Today's Blind Items - He Lied
Several years ago, this B list all movie actor who has flirted with A list but has failed dramatically when given the chance to headline a movie, came out to his C+ list male co-star. he felt safe doing so because his co-star is also gay. Very good looking, but not that great of an actor. The two never hooked up because they just are not attracted to each other. The C list actor has got some kink to him and the B lister is still all new to everything and just likes things nice and simple. Anyway, the C lister told the B lister that he was going to come out, and that the B lister should do the same. He has kept saying this for years despite the fact that the C lister keeps finding new women to "date." He has told the B lister that he needs to keep dating women because he is afraid that his limited roles will completely dry up if he comes out but has told the B lister to not worry and that everything will be fine if the B lister comes out. The B lister has been unable to do much the past year because of all the turmoil of wanting to come out and keeps hoping the C lister will do what he promised and make it easier for the B lister.
Zac Efron
ReplyDeleteI have no idea who this could be, but I think it's funny that "b lister" is just "blister" with an extra space. I kept reading it as blister and it makes the blind much sillier.
ReplyDeleteTaylor and another dude from Twilight. Kellan Lutz maybe?
ReplyDeletefailed Dramatically makes me think of that drama Charlie St Cloud which Zac Efron headlined that did horrible
ReplyDeleteSounds like RPatz and Taylor L, but I just don't think Robert is gay. Bi, maybe, but not gay.
ReplyDeleteThe blind starts with "Several years ago" which makes me think it can't be Twilight actors. Although Taylor Lautner does kinda fit....

ReplyDeleteI immediately thought of Jake, even tho I'm still not convinced he's gay, maybe bi. He failed as the star of that big budget mythic movie, can't remember the name.
ReplyDeleteDaniel Radcliffe and Jamie Campbell Bower?
ReplyDeleteFrodo and Shia
ReplyDeleteI immediately thought of Jake too.
ReplyDeleteJake G., the film is Prince of Persia. But who's the co-star?
ReplyDeleteMaybe start at the good-looking. not so great actor who came out in the past few years...all I have is Matt Bomer. I've only seen him in Magic Mike, so not sure how talented he really is. But he is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteNo clue, but I hope whoever these guys are can find support from someone like NPH, Ellen, Matt Bomer, etc.
ReplyDelete@January girl - neither of the actors in this blind have come out yet.
ReplyDelete@January - Matt Bomer is out. Not in a "trumpets and fanfare and confetti everywhere I'm coming out of the closet" way, he's just always sort of lived his life with his man and their kiddos. I think it's awesome.
ReplyDelete"Very good looking, but not that great of an actor."
ReplyDeleteALL OF THEM.
Sounds like the Prince of Persia to me.
ReplyDeleteBradley Cooper for the B list (failed movie: Limitless) and ken Jeong for the kinky C lister. Though wiki says he has a wife named "Tran Ho" (aka my favorite name for a human everrrr).
ReplyDeleteDaniel Radcliffe is not gay. I know some people in the theater circle that say he is straight. He might have experimented a time or two but I'm told he is straight. I like the Zac Efron guess.
ReplyDelete@Januarygirl: I think Matt Bomer is beautiful too!
ReplyDeleteWhat was the name of the movie that was adapted by the cartoon. The car was silver with a red lightning bolt. It was a huge flop.
ReplyDeleteWOW I just googled Matt Bomer, my god. Gorgeous specimen of a man! I see that he's in Winter's Tale, didn't know they were doing that one of my top ten books.
ReplyDeleteAll of you who are just not discovering the hotness of Matt Bomer need to check out White Collar. Not that this blind is him, since both of the guys here are still in the closet.
ReplyDeleteMatt Bomer is a sight for sore eyes ...
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking Zac Efron for this. What's the big deal with coming out? It seems like being gay/coming out are blown out of proportion. Haven't pre election polls shown that more and more americans are ok with, supportve and have loved ones who are gay?
ReplyDelete@skimpymist speed racer?
ReplyDeleteyou got it!
DeleteSounds like Taylor Lautner and Kellan Lutz. It sounds like these two keep working together, which makes me think we are dealing with a movie series
ReplyDeleteZac Efron is far from "all movie." Way more than just random guest credits, even Enty wouldn't fudge that much.
ReplyDeleteIf we could justify Corbin Bleu being C+ list (no idea if he dates lots of women), then it could be him and Zac from the HSM movies...
