Janeane Garofalo Has Been Married For 20 Years
Until recently, Janeane Garofalo thought she was a single woman. It turns out though she was married for almost 20 years to her former boyfriend Rob Cohen. The pair got married in Vegas back in 1991 but they didn't think it counted because they went through a drive-thru and were in the back of a cab and never filled out paperwork that they can recall. It turns out though they were married and Rob came calling when he wanted to get married to someone else. According to The NY Post, the couple only had their marriage dissolved this past week and then had a Ben Stiller Show reunion which is where they met.
It married a male?
ReplyDeleteShe will forever be awesome for being in Romy and Michelle's high school reunion.
ReplyDeleteThat has to be the most epic vegas night ever.
ReplyDeleteShe's cool and all but, Enty, surely you have better material than this, I'm trying to wake up here. Janeane Garofalo? Snore. Why not throw in another one of those juicy blinds you've been holding back. Come on, you know you want to!
ReplyDeleteBen Stiller is the creepiest man in comedy.
ReplyDeleteHa, since they got married in Vegas, he'd be entitled to 50% of what she made since the marriage.
ReplyDeleteSo, like, $17.
Now that made me spit coffee & scare my dogs!
DeleteSstaples611,THAT was a good laugh.
DeleteReporting on Janeane Garofalo's mystery marriage is infinitely more interesting than anything about a "Real Housewife" or Teen Mom.
ReplyDeleteAgreed! At least she is a smart and funny woman. I would rather hear about her then those trainwreck "ladies" you mentioned. :)
Delete@Staple611, PERFECT.
ReplyDeleteAgreed @camembert
ReplyDeleteOT but I wanted to thank everyone for the good luck and kind words. It really meant a lot to me. To be truthful it brought tears to my eyes when I saw and am starting to tear up again.
ReplyDeleteI am having surguery tomorrow to remove what the dr described to me as a complex cyst about the size of a newborn baby's head (almost 10cm). He told me not to worry it should be benign but wants to remove it first then biopsy instead of leaving me in pain for a week or two.
Ladies, if you are considering having a hysterectomy please consider having BOTH your ovaries removed. I had everything except 1 ovary removed and I still went into menopause. The dr who did the hysto talked me into leaving one ovary and it has caused me nothing but problems. Not to mention my sister in law just died about 4 months ago from ovarian cancer due to the same issue. I am not preaching saying that you need to have them both removed by any means. Just do your research and be confident in your drs opinion (which I wasn't at the time).
And again, thank you all. Even though I do not know any of you personally, your kind words affected me more than any I have gotten to my face. >3 you all
bobbi- good luck , are you near Broward County ?
ReplyDeleteJaneanne Garafalo has one of the longest Hollywood Marriages?!!!
ReplyDeleteJaneanne Garafalo has one of the longest Hollywood Marriages?!!!
ReplyDeleteI've always even a fan of hers.
ReplyDeleteGood luck Bobbi. Will keep my fingers crossed for you.
ReplyDeleteJust to add something to what you said about the ovaries. My doctor (gyno-oncologist) believes that ovarian cancer actually starts in the fallopian tubes, so if you're going to have that kind of surgery, have the tubes removed as well. Ovarian cancer is very hard to test for, and often by the time it's diagnosed, it's quite advanced.
bobbi - good luck to you! Your MD sounds like he knows what he's doing. Be sure to keep us updated!
ReplyDelete@bobbi Good luck!!!!!!!
ReplyDelete@bobbi -- stay strong! You have a whole cdan alliance behind you!
ReplyDeleteAs for Janeane, now THIS is the type of gossip I love. A drunken night in Vegas, near bigamy, and an awesome (and not over exposed) celebrity. And whoever said that she will forever be beloved because of Romy and Michele -- yup, word.
Good Luck Bobbi!!!! We are behind you!! Our hopes and prayers are with you!!
ReplyDelete@ Camembert: I couldn't agree more!! Enough with the teen moms. They're famous because they had babies in their teens? Seriously?
ReplyDelete@Bobbi - good love!
ReplyDeleteI heart jeneane. Mystery Men has to be one of the most underrated movies of all time.
ReplyDeleteWow - I'll certainly be thinking of you tomorrow Bobbi. Take care of yourself.
ReplyDeleteExcept I distinctly remembering reading YEARS ago that she'd gotten married in Vegas in the past, hadn't been with the guy in forever but had never bothered to get a divorce or anullment so she didn't find out recently unless recently was ten years ago or more.
ReplyDelete@Bobbi - sending lots of warm, love vibes your way. I hope it goes off without a hitch and that you're able to rest comfortably. I feel like everything will be fine! :) Xo
ReplyDeleteThe Ben Stiller show was awesomesauce. Remember when Andy Dick was actually pretty damn funny. His "Skank" still makes me laugh.
ReplyDelete@Bobbi - good luck tomorrow. Sounds like you have been through a lot. I'm glad you could get some warmth from the CDAN community. I
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your surgery, Bobbi. I mostly lurk but always read.
ReplyDeleteGood luck Bobbi
ReplyDeleteI always thought Jeneane was a lesbian
I love/d Janeane! She was awesome on the MTV 25 Lame special. The last thing I saw her on was co-hosting The Jimmy Kimmel Show back when he had a different co-host each week. I remember being bummed because she didn't say much.
ReplyDeleteUm, she's talked about this before. In an interview years ago, her quote was something like, "Yeah, I'm married. We never bothered to get it annulled." This wasn't a surprise to her.
