Tatum O'Neil:

Nice list for on the fly and spot on.

I will say I'm rarely bored by Marisa Tomei but an Oscar? Yeah, that was weird.

  18. I guess I'm the only one who liked The Tourist? Dunno, thought it was fun, even tho she annoys me to no end in general.

  19. Many people would like to have the opportunities that these two knuckleheads have had, so if they are that "bored" with acting then go do something else, instead of just talking about it. People quit their jobs everyday and don't announce it to the world. Go build houses or statues of yourselves on a faraway island.

  20. So Angelina is seeing some guy named Brad Oitt on the side? Shenanigans!

  21. That's nice. I quit watching her acting years ago, so now we are even

i used to love them SO MUCH and as the years passed that whole anti hollywood personas became faker than being a fake in hollywood. full of themselves. They use to be so damn cool

  24. Well, if they are really bored they could always switch jobs with me:)

  25. I liked the Lara Croft movies.
The only thing left for them to do is get married, and have Brad shower and get a haircut. Either would make headlines. Oh, and Angie could gain twenty pounds.

  26. Actually, think about it. With Angie's pout-acting, she would make a perfect Cat Woman.

  27. Gawd that dress looks hiddy....ridiculous boobies!!

  28. Has she ever been in a good movie? Her 'acting' is horrible.

  29. The Toursist is up there with Showgirls for a "so bad it's good" movie. It was like Jolie and Depp were in two different movies. Jolie's make-up was so thick, it looked like she used a trowel to put it on. Depp looked bloated and lost. He acted as if his movie was filming down the hall, and he wondered onto the wrong set. They didn't even talk to each other, but at each other. It is truly a bizarrely bad movie.

I love how Ricky Gervais was so kunty toward Jolie and depp, about the movie THE TOURIST during the Golden Globes....lol

  31. What's the point of retiring from acting when your kids are teens but you'll direct instead?

How does give her more time with the family?

    ReplyDelete
  32. I loved Ricky Gervais for calling out that BS. The Golden Globes never looked so lame as when they nominated The Tourist. They should have been humiliated.

  33. God damn it, you all are so great, thanks for the laughs!

  34. I dated Brad Oitt in high school. He was a tender and gentle lover.

  35. I am so sick of hearing about and seeing these people. Her movies lately have sucked anyways.

  36. I have always been a member of Team Aniston. I haven't watched any of Brad's or Angie's movies since they hooked up. I refuse to give my hard-earned money to either of these twits. As far as I'm concerned, they both retired years ago.

  37. Oh God I am soooooo over the St Angelina and Brad bit. They nauseate me. Perhaps the reason people think they are so charitable is because they publicize the hell out of everything they do. Celebrities with class keep it to themselves.

  38. Spot on with this post, Enty.
Comments made me pretty giggly as well.
