Rider Strong took to his website to announce that as far as he knows there will be no Shawn Hunter on the Boy Meets World sequel, Girl Meets World which features Cory and Topanga raising their daughter. If you are at all a Boy Meets World fan, you really need to read what he wrote. It is really moving and shows how many fans there are across the world who loved that show. "For more than two-thirds of my life, I’ve had the good fortune to experience the incredible support of Boy Meets World fans. Complete strangers hug me on the street. I’ve been mobbed by school children on the subway. I’ve had tow-truck drivers recognize me and refuse to let me pay. I’ve had people buy me drinks in Louisville, in Hyderabad, in Accra…"

He didn't say that Shawn won't be on it - he said that so far, he hasn't been approached. He said he hopes that original cast members can get guest roles, to see what they've been up to, but that the focus should be on Cory, Topanga and their daughter.

ReplyDelete*karen* I'd like to see original recipe Morgan. She was a doll. Then they recast her because she could not act at all and made a joke about how Cory hadn't seen her in forever and she said something like she had been grounded for a really long time.

I didn't watch the show, but have seen a couple episodes here and there. I hope they have him on the show. He was good! And he sounds like a really nice guy IRL.

ReplyDeleteI use to feel so bad for Shawn Hunter. His family was trailer park trash and it was just tragic how his character was thrown in such sad situations. Didn't he end up with Topanga's bff? I hope he does at least a cameo so we can find out if Shawn Hunter experienced some joy in life. I cried when his dad died on the show. Oh Rider Strong, such a sexy name too. he MUST come back!

He WAS the Farrah Fawcett of our generation. The poor, beaten, just needs a little love, bad boy. I wasn't a fan of him or the show, but even I can see that.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't be surprised if the show does go beyond pilot (which seems certain given the amount of love BMW seems to have that I never knew about) that Rider Strong will make a guest appearance. It's nice to see child actor turn out normal and humble. Rider is a class act with his statement and sentiment to BMW and it's many fans over the years. Good for him.

and this is how it's done. It would be great if all the child/former starts and one hit wonders would embrace their past fame like this. Appreciate the advantages it gives you, and handle it with class and grace. Reading this letter definitely brought my childhood crush back just a little bit.

Wow, what a great guy. I still love catching BMW in reruns. I expect to see Shawn, Eric & Mr. Feeny in guest spots on GMW. Can you imagine Cory & Topanga leaving Uncle Eric in charge for a weekend?