ReplyDeleteI love Janeane Garofalo! I have wanted to be BFF's with her since "Reality Bites" came out. So far, I have been unsuccessful, yet not creepy at all. *L* And I totally agree, would much rather read about her than some teen mom.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with everything Bobbi.
ReplyDeleteInteresting, I always thought she was a lesbian.
ReplyDelete@ Bobbi, I'm sending positive thoughts your way! I'm going thru something kind of similar (?) and understood what you meant by the scary drs office message, I'm happy to hear that you are doing better!!
ReplyDelete@Bobbi - will be thinking of you tomorrow, sending you good energy and wishing you well. I must've missed the original conversation.
ReplyDeleteTake care of yourself and let us know how you are as soon as you can.
The CDAN peeps are a good lot and have helped me through a rough patch, even without knowing they did. I love it here (and miss everyone, haven't been around much lately).
Cyberhugs to you!
Bobbi- sending you good thoughts. My mom had a similar experience in the spring. Hers was the size of a cantaloupe!
ReplyDeleteAnyone else remember when she was like, "They probably never even heard of Yo La Tengo..." and mind you, she wasn't in middle school -rather middle age. Btw, she was talking about the Bushee's bashing her.
ReplyDelete//Let's just say I am NOT a fan.
Can't stand JG ... and not funny....
ReplyDeleteGood luck...best wishes...positive thoughts...@Bobbi...<3 <3 <3
"As for Janeane, now THIS is the type of gossip I love. A drunken night in Vegas, near bigamy, and an awesome (and not over exposed) celebrity. And whoever said that she will forever be beloved because of Romy and Michele -- yup, word."
ReplyDeleteTotally. FUN gossip, and I always liked her. Don't get the hate. Political?
Good vibes your way, bobbi.
@bobbi, good luck and rest easy.....you'll do great.
ReplyDeleteI have a special place in my heart for Janeane. I used to be a regular blogger at The Majority Report and thanks to that, met the former Love of my Life who was also a blogger there. Nik also went to high school with Janeane in Madison until she left to move to Texas. So .. I got to know her a bit through him and so I like her.
ReplyDeleteShe is also a lot like me .. very self-deprecating, very liberal and also like me in the feeling she will never find love in her lifetime that last. She breaks my heart .. so I guess I adore her.
So .. I guess that is meaningless post Number One for me today!
Best of luck Bobbi! Get lots of rest and hope you have a speedy recovery. :)
ReplyDeleteGood luck Bobbi! Be sure to let us know how you're doing.
ReplyDeleteBobbi, sending tons of hugs and love and prayers and healing thoughts.
ReplyDeleteSometimes the internet can be a good thing.
Post when you can okay.
Good luck Bobbi, thank you for keeping us informed. Heal quickly and well.
ReplyDeleteBobbi: You'll be fine..Sounds scary but with all these good wishes coming at you I firmly believe you'll come out okay. Report back and tell us all how well you are!!
ReplyDeleteSomeone needs to talk to JG about her clothing..Seriously her fashion sense is horrendous.
Lots of hugs, Bobbi! I will be thinking of you tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteBest of luck Bobbie!
ReplyDeleteI'm neutral with JG, but I have hard time with this story. I got married in Vegas and needed a license. Now it was 20 years later, but Vegas is strict about certain things. I think this story is bogus, but fun to talk about.
Love being sent your way Bobbi! Hugs too!
ReplyDeleteSince when is it acceptable for someone to call another human being "It?"
ReplyDeleteYou have been on my mind Bobbi, continued good vibrations coming your way! Healing thoughts!
ReplyDeleteAnd as a sarcastic girl of a certain age, can't help but have some love for JG
Sending love and healing your way Bobbi! Raphael is the Archangel of healing and I often call him to help with my healing work. Angels and fairies be with you tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteAdd me to the list of those who will be thinking of/praying for you tomorrow, @bobbi. Be sure to keep in touch and let us know how you're faring. Maybe all of this positive energy we're sending in your direction will help speed your recovery! =) Internet hugs! (( ))
ReplyDeleteIf Enty ever had written a blind about an actress in TV and movies who had been secretly married for 20 years, would any of us have ever guessed Janeane? Nobody. Not even Janeane would have guessed it. She wins best Hollywood secret ever. (My husband makes us watch "Mystery Men" several times a year.)
ReplyDeleteXo Bobbi!!!
ReplyDeleteLove JG
Xo Bobbi!!!
ReplyDeleteLove JG
Xo Bobbi!!!
ReplyDeleteLove JG
Bobbi, you posted that yesterday but please keep us updated. I know what you mean about ovarian cancer. Every single woman on my father's side has died from a form of female cancer, including my sister (stage 4 breast)...it's nothing to play around with. I'm mid-30s and trying to talk my doctor into giving me a full hysterectomy. My thoughts and warm hugs are with you for a speedy recovery.
ReplyDelete@Penelope, that's pretty aggressive. Deservedly so, but still pretty aggressive. I wish you the best outcome possible!
ReplyDelete@bobbi_1025 Prayers for you!! It sound exactly like my friend's benign cyst - even the same size and area. She gained an unexplained 10 pounds, and when dieting didn't work, she went to the doctor, and this is what it was.....This was about 10 yrs ago, and she's never had a recurrence....
ReplyDeleteBobbi, Best wishes, warmest thoughts and hugs to you. Will be thinking of you all of today as will many others on CDAN. Please get back to us ASAP ;-) With all of us behind you, things have gotta go A-OK!
ReplyDeleteI saw her stand up this summer in Chicago. I've always loved her as an actress, but wasn't sure how the stand up would be. She was hilarious. I can't imagine the shock they both had after thinking they were single all these years. Ahh, Vegas.