ReplyDeleteOwen Wilson and ben stiller!!!!!!
ReplyDelete"Several years ago..." is very ambiguous. 5 years? 10? 20?
ReplyDeleteWith the high turnover and flightly public opinion of actors, the answers would change depending on what year this blind takes place in -- I'll guess that this is a situation that many an actor/actress has been in...
As for a guess, I am not sure. C-list with kink. B-list, good looking. Efron fits the clues for B, but not sure for C.
Or it could be someone from a decade or so ago...? or longer.
(can you tell I love riddles and puzzles? :D )
Thought it was going to be Jake, but it doesn't fit since he's still keeping busy these days and he's nearly always the leading man. Although, why would a C-list star ease a coming out for a B-lister? Wouldn't it affect their careers in completely different ways?
ReplyDeleteUmm I just wanna pipe up and say FUCK YES to Matt Boner. Bomer. It was a sad day for me when I found out he has a man, Sean Maher has a man, and they are not each other's men. Probably better for the planet, though, because a pairing as sexy as that would just explode everything.
ReplyDeleteToothy Tile!
ReplyDeleteNot Bradley Cooper - he started on Alias on TV, same goes for effron (High School Musical).
ReplyDeleteseveral years ago I randomly selected 10 from 2002 Steven Dorf was in a movie with Matt Dillion - called Dueces Wilds which Dorff was the headliner -
I'm guessing the guy that starred in speed racer. That movie was supposed to be his big break but flopped horribly.
ReplyDelete@CarmeliteLady It's "suspension of disbelief". If the audience doesn't have "s.o.d" then the movie doesn't make money (or as much as it could have). Movie making is a business... plain and simple and it's understandably difficult to "make believe" something the audience knows isn't true. I know I know... the whole "super power/dying arguement" by heart and I do have a very psychological answer to that thought but it's way too long...in short it's just different. It just has to stay under wraps. Trust me ...I used to work in the biz and they are out and proud in their "biz" circles (for the most part) but always advised to just keep it from the "movie goers" (officially) for what is considered in the biz a very logical reason and they get that reason...not out of shame or judgement AT ALL...it's for the "s.o.d" only. IMO..."the general public" is fine with the coming out but "the general public as movie goers" really do want to be in dark (subconsciencely or not) by and large because they want to believe what they are seeing. I do def know of some in the biz who are gay and believe me it makes a difference when I watch the final movie...not what I think of them, cuz I'm down with all of it, just watching love scenes is...well... not the same. And no, I'm not gonna out anybody but rest assured the num of gay ppl in the biz is far disproportionate to the genpop...it IS close to 50/50. Who knows maybe we'll all transcend this s.o.d. mindset someday and can watch and not get distracted but it's been part of the audience mindset since the first play was put on thousands of yrs ago and for now it's still the case. I do think it's not cool what this "c" lister did and I really don't understand his motivation.
ReplyDeleteOh nevermind about ZE, I'm on the Taylor/Kellan train.
ReplyDeleteI really don't think this is Jake Gyllenhaal. The films he has been in in the past (both supporting and lead actor) have done fairly well. By no means has he "failed dramatically." Just because he hasn't done a ton lately doesn't mean his past films were flops. He did that End of Watch, is doing a play now, and has 3 movies in pre- or post-production. I just don't get how Jakey G is all of a sudden a nobody just because he isn't exactly on our gossip radar as much anymore.
Oops, sorry...read that as the C-lister came out. I like the Lautner and Efron guesses for B-lister.
ReplyDeleteWhy does one need to wait for the other to come out? Live your life; come out if you want to come out, stay in if you want to stay in, but don't blame someone else for holding you back.
ReplyDeleteKen Jeong is not gay. Where did that come from?
ReplyDeleteAnyway, what about Taylor Kitsch for the B-lister? The bombs could be John Carter and Battleship.
I need to think about the C-lister, though.
But Jake G. headlined that Source Code movie, which did well. Jarhead didn't set the world on fire, but it was a success. He can reliably headline a movie, so I really don't think this is him. He hasn't spectacularly failed as a leading man at all.
ReplyDeleteGoing with my earlier post, maybe Chace Crawford for the C-lister. He and Taylor Kitsch were in The Covenant together.
ReplyDeleteBTW, if you haven't seen The Covenant, it is FULL of hot guys.
