I'm not sure how a woman who has been charged with 106 counts of prostitution manages to keep custody of her son, but the father of the 7 year old has alleged in court papers that Alexis Wright, the Zumba hooker from Maine posed naked with their child and is seeking custody of the boy. Wright is currently free on bail and the police found the photo on the camera of Wright's partner in crime. That is crazy and sick. How come the police did not step in and do something and left it all to the father of the boy to do something? Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the photo but have not charged anyone yet.

ReplyDeleteI'm hanging onto my judgment here too. We have no idea what kind of pics they were or in what context. Family nudity is just not a big deal in our house. Now if the kid's naked too, then that creates a whole new set of concerns.
ReplyDeleteI'm on the fence too. It seems like everyone gets to see me. Which led to the discussion that we don't open the door to public restrooms while mommy has her pants down. I never thought that would even be an issue but it's not like you could tell a two year old and four year old to wander the store while you go. Plus then they pee and you don't have to make ten trips.

I was thinking the same as Krab. Are we talking sexually charged nude photos with her son, or artsy, illusionary nude photos? Some may object to a mother posing nude with her child, but if it's not in a sexual way it's not exactly the same thing.

ReplyDeleteI agree it all depends on the context of the photos--are they artsy? Does the family habitually run around naked like it's no big deal? Or are they definitely sexual in nature? If it's the latter, then definitely throw the book at her! Having consensual (albeit commercial) sex with other adults is one thing, but involving young children in it is something else entirely, and NOT OK at all.

ReplyDeleteUgh. On the fence, too. I really want to bash her, but I have to be fair...That being said, I have never posed nude with my son, AT ALL. I do have pics of him naked in the bath tub though, which I'm sure EVERY parent does!
ReplyDeleteSince it was photographed, age of the child, context and purpose of the photograph will be factors. In this case, I don't see there being any reason why a mother and her 7 year old son would be posing together in the nude; It's not like it's a pregnant mother posing with, say, her year old daughter with her arms around her mother's belly, y'know?

From the Daily News description, they are both nude with a sheet over the bottom half of her son and she is completely visible. It does not sound artsy to me and her manager (pimp) took the photos.

ReplyDeleteI don't have a problem with family nudity. Children don't sexualise nudity, I have had so many of my friends kids walk in on me in the bathroom, shower, toilet, only when they were very young. I didn't make a big deal of it, but it was awkward. They don't even remember doing it when they get older.

As much as I love my nudie time, it will unfortunately come to an end when my little one is a bit older, aside from breastfeeding her and any future babies.
My question would be How is she using this photo? Is it for professional use? If you are using your son to "hook" clients or use your son in being a pro then you need to go to jail..go straight yo jail( or hell) without passing GO.
