ReplyDeleteI have a question for those of you who were tattooed young and twenty or so years have gone by - are you still happy with it or would you make changes?
ReplyDeleteI ask only because I can't even commit to a hair color, let alone any type of art.
I love my tats. Over the years they've become a part of who I am but they can always be covered, were not fadish, and meant something to me.

ReplyDeleteI've had my couple of tattoos for 20 years and don't regret it, but I made sure I got things that meant something to me. I have a little one of a yellow rose encircling a music note. Yellow roses are my favorite and my love of music will never change so I've always felt good about it. I also kept mine small, not a big fan of massive amounts of tats or big ones.
ReplyDeleteMikey-I've had tattoos for almost a decade now and some are pretty huge but I don't regret any of them. I got them all in spots where you can't see them unless I'm nude so I think that helps. People are shocked that I have 8 of them because they aren't super visible. I got them for me, not to show off.
ReplyDelete@rejectedcarebear - one million per cent agree with everything you said. I have 2 and no-one has any idea I have them unless I am in a bikini/nude. I don't like when people get tattoos where they are highly visible because I feel like they are showing off but each to their own.

ReplyDeleteI HATE my tattoo! I was 17 when I got a dolphin jumping through a wave. This was back during my surf-every-day phase, and I thought it was a sign of me being one with the ocean (insert eyeroll at any one of my last few sentences). It's pretty hidden, but this was the late 80's when bikini bottoms were cut higher. Now? Yeah, not so much :)
I still consider getting my kids initials tattooed on the inside of my forearms, but I'm sitting on it for a while

Delete@auntliddy I think Brad has always unhandsomed himself because otherwise us mere mortals would be blinded at the sight of his perfection. That's why we only see him spiffed up through the veil of cinema film. Only gods and goddesses are allowed to view him face-to-face without repercussions.

ReplyDeleteI've had a tattoo for 15 years and have never regret getting it (mine is in a spot it only shows if I want it to). I do regret not knowing that a lot of people (me) are allergic to the red inks...I got a bad rash immediately after and have dealt with occasional itchiness (when allergy season is really bad and my body is already assaulted) ever since.
Jennifer Carpenter is on my irrational hate list. No reason why (it's irrational) but man does she bug the shit out of me.

ReplyDeleteAs for the tattoos...I've had my 3 for 16 years, 6 years, and 3 years (I'm 37). I love them all. They are all very special to me and mark significant life events/moments (living/studying abroad, getting my PhD, and my breast cancer scare, respectively ).

ReplyDeleteMy Mom got her first tattoo to celebrate her 65th birthday, which seems about the right age to me. ;-)
I have a had a tattoo for 14 years. Its my sons name and a term of endearment written in Persian (my second language, the endearment doesn't translate) with a peace sign and I still love it. I've been thinking of getting something small with some color that represents my status as a cancer survivor, but haven't decided what and where yet. I think my son is the only person in this world that I know I will love forever no matter what, so there can be no regret of its permanent nature.

I'm a couple episodes behind on this season, but from what I've seen so far I keep thinking "she's GOT to be using [the breakup of their marriage] to play this scene with him," if you know what I mean, and then cringing at her mountain of contempt. Don't want to say any more for fear of spoiling.

to be in the right mood to watch it. I am only on season 2, but from what I hear Season 4 is insane :)