To recap:
ReplyDeleteB-lister: Taylor Kitsch
C-lister: Chace Crawford
Movie they worked together: The Covenant
B-lister's bombs: Battleship, John Carter, (The Savages?)
Taylor Kitsch has been in several tv series, notably Friday Night Lights.
ReplyDeleteThat's how I imagine Christian Grey - Matt Bomer.
ReplyDeleteI love the way everyone is commenting about the delectable mr bomer. he would be my ideal mr grey. in my dreams he is my mr. grey ~sigh.
ReplyDeleteOh, shoot. How did I miss the "all movie" part.
ReplyDeleteJohn Barrowman...out and married...women love him...(just an example)...(he plays Jack Harkness on Torchwood and in Dr. Who)....not buying that they need to stay in the closet...bullcrap...
ReplyDeleteI'm on the Taylor/Kellan train. It's fits better than any other pairing I can think of.
ReplyDeleteOrlando Bloom as the B-lister and Hayden Christensen as the C-lister? Movie is New York, I love you.
ReplyDeleteI can't remember any succesful movie Orlando has headlined, the only good things he did was Pirates/LotR, which he got a short A list status for.
Hayden barely does anything.

ReplyDeleteOh and the past year turmoil would be being married and having a kid for Orlando Bloom, kinda hard to come out now: no one will take him serious, because he has always been surrounded by gay rumors and he is married to a VS model with kid. People are gonna be mad he's been bearding and pretending to be a happy family.
ReplyDeleteThere were several rumors of the marriage breaking up, maybe because Orlando wanted to come out, but Miranda didn't want him too?
Oooh, I like the Taylor/Chase guess! It fits really well.
ReplyDeleteTaylor Kitsh was one of the main characters in Friday Night Lights for 5 seasons. That's definitely not no tv.
ReplyDelete*B = Tayor Lautner (which pains me although I can still have my fantasies)
ReplyDelete*C+ = Kellan Lutz
*Movie headlined by B but bombed = Abduction
*Co-star movie (for years) = Twilight series 2007-2012
Just chiming in for Matt Bomer - HELLS YES. i call him bone-me boner Bomer. just beautiful. beautiful family too, he is just pure class *sigh*
ReplyDeleteback to blind i read this as Jake G with prince of persia being the failed film. it seems like a sad blind to me.
Yea Lola beat me to it
ReplyDeleteThe first time I saw Matt Bomer I almost died. What an absolutely stunning human specimen!
ReplyDeleteAs for the "can gay play straight argument" I think it's kind of up to the actor. For example, I've never seen How I Met Your Mother, but I hear Neil Patrick Harris plays a straight man/womanizer very well. As much as I hate it and I wish that people could be free to be who they truly are, I read an article once that kind of explained it to me. It stated that it would be much harder for an actor who was deemed a "heart-throb" to come out, because he may lose a large part of his fan-base. That definitely goes for Taylor Lautner and Zac Efron. I bet in about 20 years some of these guys will feel comfortable coming out, but I don't see it happening soon. Very unfortunate :(
Taylor lautner/Kellan Lutz. Yep.
ReplyDeleteNo clue on the blind. Just wanted to join in on the love for the beautiful Matt Bomer. He's so good looking. And from the few pictures I've seen of him with his kids it looks like he's a great Father too which makes him even hotter.
ReplyDeleteAlso just wanted to add how much I love Matthew Bomer. He is beyond handsome and has such a happy family.
ReplyDeleteI also read this as Taylor Kitsch being the B-lister only because Battleship and John Carter failed so badly (I tried with John Carter, I really did but it got shut off after an hour)

Jack Harkness was billed as a try-sexual but ended up in a real relationship with a guy.
NPH's character is a cartoon depiction of a womanizer.
As usual, i'm clueless re the identities of B and C although y'all have given me a couple of good ideas. But i don't like calling out people based on my guesses.
ReplyDeleteWhat really ticks me off is that "YES", C really has some kink going on.
Among whatever else he's doing, he's manipulating/stringing B along. B is going through some very real turmoil now while he tries to come to terms with his life, feelings and future. C is just mind-f&^kn a guy who needs a real friend right now who knows what he's dealing with.
C is a real POS who i hope floats on down to his real level while i just as fervently hope B gets some good support and advice from people who care about him.
