Shannen Doherty A Finalist To Judge America's Got Talent

Apparently next season on America's Got Talent, the show is going to feature a bunch of women fighters. Oh, or maybe a bunch of people who who have seen their careers crash and burn. I'm trying to figure out something that producers of the show have decided that Shannen Doherty could judge and actually be a respected authority on. According to TMZ, the three finalists to replace Sharon Osbourne at the judge's table next season are Carly Simon, Shannen Doherty and LeAnn Rimes. I actually think they should start the season with a four judge panel including Shannen and LeAnn and see how long it takes before one of them kills the other. Then Carly could step in. I do worry that maybe Carly has been out of the spotlight too long. I think the last time she had a hit song, Nixon was President. Sharon Osbourne is about the same age, but the demographic with Sharon does not skew to her age because of who she is married to and her kids. Interesting choices.

  3. Not going to watch either way but I love a train wreck. Saw this and was so hoping Leann's on there. Butttt on second thought it might just give her more ammo to just do the whole woe is me I'm being bullied crap.

Someone has a sense of humor. This is AWESOME.

  5. Good lord, those are the choices? I can think of a lot of women who'd be better and might be happy for the spotlight. Women like Shania Twain, Belinda Carlisle, Joan Jett, Allison Kraus, etc., would be better. I don't know that any of them need the money, but they'd definitely have something to offer.

What about that one lady who's always broke? Toni Braxton.

Ooh, how about that Dixie Chick who pissed some people off? She'd be good. We need somone who can tell it like it is.

  6. I love Shannon! The question is how long would she last?

  7. I say yes to Shannen. She's a little nuts, plus she's the one celeb I've met in person, so I can go around telling people I know her.

  8. these competition shows are like the Love Boat of our time. at least carly was/is a great singer/songwriter and though I don't like leanne, she can sing as well. shannen and talent = not so much.

  9. Carly Simon is amazing. I could listen to her sing for days. I'd be fine with her judging, I just don't know if it's her thing. I like LeAnn's singing, but I have zero interest in anything else that comes out of her mouth. I don't DISlike her, just not into her as a judge.

  10. Please God, not Shannen.

  12. Bitch-tress Shannen vs.whiny Leann?! I'm going to have to get cable again...I love me a good bitch fight and Shannen will deliver!

I love Carly Simon, but I think she'd be too nice, y'know? She wouldn't want to hurt anyone's feelings.

  13. Is Howard Stern coming back? If so, he and Shannen would be a great combo. However, I don't know that I see a balance between Shannen and Mandel. It would be weird for it to be Carly, and awful for it to be LR.

  14. She probably could really use the money

  15. I hear she's made a lot of changes in her life and is no longer a mean girl, and quite supportive of her friends. But I think it would be OK if she brought back the mean girl for the show. I'm for this idea.

  16. OMG, wouldn't it be great if it was Joan Jett? le sigh.

Oh for the love of Great Cthulhu, just let it NOT be LeAnn. Anyone else.

  17. I had an interaction with Shannen, and she was actually not bitchy at all. She even remembered my name. However, I do agree that she would deliver if a bitch fight ensued.

  18. Still wouldn't watch.

  19. Hahaha HazelDazel! Made my day with that comment :)

I vote for the original Mean Girl. If she's still shilling for those at home courses she clearly needs the work! LR just gives me the rage and the Lady Carly, while probably having the best credentials, may not be an exciting judge.

  20. I enjoy this show...there are few shows out there that I can watch with my little kids...and I would prefer Shannen out of the 3. Leeann will never go away if we give her this type of position and while Carly may be a good judge, I would prefer another foil for Howie and his over the top cheeziness.

  21. I have an irrational love of this rampaging woman, but seriously WTF with her career choices? She should be in some soapy nighttime drama causing chaos and destruction not praising some Star Search rejects. Although she has been acting her whole life so I'm sure she'll be good at it.

  22. Apparently .. per Wiki .. Carly last hit 6th on the Adult Contemporary Chart with "Let It Snow" back in 2005 .. so that would be "W," EL, not Nixon. So .. there's that! : P

  23. I like Shannen D. I know she can be a raging bitch but sometimes thats not a bad thing. Leeann can sing but i dont feel like seeing her skinny ass whinning on tv.

  25. Howard Stern was discussing this on his show this morning. He wondered why no one asked his opinion. He was reminded that he didn't mention to AGT he would be back so why should they bother. He said he doesn't know what he is going to do yet.

I watched AGT because of him and thought he did well. However, his radio show suffers. He likes to complain and the show simply provides too much stimulus that triggers his bitching mechanism.

For the sake of the radio show, I hope he punts AGT.

  26. For Shannon, this is a huge step up from the Education Connection commercials!
