I loved Drunk Uncle the best and I liked the skit about the goofy guy in the park who does a stupid dance. I miss the digital shorts tho. Anne did a good job even if there was singing. I did NOT watch Rihanna.
Anne did a good job as Katie. I switched off at Rihanna as well.
Irony! I'm listening to Bruno Mars as I type this. I got hooked on him after seeing him on SNL a few weeks ago and I've been listening to "Locked Out of Heaven" pretty much constantly, lol. I just loved his performance and how open and full of movement and energy it was. He did a great job too.
Watched the one with Louis CK last night and I was really surprised. He was funny as hell and FUN was a bunch of adorable nerdies. You could tell they loved what they did and the lead singer had such presence. Not really my style of music, but I couldn't take my eyes away from them!
Yeah, I'm a week behind, lol. ;)
I loved that they did a Homeland skit. The rest of the show fell flat for me.
I thought It was sweet and very endearing of Anne Hathaway to kinda apologize to Clare Danes and Katie Holmes at the end of the show. The homeland sketch was dead on hysterical!
Drunk Uncle was great, but maybe about a minute too long.
Of course there had to be a musical opening which I HATEEE
Looking forward to Jeremy Renner next week and how he handles comedy. I wonder if there will be any snarky inside the closet jokes.
I gotta give Anne credit for the opening number as much as I think that's a cop out too. At least she really has a voice.
I feel about Anne the way that most of my peers feel about Jeremy Renner or Chris Hemsworth, so I'm biased to liking her performances.
I love the fact that she has a sense of humour and seems to have more of a brain than average.
I don't watch Homeland so I didn't really get it, but I still found it funny anyway.
LOVED the Homeland sketch!
My husband and I both said the Homeland skit made us want to start watching the real show. We've never seen it.
Anne was really good.
Anne was awesome, and I am saying this not as a fan at all. I may have to revise my loathing for her.
Revision in progress.
Okay, I'm stuck in neutral. I can't like her truly, but I don't hate her any more. That's progress.
I'm really starting to like Anne Hathaway! Esp. when she hosts SNL.
Personally, I liked the musical opening, but then again, I did musical theater in school and still love it in general. I almost turned off the TV after Weekend Update to avoid another Rhianna song, but glad I stuck around to see the "American Gothic" skit.
Since I don't watch Homeland, I didn't really get it.
I thought Anne Hathaway did a pretty good job on SNL last weekend. My favorite skit would have been Drunk Uncle from Weekend Update. His annoyance with technology is hilarious. I’m even more excited to see Les Miserables because of Anne’s monologue. I was working late at DISH the other night, so I was unable to see it when it aired. A while ago, I set up my Hopper from DISH to automatically record the show so I could watch it when I got a chance. Its nice being able to have the entire season on my DVR with more than enough recording space left. I hope Anne hosts again in the future and I am looking forward to Jeremy Renner hosting this weekend!
My DVR cut off the ending, so what did Anne do to apologize to Claire/Katie? I was kind of cringing at both of those wondering how offended they'd be.
I didn't think this episode was as good as others have been. The Homeland thing was totally lost on me b/c I STILL haven't watched it yet. My favorite was Drunk Uncle. :)
