Adele Faces $1600 Fine For Failing To Register Her Baby
Adele is doing everything in her power to keep her new baby out of the spotlight or even light of day. She has gone so far as to not register the birth of her child because she does not want anyone to know the name. I bet she named the baby Rolling. The singer had 42 days to register her baby but has not done so and now faces a fine of up to $1600. Of course since she makes that in an hour, while she is sleeping, I doubt too much she is worried about the fine. I do wonder though how long she can go without her baby being seen. The baby was born in October and it is now December and the baby has not been outside yet. Adele has barely been outside.
Funny, the paparazzi aren't nearly as aggressive in the UK. I'm sure people are curious but I don't really care about seeing her baby, although I love her music.
ReplyDeletePoor girl, she only had a very brief time as a superstar before this, so I imagine she never got adjusted to the attention and maybe is being a bit over-protective. If I was her, I would gladly pay the 1600 and keep my privacy a bit longer.
ReplyDeleteGood for her! What's the rush, anyway? I think there's too much gov't interference in our lives as it is anyway.
ReplyDeleteHeck she probably spends that much in a month on eyeliner
ReplyDeleteI can understand not wanting your child to be photographed. I get that. But what is the harm in knowing the childs name? Am I being naive?
ReplyDeleteSo it's baby boy whatever....it has a last name just not a first...she had him in a hospital didn't she...?
ReplyDeleteThey need Adele to hurry up and register that baby, so they can tax the kid as soon as she learns how to stand. I agree with Pogue. Too much government interference.
ReplyDeleteMaybe postpartum depression? That is odd, but I can empathize with wanting to keep her private life, especially her child, private. It's eccentric, but then the most talented, most interesting and most creative folks usually are.
ReplyDeleteIs there a rule against going outside? Or at least being seen outside? Let her be and let her to her privacy.
ReplyDeleteIs her baby really that much in demand? Is the THAT big of a celebrity? There must be something here I'm not seeing, because this seems ridiculous to me. I love her music but I don't care if she had a baby, or what it looks like, or what she named it.
ReplyDeleteI think she would have a lot less attention focused on the baby if she would take him outside and let him be seen. She's only drawing attention to the fact he's hidden and creating more demand. Act normal and just go about your business. It's a baby. After the initial oohs and ahhs everyone would settle down.
ReplyDeleteThings are super hectic after you have a baby. The paperwork is way at the bottom of the list of concerns.
ReplyDeleteI love Adele for not playing the celebrity game. And for being beautifully, unapologetically curvy.
ReplyDeleteThere are plenty of celebrities, way bigger than Adele, who manage to conduct their life away from the paparazzi. I'm sure that they go out; she just doesn't issue a press release and call the photographers every time. I don't even know her last name and unless she names the kid Rolling In The Dough, it doesn't really matter to me.
ReplyDeleteAdele looks really cute in that picture. Usually I think she's too done up and dresses like a middle aged woman at a cocktail party. She looks very sweet and clean there.
ReplyDeleteAnd what is the big deal about the not registering the baby thing? She'll pay the fine and have privacy for a few more months hopefully. Good for her.
I think here in the States they make you fill out the birth certificate before you leave the hospital.
ReplyDeleteThat said there could be any number of reasons she hasn't been out, top among them that she values her privacy.
Nothing to see here in my opinion.
Adele can do what the hell she likes as far as I'm concerned.
ReplyDeleteI mean this in a good way, because she's fab!
ReplyDeleteMynerva -- LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your photo! :) Sound of Music was always a favorite, and now more so.
ReplyDeleteThanks Meg!!
ReplyDeleteI would say good for her as a protective mother but the effect of doing so may backfire and cause more poking and prodding by the Pap.
ReplyDeleteMaybe get the picture thing out of the way may just get the 15 minutes over with before the kid understands what's going on...
@sarah... why does everyone keep saying that the UK does not have as aggressive paparazzi?? that is where paparazzi were BORN. Remember Princess Di's death? how she was hounded by paparazzi? tabloids (rags) were vicious in the UK before they were even really thought of here.
ReplyDeleteSeems like it is feeding the curiosity to not register.
ReplyDeleteShe should name the kid something half-way normal and go on with a normal life and she can do whatever she wants. There are tons of celebrities who raise families without everything becoming a photo op. Adele is not seen out club hopping or living a crazy life so there is no reason to believe she will be driven to extreme measures to maintain a normal life. Making a mystery of it gives the tabloids something to speculate about.
f the gov... a fine for not registering the baby? please. >.<
ReplyDeleteMaybe she hasn't decided on the name yet. It took my sister a while before registring my nephew because she wasn't sure about his name.
ReplyDelete@ Jessie I'm not Princess Di or royal family buff but I think it was in France. I could be wrong though.

ReplyDeleteJessie, Paparazzi - An Italian word. Started from Italian photographers in the 50's who cruised the starlet and Hollywood filled coastline looking for actors, actresses and personalities and any scandalous picture to pursue and SELL the resulting pictures to the press from ANY country for a good price. The term Paparazzi covers photographers from all around the world who make a living from the trade. Diana was killed by a drunk driver who'd lost all sense from booze. Not by any scumbag paps who were following the car.
ReplyDeleteAdele and her partner aren't the first to forget to register their child, they won't be the last. This is a non-story.
Oh, and not all people in UK think Diana was such a saint as she made out, because I certainly don't and never did from the beginning.
